My computer suddenly froze, well it appeared that it had, it was infact just the Keyboard and Mouse. I turned it off manually and re-booted. Lone behold the Keyboard and mouse still don't work. This has happened before and I found a fix for it by following some steps to do something like an electrical reset or something where you turn it on and off and hold a button in for a certain amount of time etc, BUT I can't remember how to do it.
Seems my CMOS data corrupted... Sometimes, I can't able to get into BIOS setup, as there is no option seen in the screen to enter by pressing DEL (I have a Gigabyte MB).. After couple of restarts, my MB showing me as normal that (Press DEL to enter setup).

Okay so i recently bought a new desktop computer and i left it on over the night and in the morning it was frozen, so i popped out the battery and waited 5 min and then i put it back. Now when i start it up either i get the white and black screen with 2 options, to start windows normally or to run system repair, it fails with repairing and restoring. And sometimes when i start it the windows 7 thingie with the like 4 orbs who create the flag just freezes and a blue screen with white text comes up for 1 sec and then it reboots and i get to the black and white screen with those options that i mentioned before.
I reset the cmos by pulling the battery, and now the comp won't boot, won't show the F2 F^ boot options in the upper left corner, and won't react to any key pressed, just shows a messages saying to run setup, but no clue how to get there using usual keypressess.
I've only noticed this on Windows 7, I have NO idea what's going on.
I know sometimes when your computer is badly frozen that the keyboard won't respond and the lights won't even respond when you press numlock and capslock.
Well my keyboard works just fine (I'm typing from it now) but the LIGHTS do not! The numlock light is on, the capslock and scroll lock lights are off. They won't change no matter what I do. Same with numlock. The lights stays on even when it's off.
If I press capslock I still get capslock SEE. But the lights won't change. O.o
Obviously it's not a major issue that's inhibiting my experience but it is a little confusing because I can't tell what locks are on or off.
The mouse/cursor suddenly STOPPED. The computer was rebooted and the same thing occurs. I plugged in a wireless mouse that has been used before, but NOTHING. The cursor/mouse will not move.
I even reinstalled windows but have hte same problem.
I have been using win 7 for a couple years with the same wireless mouse/keyboard combo (microsoft ntellimouse explorer 2.0). The other day the pointer mouse pointer froze in the middle of the screen. I have rebooted several times, tried a wired usb mouse (it works on other computers with win7), tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and nothing has worked. The pointer is still frozen in the middle of the screen. I'd like some suggestions on how to resolve this issue.
On my laptop the primary user mouse has frozen and will not move. The other users mouse/cursor moves fine. Also, I have noticed that the when on the primary user the fan runs and the computer is hot.
Computer is frozen, black screen with movable mouse after splash logo. Same happens in safe mode. The log in screen never shows up. The computer sounds like its loading at that point, but nothing ever comes up. I can get into ubuntu. This happened after updating my graphics card nvidia. I have dual monitors. Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium, HP Pavilion p6107c Desktop.
I have quite a few input languages enabled on Windows 7 Ultimate and I want to navigate between them using keyboard shortcuts like I used to do on Windows XP. I know how to assign the shortcuts but the trouble is that all of the shortcuts keep getting reset every time I shut down the PC and after I log on again none of them work... I can of course go to Control Panel and assign the shortcuts again but it's a bit irritating when you have to do it for 8 languages every day.Oddly enough, the shortcuts for two of eight languages that I have are automatically restored when I go to this dialog box where shortcuts may be assigned — without me making any changes other than just clicking OK. So these two don't seem to be completely lost, it just seems that Windows 'forgets' about them until I open the dialog box with the shortcut assignments.
Ok not sure how to explain this but my mouse/keyboard occasionally freeze up for few seconds and mouse will become very very slow and beeping sound come from speakers when I try to press keys on mouse or just move it, not the standard error sound its different beep. In shooters i sometimes find my self unloading a gun in the air after the lag passes please someone help.
I tried googling but I couldn't find exact same problem but most of answers were pointing towards overheating I installed SpeedFan I alt tabbed out of stalker to look at the reading at my cores were at 60 not sure if thats enough to cause something like I described.
My keyboard on my laptop is not working, as well as the mouse. Was playing Left 4 Dead before and noticed whenever I hold down any key on my keyboard (Logitech G15), and try to move my mouse (G9), the mouse moves, the suddenly stops for a split of a second, moves to where I want it, then stop, etc.
Almost as if the MOUSE had latency issues.
Opened up Autodesk Maya afterwards, spun my scene around using Alt + Mouse, and it's all fine.
Anyone else got anything weird like this? Running 64-bit Windows 7.
FIXED. I verified game cache and restarted computer as well as swapping my USB slots.
Yesterday I got on my computer everything is running fine. Today got on it for awhile and suddenly the USB keyboard and USB mouse lock up. I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.
I have a Dell Zino HD. After some Windows updates (may or may not be relevant) the mouse and keyboard have stopped working completely. They work for the BIOS and for F8 options but once Windows has started to boot properly, they stop. I therefore cannot log on.
i've been experiencing some issues with mouse and keyboard lately. Both of them randomly freezes for a couple of seconds and then just come back normal. Anyway, i tried to ignore this for a couple of days but now when they freeze, they won't come back and i have to reboot the computer manually.I've tried starting windows through safe mode. It still freezed but for a second this time. I'd be so glad if you guys could show me to fix this problem.
I have an ASUS laptop running Windows 7 64 big home premium. a few days ago I brought it out of sleep mode and when the page came up for my password I had no touch pad or keyboard control. I have tried restarting. I tried using a USB keyboard. I also tried Safe mode and I've got nothing. I turned it off with the power button since I had no other choice. When it comes up with "Windows did not properly shut down" screen i can use my keyboard to select options, however, after the screen I've got nothing. My login screen comes up like normal. I even have a flashing cursor in the password box yet my touch pad and keyboard do nothing.
I have a very strange problem. My mouse clicks by itself, and my keyboard types things I've previously typed EVEN THOUGH it's not plugged in. It's random, but occurs after about 2 hours of use. Could I have gotten a virus or changed some weird setting?
I have two PC'c and I would like them to share a mouse and a keyboard. I have heard that could be accomplished via KVM switch ( hardware ) or program called Synergy.
Does anyone have experience with either/both. What is more reliable and seamless?
I'm buying a new desktop and I am wondering if I can use this wireless keyboard and mouse during the first boot up (windows 7)Keyboard and mouse: [URL]
when I open, it's seemingly random, programs sometimes the usb flicker on and off. For example, the mouse works 1-2 seconds then stops 1-2 seconds and continues like that. Same with the keyboard, it works a few seconds, stops and repeats. When I shut down the program it works again, 'the program' because it's been abit of everything. Sometimes it happens again, so I have to restart again etc. With the new keyboard with back lighting and mouse with dpi indicator I see that the keyboard and mouse flicker with its light on and off, one after another. The usb unplugged sound or whatever it is has also occured with these new peripherals aswell.I've tried disabling power saving option in the Root Hubs in device management, but it doesn't help.
Have XFX 680i MB, P4-3.0 processor, 500 gig HD, 8 gig RAM, Gforce 8600 video card. Installed windows 7 and it is very awsome and have found it very easy to use. Only problem found is I have a Rocketfish keyboard and mouse Blustooth and seems to loose conectivity often, have to delete and search for the blooth items. Other than that Windows 7 seems to be a very good operating system and look forward to the release.
I'm seeming randomly having a problem on my self-built desktop PC where my keyboard and mouse will freeze up, leaving the computer virtually inoperable. I also get strange hangs in the mouse that last a second or so, leading up to one big hang. There's no BSOD or anything like that.I have to hard reboot in order to do anything. All programs and services continue to run and there's no real warning. Games will continue to play like normal as will videos and music, I just can't alt/tab or Cntrl/Alt/Delete. There's no indication that the devices disconnected physically or otherwise. The LEDs on the keyboard stay lit, so it's not as if it loses power.I have tried unplugging and replugging, updating USB drivers, installing and subsequently uninstalling Logitech software, and physically cleaning the fan (Just to ensure heat wasn't a factor). I've ran virus checks from Avast and Malware Bytes that have come back clean. I've looked into the event viewer, but I'm not very proficient with it and I can't seem to find anything on it.

I just built a new system and installed MS windows 7 64bit home premium. Have issue that ever so often my mouse and keyboard stop working when on websites. If I plug into a different slot on the motherboard, it shows no power to my mouse. I am not sure whether it is my Motherboardor the power supply. It seems to happen when there is animation on the website.[CODE]
Every couple of hours I am losing control over my keyboard and mouse and random windows open up and complete gibberish gets typed in. I have scanned my computer completely with AVG and I'm not getting anything back. What do I do?Also these are my specs if this helps at all.Operating SystemMS Windows 7[CODE]
installed the R/C last night. When it finally was done installing doing an upgrade from 32-bit vista to windows 7, the final reset loads up and i cannot use either my mouse or keyboard. I have tried pluggng them into every usb slot i have, restarted with both plugged in and not plugged in.tried the 2 other mice and another keyboad. One being a microsoft keyboard that. The keyboard does work when choosing between the different loadup options, but still doesn't work in safemode. When i try to reinstall either Vista with my bootup cd or with the copy of windows xp i have, it starts the loadup , but keeps getting the blue screen before the install even starts.
Shortly after installing the latest intellipoint drivers suggested by Windows 7 along with several other updates from windows update, my Microsoft Keyboard stopped working after windows boots up. The mouse works fine but the keyboard does not.The keyboard doesn't respond AFTER windows starts but works fine in BIOS. I can boot to safe mode using F8 but then the keyboard stops working once Windows prompts me to logon.I can even use the sleep mode button on an alternate keyboard (Logitech) I tried later just to debug the problem to put the computer to sleep but the keys to log on aren't responsive. The computer succesfully restarted a few times after installting the updates so it may not directly be related to the windows updates. Either way, it didn't happen on next bootup.
-I tried all my system restore points and that did not work,
-I tried the "on-screen" keyboard just to get past the logon, but it does not pop up. I can get it to pop up in another installation of windows 7 on the same computer.
- I tried the keyboard on a separate (new) installation of Windows 7 on the same computer and it does work fine, but that doesn't solve the problem. Also the "on-screen" keyboard works fine in the new installation.
-I've tried going into BIOS and setting num-lock boot to on (I don't know why but someone suggested this might work for a similar problem) but it didn't work for me.
- I've also tried a few BIOS options that look like they might make a difference like legacy USB 3.0 support but that did not work.
- different USB ports 2.0 or 3.0 for the receiver combo do not make a difference.
Also a clean re-install is not an option for me because the licenses used for Windows and MS Office won't allow another install.I can get to a dos prompt or access the non-working windows 7 drive and files with dual-boot, but I need to get back to access that installation. Is there a way to manually reinstall the drivers via DOS, the other partition, or some other solution that might work?
