View 2 RepliesMy computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag
View 9 Replies View RelatedPeriodically, lately it's at least daily, my mouse cursor freezes and the computer becomes unresponsive requiring cold boot. This sometimes happens even before I log on if I boot up and don't log on then come back later, the mouse may be frozen. It also happens while in idle and screen saver is running. I was running in Safe Mode w/ Networking today and it also happened. The mouse I was using was a MS Wireless Mouse 5000.
That one would just freeze. I accidentally destroyed it and am now using a MS Wireless ARC mouse instead. The only difference I notice is that the ARC mouse will occasionally pause the cursor in a spot for a second or two and then continue. However, it also will eventually freeze and lock system. Not sure how to identify where the problem is. I've updated the NVIDIA driver recently to the latest one.
I was using Windows 7 for few weeks already and now mouse started freezing for few seconds pretty often. After mouse unstucks, there is a sound like new devise is plugged in. I was trying to search any solutions @ google, but couldnt find any, except that other people also have same problem (mainly on windows vista). Im using simple USB mouse, tried to update various drivers but says that they are all up to date.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi've been experiencing some issues with mouse and keyboard lately. Both of them randomly freezes for a couple of seconds and then just come back normal. Anyway, i tried to ignore this for a couple of days but now when they freeze, they won't come back and i have to reboot the computer manually.I've tried starting windows through safe mode. It still freezed but for a second this time. I'd be so glad if you guys could show me to fix this problem.

When I launch the Recovery Disc Creation, it says:"This computer does not have a burning drive, which is required to make DVDs. Please contact HP Support for asistance."My computer did not come with a build in CD Drive. Even plugging in a USB CD Drive will not make creating the discs possible. So. I ask you. How can I reset my computer to Factory Condition?

View 7 Replies View RelatedOver the night I turn off my Windows 7 computer. Some mornings, when I turn it on, the pc boots normally but the cursor is frozen on the desktop. The mouse itself is lighten up and seems ready to be used. That happens at random and force me to reboot once or twice to get it working. There is no virus. The mouse is a Logitech using a Windows 7 driver.
[code]...
It really would be nice to know which driver. Can I blindly assume this to be mouse/keyboard related and that in lieu of deleting a driver I can simply install the latest Logitech drivers?
Please understand that my Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit w/SP1 is installed on a new Intel X25M SSD so I am not real eager to wipe the SSD and do a reinstall of Win 7 w/out SP1 (as I have been advised elsewhere)

View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes for apparently no reason at all my mouse cursor will just freeze for a couple seconds and I won't be able to move it. When this happens (I have Process Explorer minimized to tray) I can see that just about no CPU is being taken up either. So I know that this freeze isn't because my processor is being overworked. Also, it's not because I'm opening a program or anything, hence it is seemingly very random. Is there any reason why the mouse should randomly freeze from time to time when nothing that major is happening on the system?

I look at my mouse and keyboard, which are illuminated and notice there is no light meaning they are not detected by my tower. I try many ports and still no response. View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently built my own desktop. Not my first build but a relatively new builder. Everytime I am on it it freezes up and restarts itself and goes into the black windows recovery screen. My new build was fine and now all of a sudden I am having this issue.
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit
AMD 6 core 3.2 phenom
2 x4 gb gskill ram
64 gb crucial ssd (has the operating system on it)
500 gb western digital hard drive
ATI radeon 5670 iceq graphics card.
I have upgraded from 32 bit Windows 7 to 64 bit Windows 7, and I've been having problems with it. After a while, a program would freeze, then everything else would freeze. I have checked for viruses, chkdsk, sfc /scannow, memtest86+, defragged updated my graphics drivers, etc, until I finally re-installed. The problem still persists, but it's not as dominant, but it is preventing me from working properly. I feel it's kinda obvious that something is activating it (but still random) but I don't know what.
Here is my System info:

View 2 Replies View RelatedLately I have problems with my pc, sometimes the windows blocks/freeze and I must restart from the button; this happens like 1 time in 3 hours or 1 time in 7 days, it's random. The image freeze even if the pc is in idle. I have found another problem, the mouse cursor freeze for 2 sec (the image doesn't freeze, only the cursor), and after it's coming back to normal. I tried with several mouse's. I tried with another HDD and I have the same problem..

hdd: Samsung 250 GB SATA-II 7200RPM 16MB SpinPoint F1

I did reinstall the windows, update drivers and bios update, cleared cmos, tested the RAM with memtest86 (no errors).
I got a new machine recently and it all works fine, except the operating system seems to randomly freeze. When it does the only way I have found to get out of it is to manually plug it out and restartOn freeze the keyboard and mouse become entirely unresponsive, the cursor does not move, nor do either click buttons do anything, if I'm typing somewhere the text does not appear, and Ctrl+Alt+Del doesn't bring up the usual screenI'm running windows 7 home premium on a 64 bit machine. I haven't found anything quite like this problem around so I thought it deserved a new topic by itselfI can't think of what to do to determine the cause or any potential solution. Everything's up to date. I think all the drivers are too. I put in different virus software 'cause I thought that might be itdit: The last time it happened I tried putting the keyboard and mouse into different USB ports, but that didn't work.Edit2: I just went to my device manager and manually checked for updates for all the drivers, and it turned out my graphics card needed an update (I updated it myself about three weeks ago so I discarded this as a potential problem). So I installed the update.

View 9 Replies View RelatedJust got windows 7 on my computer. Was running windows xp before. Ive been using the mouse i am now for over a year with no problems. Now since i went to windows 7, it often stutters when doing anything on my computer. The stutters usually are about a second long and are completely random. I could be playing a game, browsing the web, or anything else and it will stutter. When it does stutter, i do hear the "bu-dum" sound as if it was being disconnected/reconnected instantly. Sometimes the stutters dont happen for an hour, sometimes i get 5 within 15 seconds. I've tried installing drivers and what not.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit application. June 2012 it crashed. Since I am a teacher, I needed my laptop to recover quickly. The system would not recognize my recovery disks so I had to order disks from HP. The disks arrived but when I began to rebuild the tablet I killed the process at 12 hours because it seemed ridiculously long. ( My prior career I was a system project manager...so I am no strager to computers and software installations.) My quick solution was installing Windows 7 Home premium and then downloading the custom installtions for my HP tablet off the HP site. This was required to finish the school year. July 2012 I began attempting to rebuild my laptop correctly. I found, through HP forums, their installtions take 16 hours before you get to the windows setup screens. In the midst of this process my battery also seems to have completely died.I have tested that it is the battery: AC Power glows steady white when battery is removed and system boots.
Put the battery back in and the light blinks orange the whole time. Battery test shows it cannot recognize a battery. So....when I tried to install the first time with battery still in, 16 hours later HP recovey processed, and Windows setup began. It made it through preparing software installation, installing software, customizing software, and stopped at "Checking AC Power." The second time.....I tried to install I removed the dead battery. This allowed the power led to stop blinking orange and be steady white glow. For this test the system made it through preparing, and installing, but hung at customizing software.Third try now....battery back in hangs again at Checking AC Power. It has been here for 8 hours. The HP site also indicates that the WIFI radio needs to be on for installation. Mine is and glows white.
Any remedies for how to complete the installation, through checking ac power where it is hanging, and then initate and complete the installtion verification would be great! While I can install my full clean version of Windows 7, it would be preferential to install with the HP customizations specific to this laptop. Here is a link to the customer forum for the inordiantely long recovery process on the HP side: Installing from HP Recovery CD,nstallation freezes at %12 - Page 11 - HP Support Forum
