View 4 RepliesI played the game for 100 + hours without problem, then this problem appears. Skyrim freezes then resumes then freezes every 5 seconds after playing for a few minutes. I tried re-installing the game, lowering the graphics to low, removing all mods. This is also not a savegame issue, it happens even in a new game. Also tried running in windowed mode, did not fix the issue. I also tried using game booster(to see if a background is causing this). I also tried running the game in my Windows XP partition, got the same problem. I do have the latest drivers and patch. One thing I have noticed is my CPU load goes from around 90% to 30% during the freezing.

I have an HP desktop x64, win 7 32 i just did a factory restore 2 day ago but, I still have 1 of the problems I had before; the mouse on my computer will freeze for like 20 sec and sometimes causing the system to crash. Yesterday, it shut down on me and a blue screen popped up it said something about the drivers or bios but, I checked the maintenance and it said everything passed (good).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an ASUS U52F series laptop with an intel i5 and 2x2g ddr3 ram.A few months ago (nothing big happened) my laptop started to freeze upon resumes. It takes 4-6 hard resets (holding down power) to get it to finally start working. It then works fine until its goes into sleep mode, or gets closed, then the process begins. It has frozen anywhere between right after password is entered to right after programs start to autoload in windows. The only troubleshooting ive done is swap the slots the RAM is in but it hasn't fixed the problem.A friend told me it could be the RAM, but I don't want to spend the money on it if that isn't the problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI returned from the cottage after being absent for a week and turned on my computer and now it is freezing momentarily. If I am downloading the speeds go down, it does not look like a network problem because the laptop we run off a router runs fine on the internet. I do not get any BSOD's. It freezes for a few minutes or 30 or seconds and then resumes working properly. Any idea what could be causing this. I scanned using malwarebytes but to no avail.I notice my memory usage is almost full meaning I have 2 gigs of ram, half of it is cached and half of it is being used leaving only a few megabytes, that may be the norm as I am checking right now while the computer is running fine
View 3 Replies View RelatedSince my fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (SP1) - whenever I install software, the windows installer will hang or not respond for long periods - then it comes back to life, installs a bit more, then freezes again - sometimes it can take up to 10-20 minutes to install a normal program!
View 2 Replies View Relatedwindows 7 x64 on my laptop (intel core i5 @ 2.50ghz, 4 gb ram) has recently started freezing for a few seconds every few seconds, when i'm doing just about anything: browsing the web, copying files, using text redactor, etc. only the mouse cursor responds, control is back after a couple of seconds.
* the behaviour remains the same when booting in the safe mode
* there are no cpu or memory usage peaks in process explorer
* there are no hardware conflicts in device manager
* there are no critical errors in system log
* there is no antivirus active
* hardware tests (memory, etc.) do not report any errors
i suspect this has started after i've updated all the drivers from manufacturer's site, but i am not 100% sure. anyway, i do not know which driver has caused this and i cannot easily restore to the previous state.
Yesterday night my laptop installed an update and I remember it prompting me to restart my computer. Instead I chose the option to postpone the update. I erred when I forgot to restart my computer before going to sleep and instead had put it into sleep mode. Upon resuming windows, my screen was black and there was an error (which I failed to note but it was something about "logging in").
I tried force-powering off my laptop and upon reaching the "Windows Starting", I notice that the logo freezes. The computer appears unresponsive but after a couple of minutes, I am taken to my account log-in screen.
I read somewhere that this might be the result of a corrupt C file. Will a system restore fix the problem? (On the system restore there is a timestamp for "Windows Update" of type "Critical" that was installed around the time I postponed the restart). Is there a way I can scan my computer for corrupted files?
I think its the CPU or the RAM, My CPU is i5 3470, and RAM is Kingston 1600Mhz 4x2GB the bios set my ram to 1333 for some reason when Installed the win, I set it back to 1600 manually. and it freezes after a few hours repeatedly. here are my CPU-Z screenshots of CPU,Memory and SPD tabs, tell me if something's wrong.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I turn on my PC, a few minutes (can be up to 30 minutes) my PC either freezes or freezes for a few seconds then BSOD comes up for around 5 seconds, then my PC restarts. This only happens once a day, and it's only the first time I start my PC every day.
View 16 Replies View RelatedAnyway, I have recently installed a new heat sink, gpu, and ram and after I turn the computer on, it posts, goes to the windows 8 logo, loads for about 5-10 seconds, and then freezes. it even does this when I go to the bios. I checked the temps of my cpu to see if it was overheating for some reason but it was running at 23 Celsius, so I have reason to believe it could be heating problems with the gpu. But I don't fully believe that is the case either.

I've been having this problem for the past couple of months and it's driving me insane. I've searched for hours on end without any luck of a fix.The problem is that my mouse lags (or stutters) every 5 seconds. The lag can sometimes be so bad that the mouse completely stops working for a few seconds.I've gone through 3 mice and they've all had the same problem so it can't be because of the mouse. The mouse I'm currently using is the Logitech Anywhere MX.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy computer qwill freeze for a few seconds followed by system lag which seems to get worse (freezing every few seconds/taking 2 seconds to recognise a click etc.). If i reset my computer it resolves the issue but i was hoping you guys may be able to give me more insight as to what the issue may be.It nearly always happens when i am browsing in firefox. Have never had it happen to me during gaming etc. which is why i'm hesitant to believe it is to do with my GPU or it's drivers which are always kept up to date.i have included pics of the cursor and what processes were running at the time of the freeze/lag

I just started having this problem in the past week. It never happened before, and I haven't installed anything new or changed anything that I can think of.On occasion, I will be doing various tasks, and all of the sudden the screen will freeze. Everything is still shown, it doesn't go black, it's just frozen. It will continue doing this until I either restart or simply log off. The fact that I can log off and it fixes it leads me to believe it is not a hardware issue. I've had enough of those so I hope it's not. After it comes back, the cursor doesn't change icons based on what I'm hovering over, such as a link showing a hand instead of just the default. Whatever icon is currently stuck on the pointer will then turn into some multicolored glitchy version of itself.
If anyone has any clue as to what may be causing this, please share. I will give any additional information as requested. On my new laptop and after around 20 seconds in game minecraft freezes. I have put the graphics on both highest and lowest with no changes. Theres also 2 ways that my minecraft is crashing.
1st: Minecraft just stops and i have to open task manager to close it.
2nd: Minecraft freezes and then i get a black screen. Then it goes back to the main screen, minecraft closes, and then in the bottom right a message pops up saying. "AMD video has stopped responding and has recovered successfully. I tried finding drivers but couldent in the end what now!
have Windows 7 64-bit working properly, and make me feel a bit better about buying it? At the moment it looks like I'm stuck with a bunk OS and am out $200. I'm not happy at all...Here's a summary of the main problems I'm having:System restore doesn't work - I make a save point, but it doesn't see it when I try to restore. I had XP Pro before 7, and the restore function didn't work on that OS eitherIE 8 32-bit doesn't work, it freezes after viewing a page for about 20 seconds. The 64-bit works fine, but I want to use the 32 bit if I can, mainly because I use roboform and that doesn't work on the 64 bit browser. My surround sound only works if set up as a 2 speaker system. No video files will play at allRegardless of the type of video, they give the same error "server execution failed"I use Impulse, from Stardock, which is basically a service like Steam.Impulse runs, but only minimized, it won't come up to the desktop. I had the 32-bit version of 7 installed, and it worked fine there.
There's more, but this is all I can think of atm.I've been working on this sh*t since last Saturday, and am starting to burn out. I need to make a list of the problems so I don't forget what they all are. So far I've installed Windows 4 times; apparently there's a lot of software it just doesn't like (like office 2000 & the zonealarm I have), where loading just frags the whole
In windows 7, sometimes when a game graphic loads, the drive light goes solid and I get a 6 second freeze.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo my keyboard and mouse are completely usable in the bios and during boot, but once the windows login screen opens up, there is a 30+ second delay before the keyboard and mouse become active. This doesn't appear to be a freeze or lag of any type, just like the keyboard and mouse hasn't been recognized yet. I have a printer and several external drives connected to my computer's USB ports, so I tried unplugging everything but the keyboard and mouse. The time goes down to about 5 seconds, however, the last few times I've tried, there was about a 10 second wait for the mouse to work after the keyboard worked. With only the mouse and keyboard plugged in, I feel this must be either 1) an issue with drivers loading or 2) a specific issue with my USB drivers. Here's what I've done so far to try and troubleshoot. Not sure what to do next.Used google (couldn't find anything that looked related enough to try)Unplugged everything but keyboard and mouse from USB ports - Decreased lag time to 5-15 secondsenabled boot logging, checked file for drivers not loading (attached)Checked bios for legacy USB enabled (it was)Double checked AV software (only MS Security Essentials and Malwarebytes installed, malwarebytes does not run any processes unless I start it up)Having multiple USB devices plugged in upon boot should not delay the usability of my keyboard and mouse.

I tried this software and it does do this, but it is also buggy and sometimes the cursor never comes back from hiding.

My mouse icon of my laptop keeps disappearing every now and then, although it does come back after a few seconds, it can prove to be really annoying.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a BSOD yesterday which was most likely from overheating and now 30-60 seconds after I boot it normally, it freezes yet my mouse still moves. Ten second later, all the screen shows is my background. I've tried system restore, then I went it BIOS and ran a test on the system memory which passed, scanned for malware and spyware, used both CCleaner and IObit Advance SystemCare to clean up registry and junk files, and then defragmented the hard drive expecting that might do something and it still freezes.Edit: I've been looking at the start ups and don't see anything that suspicious.[CODE]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently built a new gaming computer. It runs everything smoothly, but there is one glaring problem that I cannot seem to shake. My computer will at unpredictable times halt everything (freeze) for 1-3 seconds and then resume. During this time, all sound seems to be directed to a different audio port. It seemed to start with my audio. I would plug in speakers, and then I would plug in a 3.5mm headset and it would intermittently (and rapidly) detect the headset. Looking at my realtek audio software, the input that the headset was plugged into would rapidly turn on and off. Plugged speakers into that port and it worked with no problems. The headset is not to blame because I used it with no problem on my laptop. I then suspected it was a problem since I was doing dual audio output. I downloaded the newest drivers from the ASUS site for the realtek audio manager. My computer would still do the intermittent freezing. I have read some suggestions that it may be my memory configuration. I am a programmer and not a hardware specialist, so I am unfamiliar with how a memory configuration works and how to correct this problem. I downloaded a memory qvl update from the ASUS site, and it only seemed to bring up a console window for a split second before fading out.

In the last few days my Toshiba Satellite L745-S43210 hasn't been working right. Recently it won't boot up properly. It started to boot up and then it would freeze up seconds after showing my desktop. I managed to go into safe mode and use msconfig to change start up programs and turn it to only the essential items. After that it worked and I tried turning everything back on and it worked fine last night. I assumed it was just overheating from being used so much in the last few days. Now today when I tried starting it up I was able to enter my password but the screen went black with my mouse pointer working. I turned it off and tried again a few times before going into safe mode.
I went back into msconfig again and turned it back to only essential programs and I performed a virus scan with Super Anti-Spyware and Malware Bytes and the only thing that they found were cookies. I cleared them out and booted up windows again and it worked fine. Now I am trying to select only certain programs and choose only the Microsoft, Intel and Toshiba programs/services and now when I boot it up I don't even get the the text box to enter my password, it just shows the blue windows start up screen. Right now I am using Safe Mode With Networking to type this and try messing with start up programs again.
