One of my friends is giving me a disk to install mc afee totoal prtection 2013 because he says u can install it up on three computers. he says its good because its paid and better than free ones.is it good. if not, what free virus protections are good
View 3 RepliesShe did the annual update and it failed leaving no copy of the program on the machine.Long story short I got her into her Mcafee account and dl'd the updated version. It would not install because of a Java error. This is also the problem preventing with her logging onto her bank account.So I updated her Java to version 7 and confirmed it on Java's site.Still no joy. Mcafee will not install for the same reason and by the way, she is updated to SP1 on Win 7.I'll put a log from TSG SysInfo up a bit later.

View 3 Replies View RelatedUnder my Windows 7 performance information it is listed that I have 2.5 Gigs of usable RAM even though I have 4 installed. I think this is because I have 1.5 GB of graphics memory but I don't fully understand what that is. I also don't understand the difference between the listed "dedicated graphics memory(512MB)" and the "shared system memory" that I guess make up the 1.5 GB I'm "missing".I was thinking of installing a 64 bit version of my OS to take full advantage of my installed memory and I think my system is fully capable. I just need to have the right processor and enough memory to make it worth it correct? I assume my motherboard is capable if it is using a capable processor.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from Acronis 2011 to 2013. Please note that Acronis 2011 boot cd works fine: tested booting with this cd and was able to boot to Acronis 2011. Upgraded recently to Acronis 2013 & made boot cd. Booted with 2013 CD. Acronis logo appeared on acreen & under logo appeared "Loading, please wait". I waited 10 minutes & nothing happened. Problem is reproducable. Also downloaded ISO file from Acronis & made Acronis 2013 boot cd. Booted with Acronis ISO cd & have same problem. Not sure what Acronis did in 2013 version as the 2011 cd boots.

Me and my friend go this virus two days apart, and she'd been able to fix it quick within the day, I'm still having problems.I see fixes for it using MBAM, which I've tried. It's installed, but no mater what, I can't run it even if I name it mbam.com, or anything of the sort.Also, my computer won't go into safe mode. I can run it normally, but when I press F8, I can pick to boot off my SARA, or my CD Drive, but piking either of those just takes me to system restore, where I wipe my hard drive which I"ll only do if it's a last resort.

My hard drive was backed up to a cloud storage company and I am now downloading my outlook files. There are around 10 files ending in .pst and another 4 in the form archive1.pst etc.can I merge all the into one outlook.pst file and one archive file?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just installed Office 2013 and decided to give the updated Outlook a fair try. I'm coming from using Thunderbird as my main e-mail program.
I have 10 gmail IMAP accounts setup in Outlook, using to be what I believe are the default settings (I haven't changed anything in any of the accounts). I am not working offline, and I have Outlook set to send/receive every 10 minutes.
In Thunderbird, anytime a new e-mail message is received, it is automatically downloaded and I get an alert sound.
However with Outlook, in order for the e-mail to be downloaded, I have to click on the Inbox of the respective e-mail account in order for it to be automatically downloaded.
This isn't an e-mail account problem because I immediately receive new e-mails via IMAP in Thunderbird and on my phone.
I was wanting to know if anyone been having problems with Outlook 2013. The problem I'm having is that it will stop synchronizing. I have my gmail setup to it and it will send but when it tries to receive it doesn't complete. I've let it run hours at a time to see if it ever complete but it never dose. I also deleted my account and reentered it and still dose the same thing.

When I did this for Office 2010 and got the email from MS, their link was to a download of an ISO file from which I was then able to burn a DVD.
But this time, the download is an executable and the name (Setup.x86.en-US_ProPlusRetail_[product key]_act_1.exe) implies that it is an installer. I really don't want to install it right now; instead, I want to download it and burn a DVD -- and install it later. What the installer program actually does?

I've updated Kingdoms to the latest update and tried reinstalling and uninstalling but nothing happens. It's only Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms and not the original Medieval 2 Total War.I've also installed the SecuROM diagnositcs tool but that fails every time I try it so now I've run out of ideas except that I think the data on the disk may be screwed even though theres no scratches on the disk.

My windows has crashed so I have nothing just a black screen (except I could get internet from task manager and so can write this). I can't even run my symantec or other systems to do a virus check/repair because I can't access them on the computer. What can i do?

However, in Windows 7 it is showing 1.18TB free of 678GB, so it recognizes the correct free space, but is still showing the old HDD total. I've removed the mappings and readded and rebooted both my PC and WHS with no luck.
