Mar 16, 2009I can't run Empire Total War full version.I've tried with compatibility modes and "run as administrator", I reinstalled directx and I installed the last drivers of Nvidia.

2.5 GB Usable Of 4 Total In Windows 7?
Oct 11, 2011Under my Windows 7 performance information it is listed that I have 2.5 Gigs of usable RAM even though I have 4 installed. I think this is because I have 1.5 GB of graphics memory but I don't fully understand what that is. I also don't understand the difference between the listed "dedicated graphics memory(512MB)" and the "shared system memory" that I guess make up the 1.5 GB I'm "missing".I was thinking of installing a 64 bit version of my OS to take full advantage of my installed memory and I think my system is fully capable. I just need to have the right processor and enough memory to make it worth it correct? I assume my motherboard is capable if it is using a capable processor.

Apr 9, 2011Me and my friend go this virus two days apart, and she'd been able to fix it quick within the day, I'm still having problems.I see fixes for it using MBAM, which I've tried. It's installed, but no mater what, I can't run it even if I name it mbam.com, or anything of the sort.Also, my computer won't go into safe mode. I can run it normally, but when I press F8, I can pick to boot off my SARA, or my CD Drive, but piking either of those just takes me to system restore, where I wipe my hard drive which I"ll only do if it's a last resort.

Feb 19, 2011one day it just shut down and would not startup any more, it goes straight to startup repair and fails and loops this. i have fixed this issue before, with bootrec tools on the 7 CD, but this time it wont do anything, no matter what i try it tells me "total identified windows installations: 0"does anyone know what to do, other than a fresh install, since i have hundreds of gbs of music and movies not recently backed up, and lots of work on the drive i cannot lose.

I've updated Kingdoms to the latest update and tried reinstalling and uninstalling but nothing happens. It's only Medieval 2 Total War Kingdoms and not the original Medieval 2 Total War.I've also installed the SecuROM diagnositcs tool but that fails every time I try it so now I've run out of ideas except that I think the data on the disk may be screwed even though theres no scratches on the disk.

Oct 28, 2012To start, I have Windows 7, on Sony Vaio laptop. I have been working on the issues with the malware removal team, but now machine looks clean, I am still having issues. When starting the computer and going to the task manager, I can watch explorer.exe start at about 18K memory usage and then grow constantly until it is running with almost all of the computer's physical memory after about seven min. I cannot get the context menu to show up after a few min by right clicking on anything. I had been experiencing "freezing" while playing Eden Eternal (an online role playing game) before that, which made me consider malware and seek help here at BleepingComputer. The freezing has ended, last time I played on that machine at least, but now there seems to be some issue with the explorer.exe taking all of the memory. I haven't been using the machine since I don't trust that there's not something running in the background that shouldn't be. In resource monitor there were "connections" that had "-" for both the name and the PID, but I don't know if that was the malware of if that's normal somehow? Issue with explorer.exe seems to be limited to only one user account, and not the other one. That is to say that if I log on one of the other accounts explorer.exe behaves normally, as far as memory usage.

Sep 25, 2011I have an ASUS N51Vf on which I just changed a defective hard drive with a new one, same size and specs as the old.After a clean windows 7 install all was working fine. I created a System Restore Point. No errors reported, restore point created.I then tried to restore all my data and settings with a back up I had on a external hard drive.This back up has been made with LaCie Genie Back up Assistant, a program with decent review online.After having finished to restore the back up, I was asked to restart windows, which I did. Windows restarted but then it failed to log in giving an error (which appears to be quite common googling it). A window pop up saying "Interactive logon process initialization has failed. Please consult the event log for more details."If you say ok the windows keeps appearing again and again.There was no way to access windows whatever mode (safe, normal and all the other boot option appearing when pressing f8) I choosed. Startup repair was as well ineffective (since there was no problem in the startup process itself.)
People online reported the only way to fix this was to check the event log files on another computer. So I installed Ubuntu on the unallocated space I left when installing win 7, I copied the logs files, I went through all the errors in the event viewer of another computer, particularly those in application.evtx, I copied safe version of winlogon.exe logonUI.exe and userInit.exe on windows/system32 through Ubuntu but nothing worked. Same error preventing log in.I then went into the System Restore Point nasty affair. As I previously mentioned, I created this point prior to restore the LaCie backup. The Restore point was there, accessible through the standard recovery options. What appears is this: standard final window of System Restore and I couldn't select any of this drive and proceed.So I go to the Command Prompt and I realize that windows has been installed on D:, not on C:, which appears to be the system reserved partition with 70Mb free. Something standard when you install Windows 7 apparently. Since my backup was made copying files from C: and I didn't care for the path when restoring my LaCie backup, I thought I messed up things attempting to copy to the wrong drive, even though no error was reported to me.So I formatted everything, reinstalled windows paying attention not to create other partitions. Clean install, all went through fine. I check on Computer what's the windows unit label, and it is C indeed. I didn't check for the presence of other partitions. I re-restore files from the LaCie Backup. At the end I try to create a new System Restore point, but a weird error tells me that I can't. Already suspicious, I restart, to find myself on the exact same position as before, unable to login, unable to restore (both same as previously described) and, moreover, checking through command prompt, win 7 appears to be in the D: unit again with the C: set up to be the system reserved!!

May 18, 2010I am using Windows7 and IE8 on a Dell2350. The computer was working fine till last Friday and now I can't download anything. I keep getting a message saying "Unable to download... Unable to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later." The dialog box itself doesn't show how big the file is or the download speed or the time left. I also keep getting a message saying a program has corrutped my program setting.

Jun 12, 2011I used Acer's function to restore my computer to factory settings, and I picked the option to save backup files.
I can find the backup folder, and I know the files are there because the folders take up quite a bit of size, but there are no programs in the folder. The only programs I have been able to get was through MTGO. It found the files some how. Excel, word, etc can't find those files. Even the ones MTGO found I can only see using the program.
Does anyone know how I can get my old prgrams back?

So, when I try to launch a game (For example Warcraft 3) The program shows the launch image, and when that disappears, the program appears in task manager taking up only 100-3000 Kb of memory, never rising. When I end said task, my computer slows down to a snail pace and I need to restart. I've run virus scans, and every time they come up with nothing. I tried to system restore, but I also don't have any restore points other than the system update I did this morning. The problem started in about February of this year, and goes off and on for about a week or two. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 build 7601, with avast! antivirus.
