I recently upgraded from Acronis 2011 to 2013. Please note that Acronis 2011 boot cd works fine: tested booting with this cd and was able to boot to Acronis 2011. Upgraded recently to Acronis 2013 & made boot cd. Booted with 2013 CD. Acronis logo appeared on acreen & under logo appeared "Loading, please wait". I waited 10 minutes & nothing happened. Problem is reproducable. Also downloaded ISO file from Acronis & made Acronis 2013 boot cd. Booted with Acronis ISO cd & have same problem. Not sure what Acronis did in 2013 version as the 2011 cd boots.
I'm building a new pc for a friend at the moment. Obviously I'll need to install Windows, Drivers and all of the updates etc. But after I've finished that I'd like to somehow make it so when my friend first boots up the PC it asks her to create a user account etc. Exactly as if she bought it from a shop and it's never been used. I'm not sure this is even possible, or how to do it.
as I have been unsuccessful finding a solution at the ATI forums I thought I would try to pick the minds of all the clever people here. Does any know how to prevent 'AMD VISION Engine Control Center' from creating a start menu program folder at boot?
I have one HDD C: with Windows 7 64bit and another HDD from my previous dual boot PC with two partitions C: and E:, both winX pro.How is it possible to combine both HDDs, creating a multi boot system having as C: my Windows 7 drive?
Under computer I go to my drive of folders. When I click new folder either by right clicking or by hitting new folder the system then creates 2 or 3 new folders at one time. I then have to go back and delete the extra folders. At first I did not mind because it only happened once or twice and now it is every time.
I used to play the game without any problems on xp sp3 after i have installed windows 7 home basic,I experience lag while playing the game when i first start it runs smoothly but when the first half is about to end it starts lagging the lag increase as long as i play until it becomes very annoying.
I have Visio 2010 64bit and just recieved office 2013 from work 32 bit. It will not allow me to install office while still having visio 64 bit installed. I got the visio from a collage website while in school and no longer have the key, it looks like when I try to open it, it is trying to install office all over again since I uninstalled office 2010.
I just installed Office 2013 and decided to give the updated Outlook a fair try. I'm coming from using Thunderbird as my main e-mail program.
I have 10 gmail IMAP accounts setup in Outlook, using to be what I believe are the default settings (I haven't changed anything in any of the accounts). I am not working offline, and I have Outlook set to send/receive every 10 minutes.
In Thunderbird, anytime a new e-mail message is received, it is automatically downloaded and I get an alert sound.
However with Outlook, in order for the e-mail to be downloaded, I have to click on the Inbox of the respective e-mail account in order for it to be automatically downloaded.
This isn't an e-mail account problem because I immediately receive new e-mails via IMAP in Thunderbird and on my phone.
I was wanting to know if anyone been having problems with Outlook 2013. The problem I'm having is that it will stop synchronizing. I have my gmail setup to it and it will send but when it tries to receive it doesn't complete. I've let it run hours at a time to see if it ever complete but it never dose. I also deleted my account and reentered it and still dose the same thing.
My company recently made Office 2013 Pro Plus available to its employees through the Home Use Program --so I went on line and purchased a license. When I did this for Office 2010 and got the email from MS, their link was to a download of an ISO file from which I was then able to burn a DVD.
But this time, the download is an executable and the name (Setup.x86.en-US_ProPlusRetail_[product key]_act_1.exe) implies that it is an installer. I really don't want to install it right now; instead, I want to download it and burn a DVD -- and install it later. What the installer program actually does?
not sure if this has been posted already but WLM is being replaced with SKYPE as from Mar 2013.I know a lot of Ms Office users use Windows Live Messenger (although LYNC seems good if you can connect to a server) BBC News - Microsoft ditches Windows Live Messenger for Skype
One of my friends is giving me a disk to install mc afee totoal prtection 2013 because he says u can install it up on three computers. he says its good because its paid and better than free ones.is it good. if not, what free virus protections are good
I a new HP Pavilion Slimline x64, with Windows 7 Ultimate x64. I installed Acronis 11.0 TI on it to create a backup of my computer to store on my external hardrive.
However, when I go to select the drive to backup, only the external drive, the G: drive, shows up in the list to select. I can see the C: drive from my other computers in my home network, and from the slimline PC, but, Acronis does not see it. Thus, I am unable to create the backup. The C: drive is a Hatachi HS72101CLA630 SATA Disk Drive
I have been to the Acronis forum and tried the suggestions there to uninstall, reinstall Acronis, and still the C: drive does not show up.
I have used this same Acronis on all my other computers to create backups and never had any problem, even with others that have the Windows 7 x64 as well. So I am wondering if anyone here has ever used Acronis and if so, ever had a problem with it not seeing the C: drive to select as the source drive?
Every time I start up Autodesk 3ds Max 2013, I get a BSOD shortly after it begins initializing with the error of PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Everything else runs fine, and Autodesk products are the only things that cause any form of error. What do I do to make this no longer happen?
So the question is in the title. Outlook 2013 gives me notifications about newly received junk mail which I don't want to see. Can I somehow disable that feature and let it notify me just when regular email is received?
this is my first time using Acronis and I don't want to blow it.I'm ready to do a restore to solve my corrupted type and a few related problems.I'm booting from the Acronis Recovery CD.Once I'm in Acronis I have a few questions. I select Recover My Disks. In Archive Selection.I select the back up which is on an external hard drive.Recover whole disk and partitions.Select items to recover.
I have a 2TB in my desktop that i use for backups. I have my desktop backed up onto it and my usb drives. I am using acronis so that i can create an image backup and i am trying to save it onto the network drive. The folder is shared using the advanced settings. When i select the network location in acronis to save the backup it asks for the password, i type in my user name for my desktop but i dont have a password set. It wont let me continue without typing a passcode in. But there is none.Do i have to define a password to use network shares?
After getting ti 2010 working initially in new windows 7 install, I now get the dreaded "program stops working" which appears to be the new BSOD for windows 7. This happens at initial launch and sometimes into point where I select location of backup folder. I've tried reinstalling about a dozen times to no avail and I've even used the cleaner utility with no success. I've tried the following version of true image home 2010: 6053, 7046, 7154 and 7160. Is there a preferred version for windows 7 or should these versions be installed in a certain order? All I'm trying to do is backup an ssd drive (C) to an external 3 tb drive. This should not be a complicated event.
I've also posted this message on Acronis Forum but have not yet received any responses. I hope to do better here.If there's no solution can someone recommend backup software that is very reliable and easy to use. All I want to do is do full backup from ssd drive and data disks to an external usb drive on a regular basis.
Trying to install Win 7 Ent. 32 bit on a custom built P4 2.6GHz, 768mb RAM.Windows will not start after Acronis image or via just windows install due to error OxO.Searched around but most people just say to turn on the E.. data transfer thing in the BIOS but that is already on (IDE HDD BTW).

I don't understand what is the point. Why they need creating AV now...
For those who don't know yet.
It's a new security suite by well known back-up software Acronis.
Acronis Backup and Security 2010:
Acronis Backup & Security 2010 is the first home PC protection solution to protect you from both internal threats causing data loss and external threats which can lead to security vulnerabilities. It combines three essential elements into one product:
Internet security (full protection from external viruses, spam and malware). Local backup (back up and recover any and all of your data very quickly using our patented, award-winning, disk-imaging technology) Online backup (keep important financial files, photos and other documents offsite in a heavily secured facility, readily accessible 24 hours a day from any location)
for backups of my main OS (in my signature) I have acronis TIH create a single image full backup daily to a different drive. Weekly a single image backup is created and saved on a different drive. Because my SSDs are in RAID0, every few weeks I make a system image backup using Acronis (outside of the daily and weekly backups), clean/all the SSDs to put everything back to 0 on the drives, then restore my installation. It makes a significant performance increase for sure. This last go around a week ago, I did the usual but could not restore no matter what I did. I bought the new version of acronis, the plus pack, unplugged all the other drives, etc etc etc that acronis told me to do to try to fix the error I was getting restoring any backups. Finally what I did was take an old backup, transfer it over the network to a different computer, bought acronis TIH again (ridiculous) and was able to clone it to a drive, plug the drive back into my main rig, boot acronis from a USB drive and clone that installation to the SSD raid setup. The only problem was, the backup I was able to use was from 7-10. I'm now trying to convert the images which would not restore to VHD to boot from the bootmgr screen of the currently restored (7-10) installation.Every tutorial I see only deals with creating a new .vhd to install windows to and boot.
Quote: Acronis International has released a beta version of True Image Lite 2013, a stripped-down version of its True Image backup tool. The new release ditches disk, partition, email and file backup types, for instance (theres non-stop backup and online backup only). There are no full or differential backups (just incremental). No scheduling, no backups to CDs, DVDs or Blu-ray, no option to create a bootable recovery disc, and of course none of the extensive settings youll find in the full True Image package.
