my computer likes to underscan when I connect to my 720p plasma tv over HDMI. it doesn't do this over VGA though. The problem is, In order to play Blu-Ray disks my software FORCES me to connect over HDMI, and my TV doesn't support DVI.I managed to get it close, but the pixel mapping is off. I can't get it any closer, as the adjustments only go by 5% increments.
View 1 RepliesI'm out of ideas. Tried several different drivers, and settings. Using a fresh install of Windows 7 RC. The drivers all seem to "work", by which I mean Windows 7 has no problem with them, but no driver I've tried will let the card actually talk with anything. It keeps trying to find a DHCP address and always comes up with a 169 address. Even when I specify a static IP it still won't see anything on the network.
DHCP is working for my on board NIC, and this card works in my XP installation on this same PC.
The driver that seems to "work" the best so far is this: Download HP Intel PRO/1000 Gigabit Driver 13.5.00 Rev.C for Vista64 Driver for Windows Vista64 - Softpedia
With that driver I actually get all of the nifty features in the driver properties page, and I've run all of it's diagnostic tests which all come up green.
Also worth nothing: I had this same problem with Windows 7 Beta.
When playing back two channel pcm music on my diy home theater computer, the output begins to progressively contain random static as additional tracks are played. The operating system is windows 7 64 bit. There are no issues with 5.1 audio as it is always clean.My motherboard is an Asrock H67M and my processor is an i3-2100. The computer is connected to a Yamaha receiver via an HDMI cable.Video from the i3-2100 is outstanding on my 52" Sony TV. I am using the on board Intel display audio device as this appears to be the only way to transmit digital audio output to the receiver via HDMI. The only way to get clean sound when the static becomes unbearable is to turn the computer off and reboot. I'm not sure it matters, but the computer does contain a TV card.

My old Vaio VGN-Z (Nvidia Geforce 9300GS) had no issues when closing laptop lid.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue of HDMI working during PC boot, but TV loses signal just before Windows 7 log in screen comes up (TV shows "No Signal" at this point). If I use VGA to connect PC to TV, everything works fine. [code] One thing I noticed is that Windows 7 device manager sees my TV as a "Generic PNP Monitor". I have no idea if this is connected to my issue or not. The Intel website says my drivers are up to date when I run their update utility. The Intel Graphics utility on my PC sees my TV as a monitor, not as a TV, but it does list the correct model # (M260MV).I've tried connecting both the TV with HDMI and a PC Monitor with the VGA cable and the computer would only detect the PC monitor with the VGA cable.I have read on an Intel site that others with the Core i3 CPU had similar problems so this may be a CPU/CPU driver issue, but as I said, the Intel Update Utility says my drivers are up to date.

After trying a full list of things; 2 different monitors 2 different VGA cables 3 different mice 3 different keyboards change power supply change graphics card used onboard graphics switched ram sticks and removed one at a time reformatted a dozen of times unplugged all sound from computer checked motherboard for any visual problems and couldn't see any updated all drivers I could possibly think of Ran Memtest for 7 passes with no errors I've finally found out the problem and that was when I connected my graphics card using HDMI to a HDMI compatable monitor it worked fine and I had no more lines!
So it seems that using HDMI is working fine but soon as I use a VGA cable its not working and the lines are back. It only confused me more when I connected a VGA cable from another computer to the monitor it all worked fine.
As far as I can tell it's something to do with my computers VGA/HDMI settings, I've tried onboard VGA and that still didn't work so it doesn't seem to be a graphics card problem just something is stopping VGA working properly but HDMI is working.
I'm gonna have to go buy an expensive new monitor with HDMI compatability.
I want to watch my laptop on the tv. iv pluged in the cable the screen comes on the tv but only small. iv tried to change the resolution and download a tv tunner but they arnt workking.

I had XP and Vista 32bit installed previously and the graphics drivers would have an extra option to change the horizontal and vertical position of the screen. But now with Seven x64 and the drivers downloaded from Update, I can't seem to fix the problem.
Whenever I have a program maximized on my hdtv a few pixels width wise will be off screen. Just enough to have the menu bars and scroll bars off screen. Are there any third party programs to fix this? I tried installing x64 Vista drivers and they would invert and wash out the colors on my screen, totally unusable.
When I connect my HDMI cable to my laptop and the TV my PC screen goes black. When i take out the cable it becomes OK
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is on a loptop Meldon E6882, running windows 7, to a LED TV HD. From a cold boot both the laptop monitor and HDMI screen show the windows starting screen .. But the HDMI screen goes blank when the login screen appears. I have tried different screen resolutions. No Luck. I have tried from the 'screen resolution' page to get automatically detect the HDMI - No luck I have tried from the 'screen resolution' page to manually select HDMI. Only offers VGA or component, no HDMI.
I think this maybe a disabled driver as I did a manual disabling of these some time ago in order to try and reduce the boot time. I cannot recall the names of the drivers I have put into manual start (some time ago), nor have I found any info on what drivers are needed for the HDMI. i've just built a htpc using some old bits from a gaming pc, but when streaming videos full screen the audio and video are very choppy, with the audio including crackling sounds. for example, if i watch a 1080p video on Internet, it works reasonably well (with the odd pop from the audio) but as the controls overlay (with the play, pause and video slider) slides away the video slows down and there is a lot of crackling from the audio. there is an even worse problem with bbc iplayer and skygo when watching on fullscreen as the entire time the video almost seems slowed down and the audio is very choppy. if however i watch a downloaded video fullscreen, there are absolutely no problems at all.i have only just build this pc so i believe all drivers are up to date. i'm using windows 7 and have therefore disabled aero to see if that helps (it helped slightly). the hardware is as follows:
cpu: core 2 duo e8400 at 3ghz
graphics card: nvidia gt 430
motherboard: gigabyte ga x48 ds4
ram: 4gb ocz reaperx
for my old gaming pc i used all the same parts apart from using a gtx 460 for the graphics. this was then set up exactly the same way as this new htpc (into a samsung tv via hdmi from the graphics card) and yet worked absolutely fine. so the only thing that has changed is the graphics card, but the gt 430 is supposed to be able to easily handle hd video and audio.
I have connected my hdmi cable as usual but this time i had on tv display NO SIGNAL. When i connect another pc to check the cable it seems to work correctly.The problem is coming from my pc.

I'm using an HDMI to HDMI cable, and like I said the video is fine. Also, when the cable is plugged into my boyfriend's laptop, the sound comes out of the TV.
So this must mean the problem is with my computer specifically. Although, this computer is only a month old, so I wouldn't think anything is out of date.

Turns on straight to blue intel desktop screen again. Tried shutting down, unplugging, pressing power again to make sure it's off. Same thing.
Tried CTRL ALT DELETE, no response. Tried throwing keyboard...nothing...
But why would it stay on this screen even after shut down and unplud for more then 30 seconds? More than a minute?
It is like it was never turned off, and it gives me no options to boot from my backup drive or F8. just turns on to blue intel screen? Running windows 7...
i decide to reinstall my computer from windows 7 32 home bit into windows 7 64 bit, everything works fine until i decide to install the lates intel vga driver, after restarting the computer, the screen keep showing grid lines like this pic. t

I was previously using XP SP3 on a intel 915GAV mobo. It installed the Intel Extreme Graphics which showed many resolutions for my monitor. After installing Windows 7 I only get 3 options of resolution. Any workaround for this? Cannot find any graphic drivers for this mobo.

I tested the cable with the blue ray player and it works fine. I called Dell (still under warranty) an they were useless.I've checked the settings on the PC and I have it set to "extended" so I can see the monitor on both....no luck. The printer is a hybrid: parallel port connector with a USB connector coming out of it.

See, I have a AM3+ motherboard, and currently a FX 6200 clocked at 4.2GHz, thing is, I feel when I try to play say BF3 on a 32 man server, My pc run's smooth, yet come to a 64 man server, My PC feels sluggish and well fails. Now I know Its going to effect my FPS and CPU usage with what settings in game am I running, well Ultra I don't use I mainly use a mix of medium and high, to Me its all about performance before eye candy, but BF3 seems to have no performance boost the lower I turn the settings down, I mean with one card I get 98-99% usage but in SLI I get 50% on each card with v sync disabled and on ultra I have even tried with settings on low and enabling v sync, lol that is just worse! I have been told the higher the settings, the higher the usage, and my cpu seems to be lagging behind.I know there is things to take into consideration like the Ram, Graphics, Hard drives, Lag ect, But I'm running two GTX 480's, 2 Velociraptor Hdd, 16GB Corsair Dominator Ram, a Corsair HX 1050w psu and Windows 8.Come January I'm planning a upgrade, but what My dilemma is should I move to Intel has I feel my issue is a major bottleneck with the 480's and my CPU, I don't want to buy a 200 cpu (8350) and a few months down the line have to invest in a Intel because the Pile driver has failed like the Bulldozer did! Or just upgrade to a Intel i5 or i7, I mainly game but do video work as well, even considering getting a i7 2600k or 2700k,

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am missing well over 1000 files. A good deal of those are .gif files. When I go to the child folder they were in, it is empty as are all the child folders. When I use Windows Search to search the parent folder for *.gif, the results show 1000 of the files in the child folder they were in. They appear with the Irfanview icon, which is the default viewer and a .gif extension. They are way too small, < 1 kb. Irfanview cant open them, "...cant read the file header. unknown file format or file not found." I admit Im fried enough to have some how, possibly, maybe deleted a whole folder while doing a clean up, but it is still there and I cant possibly imagine selecting that many files and doing anything with all of them
