This printer is about 5 years old. It is perfect for my needs, but HP will not issue a Win 7 driver for it. I REALLY don't want to buy another . I have been given lots of advice, and tried all sorts of options. Once I did actually manage to print something.
The printer is a hybrid: parallel port connector with a USB connector coming out of it.
Please can someone advise me how to get this going?

I see no reason to junk a perfectly good printer ( especially as I still have thrre new toner cartridges - not cheap!)

When I use Windows Search to search the parent folder for *.gif, the results show 1000 of the files in the child folder they were in. They appear with the Irfanview icon, which is the default viewer and a .gif extension. They are way too small, < 1 kb. Irfanview cant open them, "...cant read the file header. unknown file format or file not found." I admit Im fried enough to have some how, possibly, maybe deleted a whole folder while doing a clean up, but it is still there and I cant possibly imagine selecting that many files and doing anything with all of them

I've been having issues with two of my games, Hearts of Iron II and Civilization V.earts of Iron will play for a couple 'days' or a couple months before crashing. While Civ V could play for a while or crash instantly depending on what I select. I checked the Event logs for these crashes to get these[CODE]Now I've run some tests on my memory and it seems everything is physically.I ran some registry fixes that claimed to fix things, but didn't resolve anything. I uninstalled and re-installed the video driver.I've tried uninstalling and then re installing the games themselves. It should probably be noted I just recently installed a harddrive and this problem has only been since then. My current suspicion is that something is messing with my CPU usage and these two strategy games are burning through the memory for some reason

This is like saturated 100 mbps connectivity. I am not getting anything close to this with the new router.

Windows 7 picked up the headset fine and everything has been working "straight out of the box".
I only had to change the name of the device in audio properties to distinguish between speakers and headset. Mic has worked perfectly and sounds fine with no adjustments. (Tested on ventrillo)
The only thing drivers/package seems to offer is changing EQ settings or various "technologies" available which im not interested in.
or is there something else i'm missing which I would need the drivers for?
