What kind of laptop would be best?
My business is websites, so I almost automatically jump to an apple since its pushed more for the graphics/artists
But I also like the dells & alienwares.
I'd also like them to talk wirelessly/via bluetooth while they are in the same room together to "sync" up.
I'm just not sure which way to go.
I wont be gaming, just heaving internet surfing & web design/work.
I run Windows 7 64 & Ubuntu 64 (though I havent used it as much since Windows 7 64 came out)
I've had my ipod for over a year and it is jailbroken. One day my ipod couldn't sync with itunes and i figured out that my apple usb driver wasn't listed in device manager. I uninstalled itunes and everything and reinstalled it but it didn't help. I need to put music on my ipod and backup my apps.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy main computer is a DELL running Windows 7. It is hard-wired to a BT hub and has an Epson printer connected via USB.
My last laptop, which has gone kaput, was a Samsung netpad running Windows 7 Starter and this connected to the printer no problem.
I have just bought an Apple MacBook Air and want to connect it to the printer but cannot get the network to recognise it. It is fully functional on the wi-fi network but just wont find or connect to either the main computer or the printer.

View 4 Replies View Related1st- the Apple keyboard (model # MB110LL/A) isn't listed as compatible with Windows 7. But I like it very much & had an extra one & decided to make use if it on my Windows 7 PC. The only issue I have using it on my PC is that the powered USB hub on the keyboard only works with the mouse. If I plug in a flash card I get a Power has been exceeded error. I have plenty of other hubs to use but I'm just curious why this hub works perfect on my iMac but not on Windows 7 (64-bit). I've installed all Bootcamp drivers but it still errors. So, here's how Apple's version of Device Manager looks; refer to as Keyboard Hub.My guess is somehow Apple allocates additional power when needed to it's USB hubs whereas Windows does not (Windows has a max of 500mA). There are several references to Extra Operating Current (see photo) to perhaps support that. Anyways, the only question I have is there a way to fix this? Perhaps a motherboard setting (Gigabyte) or a different driver.
View 1 Replies View Relatedusing an Apple Airport Express device on my existing wireless network? I've combed the web, tried several things and zero luck.
One thing I did learn is that the apple device seems to want WEP2 type security, but that totally knocks out my wireless connection from my pc to the network. I changed it to WEP and got my computer connected again but either way I could not use, access or "see" the apple device.
I will ask for Leopard first since this is what most people are using.
I tried to set up the networking with the Apple machines last night to no avail, rather, this morning. Has anyone had success doing so? According to everything I have read, it should be fairly straight forward, yet it is not connecting.
Any ideas?
I used to use a MBP as my main computer, coupled with a 30" Apple Cinema Display (Model A1083 - purchased three years ago). I recently purchased a PC (i7-950 3.06 GHz; AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB; Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) to use as my home computer, and the MBP for mobile purposes. However, I cannot get the new PC to recognize the native resolution of the Apple Cinema Display (2560x1600). The monitor shows a maximum display resolution of 1200x800. I am using the only connection the monitor has to hook into the PC -- DVI-D Dual Link.In the screen options, under Control Panel, it shows the monitor as "CINEMA" but the drivers reflect "Generic PnP monitor".
From what I can discern, people used to use WinACD (WinACD | Download WinACD software for free at SourceForge.net) as a fix for this common issue, but the file has been discontinued and the last version was made for WindowsXP.
I have a custon ASUS m48A89GTD MOBO runnin windows 7, and a apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse with a cheap generic USB bluetooth dongle, which runs on a "broadcom 2.0 + USB dongle driver" .The keyboard and mouse pair with no problem, i can restart the pc and re-pair the devices perfectly. However, if i manually remove the dongle and reconnect it, all pairing info is lost and have to re-pair,
While the pc is shut down, the dongle remains lit with a "standby" power supply, If i remove the dongle and reconnect it, even if the pc is off, the problem repeats itself.same goes if i disconnect the pc from the wall outlet.Apparently the dongle has to remain "powered" for it to remember all the pairing and devices info.this is quite annoying, because i have to whip out my wired keyboard to re-pair every time this happens.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L305 Series laptop with 2 GB of RAM, Intel Celeron, and 182 GB hard drive space. I really want to get the Apple Magic Mouse. Will that work on a Windows 7 PC? My computer doesn't have Bluetooth, but I am planning on getting a Bluetooth adapter for laptop as well. Will that work? Also, does the magic mouse come with a Bluetooth adapter, or do I have to buy an adapter separately?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a total of six computers on my network - 2 running Windows 7 and 4 running XP. With the exception of one computer, all of the machines see each other on the network and can share files. One XP machine does not see the shared folders of my new Win 7 machine but does list it as a "workgroup" computer. When I try to access the computer itself I am prompted for a password. Passwords are turned off on the Win 7 machine and none of the other computers on the network get prompted for passwords to access this computer. I assumed that it was due to the setting on the Win 7 machine but they are all set for sharing with everyone on the network. Passwords are off. Firewall is off as well. The network name is consistent across all the machines. I've been unable to find any information on why just one computer on the network would be prompted for a password to access another computer on the network.

Any ideas why one of my Windows 7 machines can't access one of my XP machines? All are hardwired thru a router, not wireless.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 to the point now where I can access computers on our network but they cannot access the Windows 7 computer. Our XP PC sporadically can see our Windows 7 computer but that's all, it doesn't see the network printer connected to it. I've named and renamed the printer, added XP drivers to Windows 7 and I'm completely baffled at this point. (I have the firewall off on the Windows 7 PC). So far I'm not thrilled with Windows 7 and hope they don't attempt to release it anytime in the near future, my computers and network has always setup easily and ran flawless with XP and Vista but with Windows 7 it's been a battle all the way.
