Apple Keyboard On Windows - Driver Doesn't Function At All
Apr 11, 2011
Keyboard driver doesn't function at all.I have tried downloading a few sets of drivers, but couldnt find any that would treat the apple keyboard like mac os x does...
I've had my ipod for over a year and it is jailbroken. One day my ipod couldn't sync with itunes and i figured out that my apple usb driver wasn't listed in device manager. I uninstalled itunes and everything and reinstalled it but it didn't help. I need to put music on my ipod and backup my apps.
1st- the Apple keyboard (model # MB110LL/A) isn't listed as compatible with Windows 7. But I like it very much & had an extra one & decided to make use if it on my Windows 7 PC. The only issue I have using it on my PC is that the powered USB hub on the keyboard only works with the mouse. If I plug in a flash card I get a Power has been exceeded error. I have plenty of other hubs to use but I'm just curious why this hub works perfect on my iMac but not on Windows 7 (64-bit). I've installed all Bootcamp drivers but it still errors. So, here's how Apple's version of Device Manager looks; refer to as Keyboard Hub.My guess is somehow Apple allocates additional power when needed to it's USB hubs whereas Windows does not (Windows has a max of 500mA). There are several references to Extra Operating Current (see photo) to perhaps support that. Anyways, the only question I have is there a way to fix this? Perhaps a motherboard setting (Gigabyte) or a different driver.
I recently upgraded my Sony Vaio VGN-730E/B from Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit to Windows 7 Professional 64bit. According to the Microsoft Tool for upgrading to Windows 7 and the specs for the notebook upgrading to Windows 7 64bit is possible. have tracked down and modded drivers for Nvidia GeForce 8400M GT, Wireless Card, Ethernet Adapter, Motherboard, Synaptic Touchpad...
- which is the problem, the touchpad driver invalidates my keyboard...
- if I don't install the driver, they scroll function of the touchpad doesn't work
Also, I am unable to find a driver for my keyboard or peripheral buttons on the laptop...It's not a big deal, but my eject button for my DVD Rom device doesn't function...
I have a custon ASUS m48A89GTD MOBO runnin windows 7, and a apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse with a cheap generic USB bluetooth dongle, which runs on a "broadcom 2.0 + USB dongle driver" .The keyboard and mouse pair with no problem, i can restart the pc and re-pair the devices perfectly. However, if i manually remove the dongle and reconnect it, all pairing info is lost and have to re-pair,
While the pc is shut down, the dongle remains lit with a "standby" power supply, If i remove the dongle and reconnect it, even if the pc is off, the problem repeats itself.same goes if i disconnect the pc from the wall outlet.Apparently the dongle has to remain "powered" for it to remember all the pairing and devices info.this is quite annoying, because i have to whip out my wired keyboard to re-pair every time this happens.
I have a desktop windows 7 64bit O/S. All is fine when I boot up but after a while the P/S2 keyboard & mouse stop working. The drivers are up to date. The computer is only a few months old. Is this a hardware problem or a software one? should I take it back to the shop?
I received an update to windows 7 on my hp PC. One of the updates was for nvidia software, however I noticed that after this update that when watching video on full screen that the image was much brighter more contrasty and sharper, so I fouterd (fiddled)about with the various nvidia menus to no avail.I'll just do a system restore and that should sort it The only good bit was that my full screen mode was back to normal; but it the first thing that happened was that when I went to type my password I couldn't type using the keyboard so I had to use the easy access on screen keyboard using my mouse.Even with windows up and running the keyboard simply won't function, in desperation I tried a couple more restore points and none them worked. I used the F8 KEY with keyboard to get into safe mode and this worked but as soon as the password is needed the keyboard is not here or even in safe mode it's not there. But the keyboard obviously functions since I can use it F8 mode; now the latest thing is that any system restore points fail.In F8 mode selection I notice that there is the option of Computer Repair but if I take this route does this mean that all my software will be removed? To be honest I don't care what the reason is or why this has happened I just accept that glitches can occur and all I really want to know is how to get out of this predicament.
keyboard keys 1, 2, 3,...0 & shift to get characters above them display wrong characters - the ALL display the same, & it's always the last other key typed...Dell inspiron 530 core 2 quad 6600. what caused this: had vista 32 bit home premium, upgraded to 7 home premium. it takes ONLY usb keyboards - tried 2 diff ones that work perfectly on my 2 other desktops. what's even more weird, go into ease of access center & put onscreen keyboard up, IT WORKS FINE! in addition, i accessed it through team viewer from my laptop, TYPES THE #'s FINE! i'm very knowledgeable with PC's as i refurb for resale - tried re-installing drivers, triple checked language & regional settings.
When I took over a PC used by my predecessor, he had Win 7 (MS keyboard) set up so that the Windows key to the right of the space bar and Alt key will dump "http://www." into any open text field. This saves me a lot of time on a repetitive task with our software. However, when I asked one of our best developers how I could assign "mailto:" to another key, he had no idea how the existing functionality was set up. Googling "Windows 7 hotkeys" didn't find me any tips. What to do?
After recently purchasing a new pc, I have found that my copy and paste function no longer works correctly. When I copy something, half of the time it does not paste, or pastes a random single letter. Is this a problem that could easily be fixed, or could it be something that has infected my pc?
Can anyone help me get my Apple Laser-writer 8500 working in Windows 7? I have the IP address assigned and can ping the printer. I just can't find a driver to install.
i am on windows 7 and for a week, my keyboard doesn't work. the key p, return, tab, and some others won't work. ma visual keyboard works fine - except the question mark - . i tried the pilots, and the computer says it has the best pilots so no need to update. i don't know where it comes from, but then, after a windows update, my keyboard came back to normal. it worked fine for three days and then, again, it screw up. it's always the same keys that don't work, so i don't think my keyboard is worn out. my computer is only one year old. it's a sony vaio laptop. each time i press the p key, for example, the start button -physical one- blinks. same for the other buttons. when i press the return key, the start button blinks. and while i am having this problem, my computer has trouble loading. sometimes it freezes and i have to unplug it and remove the battery to reboot.
my keyboard works fine for the BIOS but as soon as windows starts it stops. It's not recognized in the device manager but will occasionally show (still doesn't work). And I know it's not a USB problem because I've switched ports and all other USB devices work, including the mouse.
I have a Compaq f500 that was running Vista home premium. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 ultimate. It went thru the install with no problems. When it got to the screen when you put in your name I discovered that the keyboard doesnt work. I tried plugging in an external keyboard and it doesn't work either. Also cant select safemode or anything that requires use of the keyboard to enter.
so every time i turn on my computer there's a black screen and all these words pop up and one that caught my eye was the one that said keyboard error or keyboard not detected. Which was really strange I thought it was the batteries so i changed them twice and i kept turning it off and on i'm using a logitech mk710 keyboard and i tried everything nothing's working my computer doesn't turn on only that black screen shows..
The battery died when I was typing. When I got it plugged in and it came back up my keyboard would not work. Are there hot keys or short cut keys that could have been pressed as the power went out that could cause this problem?
seems each time I turn the computer on my keyboard repeat delay and repeat rate has reverted to something slow, i just need to open the control panel and close it again and they work as expected (the sliders are at the max position where I left them, even though it doesn't work)
I have a Samsung NP-R467 laptop (Windows 7 32bit).
when I press the "S" key it outputs "s"
when I press the "Esc" key it outputs (Esc + F1)
I have tried a USB keyboard, after plugging it in, drivers were installed, computer restarted, and the USB keyboard worked without any problems.I tried the laptop keyboard in BIOS and it seemed to still have the problem.I tried the on-screen key board, no problems the key board is not dirty
I went to Device Manager > Keyboards >Standard PS/2 KeyboardI uninstalled drivers, restarted, let windows do it's driver thing, restarted again and still had the same problem. Samsung's website doesn't have any keyboard drivers that I could find
I'm running Windows 7, the keyboard works fine as long as I'm using it but when I leave the PC for hours and try to work after that, the keyboard doesn't work and I have to use the on-screen keyboard to login and continue working on the on-screen keyboard only. The only way for the keyboard to work again is if I restart the PC.
Is there an option that I have to check or something? Anyone knows how to resolve this problem ..
When I leave my computer on for a bit and walk away, the screen will turn off by itself (this is not standby!!!) and sometimes, the keyboard or mouse seems to have lost its connection to the computer, and will not respond to anything, I have to hit the reset button.
I encounter a problem recently. My keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+[left/right] arrow key doesn't work in any of my editors like: Microsoft word 2007; Microsoft wordpad; Open office writer and Abiword - I use this key combination for move between words in my word processors. Because of this problem is general in all of my editors I think this is not a software specific issue and belongs to my Win 7.
as described I use a Logitech G510 keyboard with multimedia keys and the posibility to insert a headset into it (the keyboard got its own soundcard). The keyboard also got a volume wheel which worked with Vista like it should: I could controle the speaker's volume by the keyboard.
Now with Win 7 I can't use the wheel anymore, even with the latest drivers.
My system: OS Win 7 professional 32 bit Intel core duo E4500 2,2 GHz; 2GB RAM Sapphire HD5770 graphiccard
I recently upgraded from Vista to Win 7 and while my system is running great, I am getting an error that I am missing the driver for PCI bus 2, device 9, function 3
I'm curious of trying this. I have an older Mac I don't really use. Is it possible to take out the graphics card and use it on a windows computer? And install the windows drivers for the gt 120?I already have a 680, but Id like to throw on another monitor
