View 1 RepliesI have installed Itunes version 10.3.1.55 on my computer(windows7 x86), and since that Itunes refuses to sync to my Iphone. On the previous versions of Itunes everything was just fine. I went to the Service pannel and when trying to start the AMDS and I keep gettng this error "Windows could not start the apple device service on local computer : Error1067"...I've googled the matter and seems like no one on the blogs I visited got this figured out...Apple support is even worse, they keep telling you to install and the uninstall itunes, delete temp filesetc and try the whole thing back again..

My last laptop, which has gone kaput, was a Samsung netpad running Windows 7 Starter and this connected to the printer no problem.
I have just bought an Apple MacBook Air and want to connect it to the printer but cannot get the network to recognise it. It is fully functional on the wi-fi network but just wont find or connect to either the main computer or the printer.
I have just gotten MacBook Air and got it connected to my home network. Now, how can I get access to it from Windows 7 or vice versa?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI notice that one of my backup programs has selected all the folders in my User folder to be backed up. Among those selected is the hidden folder AppData, containing 8800 files. Since there are files in there that seem to change daily, it slows down the daily backup. I am wondering if there is really anything in there that I need to back up. I've read that some older versions of Outlook and sometimes Windows Live Mail put data in there, but in the past I've restored computers and I've never copied anything from AppData. It does not seem to be the stored emails, perhaps it is confuguration data? So my question is, can I remove AppData from my backup job and what might I be losing?

View 4 Replies View Related1st- the Apple keyboard (model # MB110LL/A) isn't listed as compatible with Windows 7. But I like it very much & had an extra one & decided to make use if it on my Windows 7 PC. The only issue I have using it on my PC is that the powered USB hub on the keyboard only works with the mouse. If I plug in a flash card I get a Power has been exceeded error. I have plenty of other hubs to use but I'm just curious why this hub works perfect on my iMac but not on Windows 7 (64-bit). I've installed all Bootcamp drivers but it still errors. So, here's how Apple's version of Device Manager looks; refer to as Keyboard Hub.My guess is somehow Apple allocates additional power when needed to it's USB hubs whereas Windows does not (Windows has a max of 500mA). There are several references to Extra Operating Current (see photo) to perhaps support that. Anyways, the only question I have is there a way to fix this? Perhaps a motherboard setting (Gigabyte) or a different driver.
View 1 Replies View Relatedusing an Apple Airport Express device on my existing wireless network? I've combed the web, tried several things and zero luck.
One thing I did learn is that the apple device seems to want WEP2 type security, but that totally knocks out my wireless connection from my pc to the network. I changed it to WEP and got my computer connected again but either way I could not use, access or "see" the apple device.
I will ask for Leopard first since this is what most people are using.
I tried to set up the networking with the Apple machines last night to no avail, rather, this morning. Has anyone had success doing so? According to everything I have read, it should be fairly straight forward, yet it is not connecting.
Any ideas?
I used to use a MBP as my main computer, coupled with a 30" Apple Cinema Display (Model A1083 - purchased three years ago). I recently purchased a PC (i7-950 3.06 GHz; AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB; Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) to use as my home computer, and the MBP for mobile purposes. However, I cannot get the new PC to recognize the native resolution of the Apple Cinema Display (2560x1600). The monitor shows a maximum display resolution of 1200x800. I am using the only connection the monitor has to hook into the PC -- DVI-D Dual Link.In the screen options, under Control Panel, it shows the monitor as "CINEMA" but the drivers reflect "Generic PnP monitor".
From what I can discern, people used to use WinACD (WinACD | Download WinACD software for free at SourceForge.net) as a fix for this common issue, but the file has been discontinued and the last version was made for WindowsXP.
I have a custon ASUS m48A89GTD MOBO runnin windows 7, and a apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse with a cheap generic USB bluetooth dongle, which runs on a "broadcom 2.0 + USB dongle driver" .The keyboard and mouse pair with no problem, i can restart the pc and re-pair the devices perfectly. However, if i manually remove the dongle and reconnect it, all pairing info is lost and have to re-pair,
While the pc is shut down, the dongle remains lit with a "standby" power supply, If i remove the dongle and reconnect it, even if the pc is off, the problem repeats itself.same goes if i disconnect the pc from the wall outlet.Apparently the dongle has to remain "powered" for it to remember all the pairing and devices info.this is quite annoying, because i have to whip out my wired keyboard to re-pair every time this happens.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L305 Series laptop with 2 GB of RAM, Intel Celeron, and 182 GB hard drive space. I really want to get the Apple Magic Mouse. Will that work on a Windows 7 PC? My computer doesn't have Bluetooth, but I am planning on getting a Bluetooth adapter for laptop as well. Will that work? Also, does the magic mouse come with a Bluetooth adapter, or do I have to buy an adapter separately?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRight now I have an old 500 GB that I use for my backups. When I want to make a backup I open my case, start the computer, attach the drive to a SATA cable, make an image with Macrium Reflect Free, shut down the computer, remove the drive, close the case and restart the system. I also take the drive to my daughter's place from time to time to make an image of her system to my 500 GB drive using the same method. This is not a lot of work but it is not very convenient.I would like to get basic understanding of how a NAS drive works. The WD Live seems to be popular. Is that a good choice? If I understand correctly, I would attach such a drive to my router and then I could access it from my computer or my daughter's computer. Am I correct?Could I still use Macrium Reflect to make an image to that drive? Is the software that comes with the drive reliable regarding security. Obviously I want my data to be only accessible from my daughter's computer or mine.
