Every evening after hibernation, the computer comes out of hibernation unexpectedly, lights up the screen unasked for!Note: I have adjusted the power settings in control panel to do this w/o a password wake-up. Even the screen doesn't dim with no use! This is a new phenomenon, it was working properly about a month ago. I did at one time in the last month reset everything to defaults, but that was in response to the beginning of this problem !
I have windows 7 Home Premium and I am facing some problems with Hibernate and Standby. The first Problem is that my system doesn't hibernate but instead it just perform a log off. The second problem is that when I put the system in standby, it wakes up automatically after 2 to 3 hours which makes a serious problem if my laptop is in the bag.
I've looked through the Advanced Power Settings options and not found something that appeared to be an issue to me. It still auto wakes up with Allow wake timers set to Disable and When sharing media under Multimedia Settings set to Allow the computer to sleep.I also ran powercfg -lastwake in cmdafter an automatic wake up and these were the results:
I'm positive that I'm not bumping into the mouse or anything to accidentally wake it as I make sure to turn my wireless mouse off once I've finished a session on the computer. and often times the computer will wake in the middle of the night. I will select sleep mode before going to bed and when I wake up it will be running like normal
Whenever my system is woken from I assume its sleep mode ( My power options are Sleep mode after 30mins and 'Turn off Display' after 10mins". I commonly find some programs will not work,they start to load up and then hang.A windows 7 prompt comes up and I then click 'Show problem details' to reveal the following below in the case of my attempted starting of Paint Shop Pro. This particular time around, Excel and Word opened all the way and also alowed data entry but as soon as you click on the round symbol in the top left corner to save etc it also did nothing but say 'program not responding in the very top bar.Description:A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.[CODE]OS and most applications all installed on a 120gb OCZ Vertex 2 SSD with a 1Tb Samsung F3 Spinpoint drive holding all my pic,movie,sound files, word docs, excel docs etc. I try to save zero application files on the SSD but all on the HD.

After almost a year of "no problems" operation my PC has suddenly developed a strange will of its own on shut-down.I always put my PC into hibernate mode rather than switching it off. I use the START/Shut Down/Hibernate series of steps. Suddenly recently, my PC still goes into hibernate, as previously, but after approx 2-3 seconds the PC suddenly restarts! The only way to end PC use is now to shut it down completely which is a pain as it takes far longer to restart next time I use the machine.
I have Windows 7 and XP installed on different partitions on the same computer. When I put Windows 7 in hibernation and switch the computer back on, I don't get the dual boot menu which gives me the option to choose between 7 or XP. Instead, Windows 7 starts loading. Is it possible to start XP while 7 is in hibernation, and if so, how can I do this?
I am currently experiencing a BSOD after I put my computer into hibernate/sleep mode. Model: U46E-BAL6 ASUS, After I restart my computer, the windows crash report says the problem lies in my 080712-18283-01.dmp 080712-18283-01.dmp and a 2nd BSOD happened a little after, and the problem file is 080712-16395-01.dmp 080712-16395-01.dmp I have attached both files below, could someone take a look and solve the problem?
Some weeks ago I made a reinstall of my Win7 Home Premium x64 (a Dell M1330 with 4gb RAM). After then, my machine starts having random BSOD errors when going or recovering from sleep or hibernate mode. The error is a DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, with code 0x0000009f.I attach here the info grabbed with W7F Diagnostic Tool, CPU z pictures and RAMmon html report. I have recently moved to Windows 7 (upon getting a new motherboard installed) and 2 weeks later. I cannot start up as I get a 'Restart from Hibernate' message on screen but nothing further happens. I have tried a 'hard restart' from power off several times, allowing plenty of time for capacitor discharge etc but get the same message. More worrying is that I cannot find any way to get the pc to start in safe mode or use restore as Windows 7 seems almost to be bypassing the bios. Holding down delete on startup shows the first line of the bios screen then moves immediately to the hibernate message. It seems to move into that screen before the keyboard or mouse are activated. How I can get out of hibernate?

How a machine Windows 7 or XP once goes to sleep/hibernate mode, can be identified on the network to do a Wake-On-LAN. Because the machine is shutdown, the ping does not give a response. In a DHCP environment, when the machine goes to sleep mode, the ip is released so not necessarily the machine can be identified with its IP.
I am having this blue screen error often occurs during resume from hibernate or sleep. Have been reading bleeping computers.com and figured out where to find the error report, and pasted it below. NO hardware or software changes done, everything seems to be updated from the update advisory. Please help me find a solution, it's getting annoying to have a computer these days and slightest problem.
I wanted to go into safe mode on windows 7 but it kept stopping at classpnp.sys. After reading a few threads I read about using Msconfig and checking the safe mode option under "Boot". It still keeps staying at classpnp.sys and when I hit F8 and hit "Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)" it seems to be able to get trough and it says it's actually loading up safe mode but then it changes to a black screen and does not change from that screen.
I recently set up a new computer, and managed to get a copy of Win 7 Ultimate. However, I get an ambiguous error when I attempt to set up the Windows XP Mode. I'm able to boot a virtual machine, and my CPU's VM options are turned on.
This problem started a few months ago when I updated the video drivers on my NVIDIA card. What happens is that when the pc goes to sleep, either by my command or after timing out for inactivity, the pc will wake up when prompted by mouse or keyboard, but the monitors don't. I know the pc wakes because when tapping on keys or clicking the mouse button I will occasionally hear pings from the pc. I'm not convinced that the problem is NVIDIA's, but this does coincide with an updated driver of theirs.Ultimately, in order to get my machine working again I have to press the power button and restart cold. Also, and I'm not sure if this is worth noting, upon cold start, my Kaspersky and clock gadgets, which are normally placed in the upper-right corner of the right monitor, display in the left monitor somewhere off-center.

how can i find out why my Windows 7 wakes up from standby every morning after 6 o'clock? i was thinking the event viewer might help here - but i do not really know what to look for.
Every night I put my laptop to sleep but lately the laptop wakes up on it's own in the middle of the night every night. Anyone knows what might cause this phenomena ?
When ever i turn my PC to sleep over night it wakes from sleep at 3:45AM and stays on i did the 'powercfg - lastwake' and this is what i got[SERVICE] Device/Harddiskvolume1/Windows/System32/svchost.exe (wuauserv)I ran task scheduler and no programs start at that time.
My computer wakes from hibernation.I�m using windows 7 x64. My BIOS doesn�t support any configuration settings about wake, and the LAN device driver states that it doesn�t support wake on LAN.It�s a Dell Lattitude laptop, about 2 years old.No events are relevant.This started about 6 months ago when I went out and updated all my drivers, so some driver is apparently having fun. I had already run for long enough when it started that I didn�t want to roll back, although I have tried earlier versions of the LAN, WAN and WLAN drivers. None of them have an option for disabling wake on LAN that can be checked.

My laptop wakes up for no reason after I put it to sleep. I unplugged my USB things and it still doesn't solve. When I do powercfg -lastwake it gives me this:

This does not have to do with an outdated driver(Most likely) It happened when I decided to decrease the brightness.
Every few days my computer will wake from sleep in the middle of the night and to find out why I check lastwake from the command prompt and got this in attachment. I looked in WMC and didn't find any auto updating turned on. How do I turn this off? I really don't use WMC that much and don't need it waking my computer to update.
