I installed a new card an now my Internet won't connect it's wired connection it detects it but its not connecting the grapics card install was successful great performance boost I installed a nivda GeForce 210 I'm running windows 7 64-bit I'm thinking the driver isn't compatible with my computers adapter should I try and find a update for it online if so where? Or should I buy a Ethernet card and install a driver from that?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've a wired (ADSL) broadband connection, which is connected to my main comp(runs on W7, W8) via an Ethernet. I've second computer(runs on xp) and is connected to my main computer via another Ethernet.The internet sharing ran fine for couple years till on a normal day it stopped just like that. I tried everything to make the sharing whole again but now it's been 6 months and I've pretty much given up. Second comp was formatted with fresh OS many times. On my main comp tried through W7 and W8 differently with different settings. I then followed dozens of tutorial which appeared on google's search. Still no success. I even tried setting up VPN between these two computers. On second comp, in control panel it says connected to broadband from main computer but in reality no internet app(browser, torrent client etc) find the internet. Other stuff such as file, printer sharing, lan based apps like multiplayer games are working fine.

Finally moving all the main workstations over to Windows 7. In a test run yesterday - I noticed that Windows 7 jumps ahead of me in a big way right after the main desktop appears.
In the Vista/XP days - I would actually get to install my drivers in my preferred installation order. In this install - especially for graphics - before I even got to install my preferred nVidia drivers - I see that Win 7 has already grabbed and installed 195.65 - presumably from Windows Update - which I do not want.
What's the trick (if any) at "first" desktop to get Windows 7 to hold it's horses and let me install what I want?

So I only have 1 cat6 line into my computer area. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a confusing time trying to figure out why my internet went from 10+ Mbps down to <1 Mbps after simply downloading a wireless card driver.From the beginning:My wireless download speed was 10+Mbps, and I was using the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card. This information is found in the Device Manager, under "Network".The driver for the card was 5.30.x.y (I can't remember the specific version number, but I do remember it was 5.30.something.something). Upon navigating to the Dell webpage, I wanted to see if there were any drivers for the same wireless card that were more updated, to perhaps increase performanceI navigated to the page for my computer (Dell Latitude D830), here. That page is for my model laptop. You'll notice that, in the drop down for "Operating System", there is no option to select Windows 7.
Regardless, I navigated to the driver under "Network", the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card, and downloaded it. It was version 5.60.188.1, from 11/9/2009. This is where my problem began. After installing the driver and rebooting, my internet speed instantly went to below 1 Mbps. I have no clue why installing a later wireless card driver would mess up my speed.My only hypothesis is that the driver I downloaded is only compatible with Vista. Do I just re-download driver version 5.30.x.y or something to get it back? Why did it get so slow?
I have a problem with my wireless internet card (Qualcomm Atheros Ar9485). It has trouble connecting to websites. Speed and ping is fine, but it is the connecting that often fails. I have done tests on my other computer and on my iPad, and everything works fine. I know that there is something wrong with the wifi card, because when I plug in my ethernet cable, everything works fine. My wifi drivers are up to date. I can still browse the web wirelessly, but 30-60% of the time, the connecting fails. I have had this kind of issue before (All browser slow/not loading pages) and I got the problem solved by switching wifi channels.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.

I have looked around the net a bit to see if this was possible, and I have received mixed feelings after my findings.
I recently purchased a new Toshiba Satellite that came with Windows Vista, and a free upgrade to Windows 7 on release.
I am wondering if I am able to put a 32GB SDHC card into the read slot and have it be considered my main hard drive that Windows is on, and use the internal drive (which I swapped out for a Scorpio Black) as storage.
Why, or why not?

I already have a Linux Mint install that fulfills all my needs. I'd want a Windows system too just for gaming, if I manage to do my way. Id est on a Secure Digital I bought for that exact reason. Why? I don't want Windows to occupy space on my HDD, which is barely big enough for my needs, and I don't want to carry around an external drive either. An SD is perfect for has all the space it needs on its own, is small and confortable to bring where I want and when it's plugged in completely disappears in my computer.
