View 2 RepliesI've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.
System:
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/GEN 3
Intel 2600K
XFX R7950 Black Edition
OCZ 850W
Crucial 128 GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD
Corsair H100
Windows 7 64 bit (full)
I have looked around the net a bit to see if this was possible, and I have received mixed feelings after my findings.
I recently purchased a new Toshiba Satellite that came with Windows Vista, and a free upgrade to Windows 7 on release.
I am wondering if I am able to put a 32GB SDHC card into the read slot and have it be considered my main hard drive that Windows is on, and use the internal drive (which I swapped out for a Scorpio Black) as storage.
Why, or why not?
It is possible install window 7 from sd card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe action is already pretty explained in the title. Now I'm gonna tell you the reason. Windows isn't my principal operating system. I already have a Linux Mint install that fulfills all my needs. I'd want a Windows system too just for gaming, if I manage to do my way. Id est on a Secure Digital I bought for that exact reason. Why? I don't want Windows to occupy space on my HDD, which is barely big enough for my needs, and I don't want to carry around an external drive either. An SD is perfect for has all the space it needs on its own, is small and confortable to bring where I want and when it's plugged in completely disappears in my computer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a think center serial is 8171-CTO; I ran the Windows 7 upgrade advisor but after about 20 tries it told me over and over again I had no Internet connection!1! Which I do as I had freshly downloaded the tool.
Anyway, I decided to go for it anyway (doh) and although the OS etc installed fine, I am left with no sound. I have searched Google and read forum after forum to get it working but nothing I try works.
For example I have asked Windows to "fix the problem" ... "unable to fix the problem"
Tried going to Soundmax's website - their support pages are "under construction".
Anyone able to help me please with links to drivers or stuff to try?
I am a total Windows 7 newbie, never used Win Vista only XP (I mainly use Linux at home) please guide me through as such!

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Dell Mobile Broadband Card software installs and works fine in Windows 7 v.6801 64-bit but will not install in 6956 (32-bit). It gets most of the way through and then rolls back to nothing. The Compatibility Troubleshooter didn't help no matter what combination I tried. Besides 6801, I have successfully used the same software in XP Pro x86, XP Pro x64, Vista 32-bit and Vista 64-bit.
I read somewhere that IE8 might be the culprit so I vLited the 6956 without IE8 but it still will not install.
Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got an iiyama vision master pro 454 monitor and today i changed graphics card today from a radeon 4850 to a radeon 5770 but after doing it my monitor drivers seem to have reset to generic pnp monitor instead of iiyama ones. I've tried downloading the iiyama drivers but even when i point it at the drivers it tells me my driver is up to date and doesnt change. Strange since windows automatically found the right drivers for me when i installed it.
Any ideas how i might get it to work?

View 7 Replies View RelatedSo My new Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit PC doesnt seem to want to sleep. I'm away to work for a day at a time and when I get home the PC is up and running.I found this article:Windows 7 will not sleep or not sleepingwhich indicates to update driver, particularly the video card driver. I go to the vendor site and download the newest driver. I go to Device Manager open Display Adapters and find my card, double click on that and I'm in the properties. The driver date is 9/2010 so there is definitely a newer driver. Click on update driver/search on computer and navigate to the folder where I downloaded the new driver. I click next and get "Windows has determined that the current driver software for the device is up to date" and thats it, no apparent way around.
View 2 Replies View RelatedUp until now I've never used the SD Card reader in my laptop, but now I want to use it however it's not showing up under My Computer. I have downloaded the 'MS Hotfix MemoryCard' listed under Software (which only appears for WinXP) here: Support for NP-R519
But when I try to install (Running as Administrator), the command prompt flashes for a second then nothing happens. I've tried restarting anyway in case it had installed but my SD card is still not recognised. I've also tried running in compatibility mode with WinXP SP2 and Vista SP2 - no luck.
This card reader apparently is SDHC compatible, but my card is only 2GB anyway so its 100% compatible. I've done a google search and it seems a lot of people have problems with this one particular device/driver.
Also I've looked under Device Manager but I'm not sure where it would be listed, though I'm confident its actually not listed at all.
So what should I try next? I'd rather get it working than have to buy an adapter.
I have an older HP Pavilion zt3349cl that just keeps going. I installed Windows 7 on it and now when I put a sd card in the reader(built in) it wants to try and format the card-the card has pics on it. Card will work fine in another computer.
