I have an older HP Pavilion zt3349cl that just keeps going. I installed Windows 7 on it and now when I put a sd card in the reader(built in) it wants to try and format the card-the card has pics on it. Card will work fine in another computer.

My fingerprint reader randomly stopped working a few days ago. I first noticed it when trying to log on to my computer because the reader doesn't respond at all and now it doesn't even give me the fingerprint reader option when it comes to the welcome screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a "SanDisk Ultra CompactFlash" 4GB card and an internal card reader (HP desktop). When I insert the card into the reader, the green light above the slot turns on as if it recognizes the device, but it doesn't show up. Device Manager says that the driver is installed and working properly, and I have uninstalled it,reinstalled it, and restarted my computer. A system restore isn't really an option because it isn't my computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've looked around some, but most other people's problems seemed to be that they could at least see a grayed out version of the card or locate it in the Device Manager, but absolutely nothing shows up for me. It worked fine a couple of days ago (when I was still on Vista), but after upgrading to 7, it no longer detects the SD card at all. Other topics had lots of random driver downloads, but the ones I tried did not seem to work.

For some unknown reason, my multi card reader is not being recognised when I start up my computer. I suspect it has turned off the Auto Start. Can anyone help me please. I suspect that if I could make contact with the reader and turn it on manually all would be well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI decided to replace my old internal card reader with the Akasa 3.5" internal 6-slot multicard reader with Superspeed USB 3.0 [AK-ICR-07U3] What I thought was going to be a 5 minute job became a bit of a headache. I've installed it and powered up the pc, it seemed to be working but then I got the message that the device could not be installed and no drivers were found. So off I go to Akasa website, I located the model and under support I found a "installation software" (even though the manual makes no mention of it and it's supposed to be "plug & Play"). I installed the driver and again it seemed to work, I was able to use my camera's memory card but when I tried to use another memory card it just froze, the reader gets stuck with the "reading light" all the time on even when I take the card out ... if I switch off the pc the card reader will still be stuck with both power and reading lights on, the only way for it to go off again is if I switch the power supply off. When I power the pc on it all looks fine until I try to actually use the card reader ... the usb port seems to be working fine though.My system is this:- Intel Core i7-2600 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until now I've never used the SD Card reader in my laptop, but now I want to use it however it's not showing up under My Computer. I have downloaded the 'MS Hotfix MemoryCard' listed under Software (which only appears for WinXP) here: Support for NP-R519
But when I try to install (Running as Administrator), the command prompt flashes for a second then nothing happens. I've tried restarting anyway in case it had installed but my SD card is still not recognised. I've also tried running in compatibility mode with WinXP SP2 and Vista SP2 - no luck.
This card reader apparently is SDHC compatible, but my card is only 2GB anyway so its 100% compatible. I've done a google search and it seems a lot of people have problems with this one particular device/driver.
Also I've looked under Device Manager but I'm not sure where it would be listed, though I'm confident its actually not listed at all.
So what should I try next? I'd rather get it working than have to buy an adapter.

I've got the driver file in an 'EXE' file -- can't be bothered to extract driver for 7100 SCAN and load driver.
Just "Uninstall" from your 7077 installation (don't click delete software box').
Now run setup.exe again. (Use Device Manager to "uninstall the driver"
No probs.
I just upgraded my Windows XP Toshiba Satellite laptop to Windows 7 and now the sound card, and the wifi feature (where it looks for signals) does not work! Is there a way to fix this, or maybe even revert back to XP. I didn't make a back-up disc.. but if there is a way to do so, I'd like to.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy system installed he Windows 7 SP1 a week or so ago - immediately had a problem: my ATI 9600 graphics card stopped working with the upgraded driver giving the error message: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39). The legacy drivers from AMD/AT also did not work - so I am currently stuck with MS standard VGA driver and oval shaped circles at a resolution well below thy native resolution of my monitor. Feedback from MS is that the card is not supported (legacy), however, their Windows 7 hardware compatibility webpage shows the card to be compatible.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Nvidia 560 stopped working so while I was waiting for the replacement I was using my onboard Intel HD graphics. After I installed the new card, my monitor would not display anything unless it was connected to the onboard graphics. No big deal I thought. I booted into safe mode, removed all display drivers ( Nvidia and intel) and ran driver sweeper to remove the remnants. The computer booted with the monitor plugged into the 560 just fine in the crappy resolution. I installed the latest Nvidia drivers downloaded from the website.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy computer is unable access my router. The power went out for a second and clearly that did something. I have an HP p7-1174 desk top, running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. The processor is an AMD A8-3800.
There are now several devices in the manager with yellow exclamation points, all relegated to the LAN. I get a Code 31, unable to load drivers message. I ran the sfc scan and there were no integrity violations. I tried updating drivers without any luck. My router is working fine because my laptop and iPad both work online.
The problem seems to be that Windows can't load the drivers for my 802.11n wireless LAN card. I tried updating drivers but it said the driver was up to date. I tried changing manually but the only two listed were the same and when I clicked one, it said Windows was unable to load.
I recently built a computer (specs below) and have had few problems until recently. About once a day, the system will go to the Blue screen and restart. Upon restart, it says that the Video Card stopped working properly. Obviously I'd think it's that but don't know where to start.

Basically my problem is I cant install anything. I have tried to install several different software in the .iso format and none of which are installing. On every installation I get a message saying 'Setup has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution' then it tells me 'Setup has stopped working' and gives me an option to close program.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter working flawlessly for a couple of years my hibernation now doesn't work: when I choose it, the screen goes blank and there is some hard drive activity but then it stops and just returns me to the screen I was on. Sleep still works perfectly.Two things happened before this: I installed a backup program called ShadowProtect (since uninstalled) and I had a couple of PC freezes due to a bad piece of software, which meant I had to a hard reboot.I ran Chkdsk at bootup to make sure the drive was all OK, which it was. I've also disabled and then re-enabled hibernation. I've looked at Event Viewer but I can't find any actual errors, and am not familiar with the program.

View 2 Replies View RelatedOn my PC there is a card reader connected. It shows up as 4 different drives when I look at "My Computer" and elsewhere. One of the slots in the reader is for sim cards. When a sim card is inserted a Windows sound is heard and the "Installing Device Driver" window shows up and then another window stating the installation was not successful. Any further action from within windows does not solve the problem. I tried an external card reader and the same negative results. this was tried with 3 different sim cards.

They work just great on my XP office machine, and on my home machine if I dig out my XP boot drive and boot XP. But Win7 can't use flash in this device. Disk Management shows the correct size but can't show Properties; no drive letter is assigned, and I can't see the drives. They all work just find under XP.
I hesitate to go buy another brand of reader; USB is supposed to be plug-and-play.
