View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until now I've never used the SD Card reader in my laptop, but now I want to use it however it's not showing up under My Computer. I have downloaded the 'MS Hotfix MemoryCard' listed under Software (which only appears for WinXP) here: Support for NP-R519
But when I try to install (Running as Administrator), the command prompt flashes for a second then nothing happens. I've tried restarting anyway in case it had installed but my SD card is still not recognised. I've also tried running in compatibility mode with WinXP SP2 and Vista SP2 - no luck.
This card reader apparently is SDHC compatible, but my card is only 2GB anyway so its 100% compatible. I've done a google search and it seems a lot of people have problems with this one particular device/driver.
Also I've looked under Device Manager but I'm not sure where it would be listed, though I'm confident its actually not listed at all.
So what should I try next? I'd rather get it working than have to buy an adapter.
on 7077==>7100 Upgrade system refused on a Laptop -- said MMC O2 XD /SD driver incompatable and showed a red 'X'. Built in MMC card reader.
I've got the driver file in an 'EXE' file -- can't be bothered to extract driver for 7100 SCAN and load driver.
Just "Uninstall" from your 7077 installation (don't click delete software box').
Now run setup.exe again. (Use Device Manager to "uninstall the driver"
No probs.
howdo to use the card reader work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Memory card reader and on the windows explorer it shows all the card slots as drives.
Is it possible for it to only show the slot that has media in (dare I say, like a mac)?
The same with my optical drives, is it possible to 'hide' them only showing when they have mounted a an item of optical media?
Or is this just pipe dreams, and only the preserve of unix based systems?
"One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it. I have 4 USB ports in the back which are connected to my printer, mouse, keyboard and external hard drive which are all functioning fine.
I have two USB ports on the front which are unoccupied. I have an internal memory card reader in this desktop, and that's the only thing I think it can be.
To resolve the problem it is asking me to reconnect the device or replace it. I have disconnected and reconnected th memory card reader while the pc was on, the pc recognizes a device has been disconnected and reconnected, but not what it is.
Under device manager, it says, "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" I have therefore disabled it for now, but would like to get it working. Do you think this problem wil be fixed automatically in an update sometime.
When I go to driver details, it says "No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device" And when I click on update driver, it says I have the latest driver.
I have a Dell XPS M1710 laptop. I recently installed windows 7 home premium 64bit. I can't seem to get my built in Ricoh 5 in 1 memory card reader to work. I installed the recommended driver using the dell drivers on their website. None of the drives are appearing under my computer, and nothing happens when I insert a memory card. I have tried several 1 and 2gb cards. Both high speed and regular with no success. I went to folder options and unchecked the box to hide empty drives in my computer. I am unable to locate anything under device manager for the Ricoh card reader.A - I want it to display the empty drives in my computer
B - I want it to read my darn memory cards
My USB ports and memory card reader have all of a sudden stopped working correctly . the mem card slots i cant tell if they are working at all but the usb ports are still sending power as iv still be able to charge my mp3 player but it just will not send any data .. this is made even more frustrating as i was using them both less that 10 hours ago iv not installed any new software and i have not changed any hardware so tbh im completely at a loss as to why they arnt working .iv done only the basic things to attempt to get them working again.. i un-installed them from device manager and let windows re-install them to no avail . View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a "SanDisk Ultra CompactFlash" 4GB card and an internal card reader (HP desktop). When I insert the card into the reader, the green light above the slot turns on as if it recognizes the device, but it doesn't show up. Device Manager says that the driver is installed and working properly, and I have uninstalled it,reinstalled it, and restarted my computer. A system restore isn't really an option because it isn't my computer.
