AT&T 3G Card Software Won't Install In 6956
Dec 15, 2008
The Dell Mobile Broadband Card software installs and works fine in Windows 7 v.6801 64-bit but will not install in 6956 (32-bit). It gets most of the way through and then rolls back to nothing. The Compatibility Troubleshooter didn't help no matter what combination I tried. Besides 6801, I have successfully used the same software in XP Pro x86, XP Pro x64, Vista 32-bit and Vista 64-bit.
I read somewhere that IE8 might be the culprit so I vLited the 6956 without IE8 but it still will not install.
Any ideas?

I have been trying to find Windows 7 drivers for my 8800GT but haven't found anything yet. Are the Vista ones compatible or do I need Windows 7 specific? If so, do they exist?

I can't pin enything into the taskbar and there's no option to pin either. I worked for a few days, week maybe and then suddenly nothing was pinned when i started my computer. I allredy tried to reset the star menu pin and all that thing and I also enter: C:UsersUrosAppDataRoamingMicrosoftInternet ExplorerQuick LaunchUser Pinned where I found all the programs pined into taskbar but they weren't on the taskbar ( strange ) I deleted all restart the windows and there was a shourtcut of mozilla firefox but without icon. It was only a white document. I clicked on it and it pops up an windows that the file is missing and if i want to be removed i presed yes and nothing happened. then i oper task manager i closed the exlorer.exe i runed it again and there was the same icon there but when i pointed on it it said Windows media player I removed it on the same way lake the mozilla's one and I did the same for the rest. Now I still cannot pin anything into the taskbar. Is there any solution to fix that, I don't want to install it again because I wait for the public beta and then I will instal that one. I used vista for the primary OS but now it crased today and I dont want to mess with it so I'll use Windows 7 instead?

I just installed build 6956 in my Aspire One, and everything is working wonderfully. I even think it runs a little faster than the 6801 build.
But I was really looking forward to seeing the new animated boot screen (I'm a sucker for presentation in software), and was utterly dissapointed to see the same Vista-like loader. I was just reading about the animation being a video or something like that.
So, is it possible my netbook can't display the new boot screen because of the "handicapped" video performance, or do I have to enable it?

I've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.
System:
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/GEN 3
Intel 2600K
XFX R7950 Black Edition
OCZ 850W
Crucial 128 GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD
Corsair H100
Windows 7 64 bit (full)

I have looked around the net a bit to see if this was possible, and I have received mixed feelings after my findings.
I recently purchased a new Toshiba Satellite that came with Windows Vista, and a free upgrade to Windows 7 on release.
I am wondering if I am able to put a 32GB SDHC card into the read slot and have it be considered my main hard drive that Windows is on, and use the internal drive (which I swapped out for a Scorpio Black) as storage.
Why, or why not?

The action is already pretty explained in the title. Now I'm gonna tell you the reason. Windows isn't my principal operating system. I already have a Linux Mint install that fulfills all my needs. I'd want a Windows system too just for gaming, if I manage to do my way. Id est on a Secure Digital I bought for that exact reason. Why? I don't want Windows to occupy space on my HDD, which is barely big enough for my needs, and I don't want to carry around an external drive either. An SD is perfect for has all the space it needs on its own, is small and confortable to bring where I want and when it's plugged in completely disappears in my computer.

I have a think center serial is 8171-CTO; I ran the Windows 7 upgrade advisor but after about 20 tries it told me over and over again I had no Internet connection!1! Which I do as I had freshly downloaded the tool.
Anyway, I decided to go for it anyway (doh) and although the OS etc installed fine, I am left with no sound. I have searched Google and read forum after forum to get it working but nothing I try works.
For example I have asked Windows to "fix the problem" ... "unable to fix the problem"
Tried going to Soundmax's website - their support pages are "under construction".
Anyone able to help me please with links to drivers or stuff to try?
I am a total Windows 7 newbie, never used Win Vista only XP (I mainly use Linux at home) please guide me through as such!

I've got an iiyama vision master pro 454 monitor and today i changed graphics card today from a radeon 4850 to a radeon 5770 but after doing it my monitor drivers seem to have reset to generic pnp monitor instead of iiyama ones. I've tried downloading the iiyama drivers but even when i point it at the drivers it tells me my driver is up to date and doesnt change. Strange since windows automatically found the right drivers for me when i installed it.
Any ideas how i might get it to work?

I want to update to the newest version available for my graphics card, which is Version 280.26 but when I go through the setup it says "This graphics dirver could not find compatible graphics hardware". Well what the hell does that mean? I went to NVIDIA's website and downloaded this driver specifically for my 8600M gt card.
