I have an old pc with: Asus P4P8X (AGP 8x capable) Pentium 4 @2,53 GHz, 2GB RAM, Radeon 9600 Pro (256MB DDR AGP 8x) I had a Sapphire HD 3450 AGP (512MB DDR2) before this Radeon 9600 Pro, but i broke it. Now I'm looking for a decent grapics card for this pc. 1) is a card like an HIS HD 5450 PCI fast as a Sapphire HD 3450 AGP 8x? HIS HD 5450 has DDR3 memory and 650 MHz core clock, but PCI bus Sapphire HD 3450 has DDR2 memory and 600 MHz core clock, but AGP 8x bus, 2) is a PCI 3.0 card compatible with a PCI 2.1 slot?

Or should I buy a Ethernet card and install a driver from that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 just fine. The video card on that computer is old, a Radeon 8500. No drivers exist for Vista or Windows 7. Windows 7 used the default VGA drivers. I purchased a new video card, a GeForce 6600, which has Windows 7 driver support. I installed the new video card. The bios screen comes up and post, then it goes to the "starting windows screen", then the computer reboots back to the bios screen.
Any ideas what may be wrong?
W7 Home premium. To clean up my desktop, I would like to transfer some seldom used programs to an SD card or a USB flashdrive. When using XP I would simply go to search, get all the files and move them. How can I do this on my W7 computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an XFX motherboard (x58i), model # MD-X58I-CH09. It has three PCIe slots. I have an Nvidia GEForce GTX 260 graphics card in one of the PCIe slots (middle of the motherboard). This is running two 22" displays with no issues at all.
I also have a Asus ENGT430 video card with HDMI output that I want to load into one of the other PCIe slots. When I do this, the computer will not boot properly. It starts (displays the splash screen for windows7), but after that it appears as if there is some sort of conflict. Probably a driver conflict but I cannot even see anything or log in to the PC. Will the mother board support two different graphics cards? If so, what do I need to do to get it to work. I have not installed any drivers for the ASUS graphics card because the instructions have you do this after booting. With Windows7 I didn't think I would have to install anything.
I had this issue with my graphics card and could not find a solution, I went into the BIOS and changed the sound from Auto to Enable and that gave me my sound back.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed the OEM version of Windows 7, which came with all the basic drivers, but looking at the dxdiag box, my version of the graphics card I have is much older than the one on the ATI website.
I have the ATI Radeon HD 2400 - 1GB the version in dxdiag says 8.632
The latest is v9.9
But I cant seem to remove the old driver to update it, and I know this is incorrect, but should I just install the new one?
My system was working fine last week until I've installed an additional SATA HDD, windows will boot up until the windows 7 logo after that its all black screen, I've waited for hours for some response to happen but nothing happened, I've reformatted it a few times with the same outcome. I've tried resetting CMOS a lot of times but to no avail. But this evening I tried taking out my Graphics card and other peripherals and then windows boot! it boots with all other accesories(wifi card, firewire etc.) and the new HDD but when I try to reinstall the Graphics card it goes back to a black screen after the windows 7 logo!! is it a case of a busted video card? if so then why does it have display? I also checked the back of the Graphics card's heatsink and it has this white paste-like goo that has hardened, should i clean it and apply new thermal paste?

But It also has a phone line in & I believe a Ethernet plug in.After running Windows Update all of my issues, including no sound were resolved.I believe this card is a Dail UP modem & I would not use Dail Up if it was the only way left to get online...I would never surf the web again!I just need to know if I need this card for anything besides a dial up connection?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI think I got all my drivers figured out except for the sound card. I've tried the Lenovo site but it says Vista should use the Microsoft drivers and those don't seem to be working. In Device Manager I see "Multimedia Audio Controller" with the ! icon by it. "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). There is no driver selected for the device information set or element. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver." I search for updates and find nothing... I tried the XP version but that didn't work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I got a PC from a colleague once I started up the PC everything works fine, but since there was a lot of random programs on the pc, I decided to install my own version of Windows, Windows 7 Enterprise on it.When the whole installation was finished the computer started, everything worked fine. BUT the PC did not recognize the Nvidea Geforce 560ti video card. Since It worked fine before I re-installed windows, I am sure that there is nothing wrong with the cables, however I think it is a problem with the Bios configuration. (because that is what changes after a reboot right?)So, I try to change the Bios configuration to, booting both display PCU (i think) and PCI E, but this did not fix the problem.
My suggestions are; either to update the bios, but I'm not sure witch version I need.
Also, I could disable the onboard VGA standard 14mb videocard, but I did not try this because I'm afraid I will get a black screen, and I also read in different posts that the PC will automaticly re-install the standard VGA.I have been lingering around sevenforums for a while, I have always found my solutions here, but this time I'm in really big sh*t.To make things easier I will also post some information about my new PC.
1. Motherboard is from Foxconn, Its a FlamingBlade.
2. The CPU is Intel i7 ( i think.) dual core aswell.
3. Western Digital WD Blue250GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
4.550 Watt LC-Power Silent Giant-Green Power Edition Non-Modular 80+
5.Geforce GTX 560 ti oc 1gb ddr5 2xdvi mini-hmdi
6. Corsair DDR3 4GB PC 1333 CL9 KIT (2x2GB)
7. BENQ 2220 HD, 22
At the moment I'm at work thats why I dont have Exact information regarding the Motherboard and the CPU. I will provide this information once I can.how can i get my computer to recogize the video card?
I installed a Rosewell RC-217 Raid card (Silicon Image Sil 3124 SoftRaid 5 Controller-- in Device Manager). The card installed well in Windows 7 64 bit. No problems in device manager. The problem starts when i plug the drive in then rebooted. The boot stops at the 'Starting Window' and hangs. If i boot into windows then plug the drive in all work well. Windows sees the drive and i gave it a drive letter. works great.Problem is i can't boot my system without un-pluging the drive.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy comp keeps crashing on me. I've tried all of the trouble shooting i've found here from these forums and am still having problems. I've done about 30 fresh installs of windows in the past 6 months trying to get it to work properly. Doesn't matter if i'm running of my onboard video or my added vid cards. Doesn't matter if I run one or both RAM sticks. Doesn't matter if I run one or both vid cards. The pop up I get in the corner is what I've gone with for looking into trouble shooting. It refers to the graphics drivers crashing and then recovering. Doesn't matter if nothing is happening or not. Can sit fine for days, can turn it on and get 10 seconds out of it before it crashes. If i had any codes that it would give me I would help more on the situation. But when it crashes and doesn't recover I get no video; on either monitor. I'm getting very frustrated, this is the first time I've ever had this happen. This is the 4th computer I've built. First to involve any windows newer then XP. XP doesn't run my comp the way I would like it to. Some of the programs I use don't work with the 64-bit XP OS.
