View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a HP built box that I purchased less than a year ago. The hard drive died, along with the motherboard.I purchased a new hard drive and the full version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit and had the shop replace the MB, Install the new hard drive and O/S.The motherboard is an ASUS M4A785-M, with an on-board Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (according to Windows Device Manager).I have a couple of additional cards installed, one is an eSata controller for an external hard drive and the other is a SIIG DP FireWire 800 3-Port PCIe card.I initially installed the SIIG because the FireWire chip set is Texas Instruments, because I have a PreSonus Firestudio Mobile (sound card, recording hardware)and it only plays nicely with Texas Instruments. The SIIG card shows up in Device Manager under IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers as "Texas Instruments 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller", which I "assume" is correct?
My problem is the PreSonus hardware refuses show up in Device Manager or initialize (there is an indicator light on the front of the unit that will glow blue when it is connected or flash blue-red when it isn't). PreSonus has a driver set for the Firestudio Mobile, that is called Universal Control.I have attempted to install Universal Control several times, but each attempt has resulted in failure, with the Driver version showing 0.0.0 etc. I realize this is the problem, but I have no idea how to force the issue. If I could get the PreSonus drivers to install, I would be home free (I think).he PreSonus hardware should show up in Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers, but it doesn't.I have also posted about the issue on the PreSonus forum, but haven't had any solutions posted. This computer and the hardware are what I use to run my Recording Studio and without the Firestudio, I am effectively out of business.I should also note, that I haven't even installed any other software beyond windows 7, other than a couple of utilities. Not even my DAW or the drivers for my peripheral midi devices.
I have a new computer running Windows 7. It is functioning well, apart from the firewire card not being recognized. Pages on the web offering advice on this kind of problems start their solutions with going to the device manager and expanding the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" node in the device tree. Only I don't have such a node. How can I get the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" node to appear in the device manager?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy motherboard doesn't have firewire, and for the life of me i can't find a single expansion card that has an internal pinout that I can connect the cable for my front firewire port to. The closest I found was not low-profile compatible.and this is for the computer in my description, but on monday I'm switching out the case for a low profile hec 7K09 HTPC case.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded to windows 7 pro on a nice new 1TB hard drive. I have removed the previously installed win xp drive, and that is now in an external caddy. I have been in the process of moving the files from the xp drive to the Windows 7 drive. I forgot to backup my IE8 bookmarks before the switch over, and have tried to find the actual bookmark links via windows explorer but can't find them. I have tried looking in dos and setting users favourites...but the bookmarks are not in there.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi just built a brand new pc, and installed the D-Link DWA-510 network card.
I put in the D-Links DVD and click install drivers. It then comes up with an error saying i ineed to install the network card when it is installed just fine!
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and think the problem may be itisn't windows compatable.
so i have upgraded to Windows 7 and i am having bad problems with my Ethernet card. for some reason windows 7 does not find it and well i guess its not compatible, before i installed windows 7 i ran the advisor and it said that there is a chance it wont work so i think i need a new one. i just wanted to ask if this would work on my computer and if it would work with windows 7:
D-Link DFE-530TX+ 10/100 Fast Ethernet Desktop Adapter
it does not say anything about compatibility but the actual d link website says that it works with windows vista so im guessing it has windows vista drivers, does windows vista drivers work with windows 7. i need to know of this will work with my computer ASAP BTW i have a E machines t5420.
I have a D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G+ (DWL-G520+) network card but after installing the Windows7 Release Candidate, can't get any drivers to work for the card.
Does anyone know of any drivers or firmware that can sort this? Can't see anything on the D-link site and tried both the latest G520 and 520+ drivers (they don't show anything for G520+)
It is the 64bit version i have downloaded - ordered the Home version, but that's not released until October in the UK.
I am having a confusing time trying to figure out why my internet went from 10+ Mbps down to <1 Mbps after simply downloading a wireless card driver. From the beginning:My wireless download speed was 10+Mbps, and I was using the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card. This information is found in the Device Manager, under "Network".The driver for the card was 5.30.x.y (I can't remember the specific version number, but I do remember it was 5.30.something.something). Upon navigating to the Dell webpage, I wanted to see if there were any drivers for the same wireless card that were more updated, to perhaps increase performanceI navigated to the page for my computer (Dell Latitude D830), here. That page is for my model laptop. You'll notice that, in the drop down for "Operating System", there is no option to select Windows 7.
Regardless, I navigated to the driver under "Network", the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card, and downloaded it. It was version 5.60.188.1, from 11/9/2009. This is where my problem began. After installing the driver and rebooting, my internet speed instantly went to below 1 Mbps. I have no clue why installing a later wireless card driver would mess up my speed. My only hypothesis is that the driver I downloaded is only compatible with Vista. Do I just re-download driver version 5.30.x.y or something to get it back? Why did it get so slow?
I have an ASUS WL-330gE which can serve as a WAP, gateway, ethernet adapter and repeater. I use it as a repeater to gain greater coverage in my home. While my iPhone can link on to the repeater to access internet and home network (with some help resetting the phone's wifi), the two laptops that I have can link on to the repeater for home network, but not for internet. I can access files from other computers on the network, but not to websites. Once the repeater is off, I can access the web through my wireless router (if close enough). If I move closer to the wireless router with the repeater on, the repeater will not hand off the computer to the router which may have a stronger signal. I would have to disconnect and reconnect again before the router takes over.
