View 1 Replies View Relatedabout a year ago I had a problem with my pc where I would get the error message "display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" and the occasional BSOD. I solved this problem by simply flashing my bios. However a similar problem has now arrived ( note I have not changed any hardware since the last error) where:
- There is a constant buzzing from my monitor ( NOT a problem with the monitor as it works fine in safe mode with no buzzing, which is why I suspect a gpu problem)
- I get random "display driver has stopped responding and has successfully recovered" messages, but no BSODs. OR the display just goes black and I have to hard reset my pc.
I just recently changed / did format my OS from Vista to Windows 7. All drivers were working in Vista but When I had WIndows 7, My audio driver and Built in SD card/flash reader is not functioning. I was able to find the realtek driver for windows 7 for the audio problem and it worked fine. Now my SD/flash card reader is still not functioning.I tried to use automatic search using windows for the driver but I was not able to find it.I have Toshiba Satellite Pro M200 (core duo, 2G RAM, 32Bit)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently updated my windows vista to windows 7. But for some strange reason windows 7 wont recognise my graphic card. The graphic card I have is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT,, and I have tried to install the drivers from NVIDIA website but it wont let me install.. it says "NVIDIA Installer cannot continue" and at the bottom is says "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". When I go on Windows Experience Index.. everything seems to be fine except graphics and gaming graphics:
Processor: 5.1
Memory (RAM) : 5.1
Graphics: 1.0
Gaming Graphics: 1.0
Primary Hard disk: 4.8
i recently got a new hard drive in which the guy had to rewrite a partition on it. i updated all the drivers and for some reason i cannot install these two microsoft updates everytime i try it fails, and doesnt tell me why it fails, and when the hard drive and windows 7 was installed and it was working, all the memory on the local disk drive was taken up except for 200mb which is strange because it only had the OS installed and any windows essiantal programs.

Diode was shining as in sleep mode. I tried to use second DVI port (with DVI->D-Sub adapter) but no difference and PC wasn't running well(no BIOS beep and PC was stopped i think). I unplugged my Radeon card and connected monitor to integrated card and then it was working perfectly. But... I have DVI and D-Sub integrated, first one doesn't work with adapter, D-Sub works... Weird... I decided to plug again my Radeon and check again, but the same as before. I am confused, don't know now that card is broken or maybe this adapter?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung RC512 SO2 Netbook w/ Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.My Computer has two videos cards in it:
1) Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
2) NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M
Currently it is using the Intel card for my built-in display on the laptop. The max resolution is only 1366 x 728. I am looking for any way to jack up the resolution. Is there a way to switch the built-in monitor's video card to the GeForce, with hopes that it offers a higher resolution? The only thing I could find is a way to utilize the Nvidia card for another monitor if I plug it in, but not for the built-in display of the laptop.
Wasn't exactly sure where to put this question.I have a machine with a h67a-ud3h-b3 MOBO abd an currently using both video outputs. Nice board. Does anyone know if I can add an addtional video card to the board without having to disable the on-board video. Yes, I'd like a 3 or 4 monitor system. Everything I've found on the subject is very vague.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've tried Device Manager in Control Panel, but I'm only given a very generic name. (I just tried to open Device Manager again, but I can't for some reason... I'll edit this shortly.) I tried running dxdiag, and it claims it couldn't find a sound card.
I just installed Windows 7 Home Premium. I was previously using Windows Vista Ultimate.
I'm at home from school, and I didn't feel like bringing my speakers. So, sound would come from my sound card. I reformatted and installed Windows 7 with a headset plugged in, and I'm only able to hear sound through that.
I also hit system lag spikes when playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Sound, during these spikes, becomes a cackling noise. I think I need to update my drivers. If I take out the headset, sound becomes muted because it doesn't recognize my sound card or whatever.
I'm fairly certain I need the stickied Realtek HD drivers (I think I've seen the name before), but I want to confirm.
Ideas?
I've installed windows 7 and I need to install drivers for my graphics card but I don't know what kind I actually have. Where can I look for that info?

View 1 Replies View Relatedrecently I had a virus that was apparently unfixable so I reformatted the hard drive by using the factory image restore option. This however made the computer unuseable as it would not even turn on. I got Dell to send me the Windows Disk and the Drivers & Utilities Disk. I reinstalled windows and the computer worked fine again....although looked a little odd in the desktop/internet. I installed my game and tried playing it but it wouldn't let me play. It says I don't have the graphical requirements...which is odd because I played the game before the computer had to be reformatted. Even when I click on solitaire I get an error message that says: "Hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on."
When I go to device manager and look at display adapters, the only thing that comes up is Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. I've tried downloading every driver from Dell and from the disc they gave me (they are the same files) I unzipped them to the location it wanted but it made no difference. Finally I sat in chat with dell support, whom I hate by the way, and he did all the same stuff I did before saying I needed to try reinstalling windows 7, but this time delete all the partitions, then reinstall the drivers. I did that...twice afterwards and nothing made a difference.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. The original installation went just fine, but I never did test to see if transfer speeds were any faster. The instructions specifically mention to install the software first, then the hardware. Recently, I did a clean reinstall of Windows 7 Ultimate (x64). I never did remove the card. I tried running the software with the hardware already installed. Well, the drives are recognized and all, but the transfer rate between the two drives (one is Seagate 3.0 and one is WD 3.0) is only around 50 MB/sec...USB 2.0 speed, right? So, from what I've been able to find over the past couple of hours is that I can't contact WD about the card. They know nothing, and the product can't be found on their website. In device manager, it's listed as NEC Electronics, and it seems there's been some combination of forces between NEC Electronics and Renesas.
1. I have found updated drivers and firmware for NEC/Renesas USB 3.0 cards, but they are broken down into different models or families. For instance, most of them use a number along the lines of uPD720200/uPD720200A Version 2.1.27 WHQL uPD720201/uPD720202 Version 3.0.8.0 WHQL So, how do I find out what my uPD number is, so that I grab the right files?
2. Do I need to uninstall current drivers/software, remove the card from my PC, install the correct drivers, and then install the card back into my machine (See bit about installation instructions near beginning of post.) OR can I just find the updates and install them without removing the card? If so, do I uninstall the old drivers, or just install the new drivers and firmware over the top of the existing files?
I've got a Dell Inspiron 580, not very old...everything about it is okay, except the integrated graphics card. Someone recently gave me a GeForce 6600 card, and my GF bought me GW2 in anticipation.
I've got it installed, it seems to be properly seated on the motherboard, and it's connected to the power supply(had to get an adapter to make that work, it's got a 4-pin molex connector and all mine are 15-pin SATA's), but my computer doesn't seem to want to recognize it.
I've been to the GeForce site to try and download drivers, but it says it can't detect any hardware. Likewise, when I'm under Device Manager and I scan for hardware changes, nothing comes up under Display Adapters, it's still just the "Intel(R) HD Graphics" all by its lonesome.
I am unable to find any drivers for this Graphic Card. I am using TOSHIBA SATELLITE M65-S909 laptop and on the Toshiba web page I can download only drivers for Windos XP.
