View 1 RepliesI've recently switched to Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio Device) using one Toslink cable instead of all the analog wires going from my PC to my receiver. The digital sound is amazing, CD quality from my PC is great. However, I now also receive the digitized sound of pages being loaded as I surf the web. All sound comes out digitized when loading a new page.Is there a way to stop this from happening while listening to music or course material without gong back to analog? Can I have my digital CD quality and enjoy it too!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed Windows 7 home premium retail and have just added a Peak 221544AGPK DVB-T digital tv pci card. Unfortunately the card wont work and the driver wont install.
When I plug the card in to my PCI slot windows finds new hardware on reboot but this is the result.
My motherboard is the gigabyte GA-EX58 UD5 with an i7 920 cpu.
If i remove the card the unknown device dissapears so i know it is the tv card. Is there a way to fix this problem and get the tv card to work.
Tried to install the driver but the driver reports that the hardware cannot be found.
Tried the tv card in another pc and it works just fine.

I also have a HDHomeRun TV cable unit which is listed to work with MS Media Center. When I set up my Media Center/TV connection it recognizes my HDHomeRun TV connection and all three TV channels via my MCard I got from Comcast cable. But next to the last dialog window, during setting up my TV connection, I got the following message, "Your computer is not digital cable ready. You will not be able to set it up for use with a cable card."

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen building my Hifi mancave, I was smart enough to wire it for Cat6, etc, but not smart enough to put a few lines of cat 6 into my HTPC jack. So I only have 1 cat6 line into my computer area. My new receiver (Onkyo TX-NR809) has a ethernet port in it, which enables internet radio, media sharing, playing, firmware updating, etc. Being a techy guy I got another netcard and put it in my computer and I want to share internet to the receiver via LAN2.
I've been scouring the internet trying to figure out how to do this with Windows 7x64 to whatever system (probably linux based?). I've seen how to do it with Windows 7&XP, XP&XP, Windows 7&7 linux & Windows, and they all use some sort of "brige internet connection" or something like that, which doesn't apply to my situation. Will someone just tell me what IP stuffs to use for the following:

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having a confusing time trying to figure out why my internet went from 10+ Mbps down to <1 Mbps after simply downloading a wireless card driver. From the beginning:My wireless download speed was 10+Mbps, and I was using the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card. This information is found in the Device Manager, under "Network".The driver for the card was 5.30.x.y (I can't remember the specific version number, but I do remember it was 5.30.something.something). Upon navigating to the Dell webpage, I wanted to see if there were any drivers for the same wireless card that were more updated, to perhaps increase performanceI navigated to the page for my computer (Dell Latitude D830), here. That page is for my model laptop. You'll notice that, in the drop down for "Operating System", there is no option to select Windows 7.
Regardless, I navigated to the driver under "Network", the Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card, and downloaded it. It was version 5.60.188.1, from 11/9/2009. This is where my problem began. After installing the driver and rebooting, my internet speed instantly went to below 1 Mbps. I have no clue why installing a later wireless card driver would mess up my speed. My only hypothesis is that the driver I downloaded is only compatible with Vista. Do I just re-download driver version 5.30.x.y or something to get it back? Why did it get so slow?
I have a problem with my wireless internet card (Qualcomm Atheros Ar9485). It has trouble connecting to websites. Speed and ping is fine, but it is the connecting that often fails. I have done tests on my other computer and on my iPad, and everything works fine. I know that there is something wrong with the wifi card, because when I plug in my ethernet cable, everything works fine. My wifi drivers are up to date. I can still browse the web wirelessly, but 30-60% of the time, the connecting fails. I have had this kind of issue before (All browser slow/not loading pages) and I got the problem solved by switching wifi channels.

I put a password on the server, and typed in my computers name on my phone and tried to connect. I have Windows 7 (64-bit), and have TCP ports 5800-6000 open on Windows Firewall. Also, I have a McAfee Security Center. When I tap on the bookmark in the app, I type in the password only (since I'm not asked for a username) and it tries to connect for about 5-10 seconds before saying "failed to establish TCP connection." What do I do now?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently downloaded and installed a set of Windows Updates that came out on 4/26. I had about 8 of them. 4 of them installed successfully but 4 of them were downloaded and installed(on shutdown) but fail to configure on startup. The four I'm having issues with are:
KB2492386
KB2515325
KB2522422
KB982018
Each of these are updates for Windows 64-bit. I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with these as well. I plan on waiting a day or two and try again. I've tried twice today with no success. For future reference, what can cause an update to fail to configure?
