I'm building a new PC and I want to buy a retail full licensed version of Windows 7 Ultimate. I don't want OEM or any other kind of version. In my country Lithuania (Europe) it's ridiculously overpriced to $500 so I must buy it from the internet. I was about to buy it from Ebay for around $50-100 but then I figured out the truth. My friend informed me about all that region stuff. I mean most of them are "for distribution in US only" and thus the activation code is not going to work in my country Lithuania (Europe).
I am considering the purchase of a "Gigabyte GTX680 SOC 2gb" video card (Link) but I am starting to wonder whether the rest of my system's components should be upgraded first. I am thinking that they may be too much of a performance bottleneck to warrant the purchase of the new card.I currently have: i5 760 - overclocked to 3.4 ghz 8gb DDR3 1333 MHz RAM, probably will buy some 2133 MHz when I get the card 750W TP-750 Antec PSU GA-P55-USB3 motherboard, with two x16 GPU slots (one operates at x4 when in crossfire/sli though) HAF-X case,Acurrently have an HD6870 and will buying a faster card be that much noticeable with the system that I currently have? Or should I spend the money on upgrading the rest of the system first?
I have a toshiba laptop, which my friend has formated it, he had formated every thing n no os is in it, when windows 7 dvd is inserted in it it shows boot manager missing.

I relocated my 500gb hdd to insite. Before i had it as exernal hdd. But i get black screen when i start my pc. I get even if i remove it.in black screen here is also flashing "_". When i installed Windows 7 i didnt have it coneted witht pc. Sorry if here is some miss spells using mobile to write.
I think the problem comes from the last installation of partition magic 3 program in the windows 7. Now, when i start windows it goes to repairing starter and detect a problem with \?GLOBALROOTDEVICEHarddisk0Partition3Windows in Windows Directory. And the name of Problem is "StartupRepairOffice"
i have 2 windows 7 computers that dont recignize that i plugged in a mouse. i know the usb port works because i use thumbdrives and other usb devices and it recignizes them onecomputer is an alianware m11x laptop the other is a custom biult desktop computer i know the mice works because they work in my husbands laptop but neither of my computers plzzzzzz ive tried like 5 differnt mice and none work
laptop's windows 7 programs (My document, computer, pictures, recycle bin and etc.) won't open. The windows shows up but it only in white, next thing I know the Not Responding window will open and ultimately it restarts. I've tried installing anti-malware programs as some forums suggested but it didn't work. It's been like this for about two months now. I'm been using WMP's "open" button to navigate my way through my files because that is the only way I can open them.
i am having vista in my drive D: and windows 7 in drive C: and i want to use only windows 7 only..so can you tel me a way to remove vista so that i dont loose any of my data in windows 7 and which is less complicated too.

i am having an issue with my windows 7 icons not showing the proper picture on the taskbar. i recently reinstalled windows 7 ultimate. all of the programs open properly when you click them but they just do not show the proper icon. it just looks like a broken image and they are all the same.
I had Excel 2007 on Windows XP and now just upgraded to Windows 7. Excel 2007 (also tried the beta of Excel 2010) does not work well. The PASTE function losts it PASTE FORMULA and other paste special options. Sometime, it shows up but most of the time it's not there. CUT/INSERT cut cells are also gone.
First I know this has been asked a many times but no solutions seems to work for me. I have a bunch of stuff going wrong and all seems to related to each other. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.That is how the problem progressed:1. I was trying to enable Telnet service and found out that 'Turn Windows Features on/off' in Control panel > Programs and Features is a blank list.I checked on internet and i found out that it means my windows update wont be working as well so i check it:2. Windows update gives the error 80070002 and it does not check for updates.. Again check net and it said to run sfc/scannow in command prompt (as administrator). I did it. and it gives error 'Windows Resource Protection can't execute the command'.
I have tried everything. I have tried: msconfig.exe to enable/disable services and restarting and rechecking. Uninstalling my Avast Antivirus. Running MS Fixit toolI have checked disk check in advanced startup options. Deleted C:WindowsSoftwareDistributionDownload' contents and recheck the Windows update facility. Nothing works. I dont have Windows CD coz my laptop came installed with windows.
I can't use any commands in the cmd prompt. It says that the command is not a command.I installed a jdk from oracle so I could use Javac but now its the only one that works.
ok so i was messing around in the control prompt (cmd) menu and i came across the password change option. i didnt think i changed it but apparently i did. no i cannot log on to my user account which is administrator. i have no reset disc and no other acount. what can i do?
I added my mother's contacts to her address book but when you make a new email and you hit TO this is what we see. yet she can click on address book and boom they're there so why arnt they showing up in the TO: if this group has a newsgroup please provide the details it would save me alot of time.
ok i have just been given a dell desktop by my partners sister as she was just going to bin it so i said i would have it to see if i can fix it... so the problem is it needs a good clean inside the tower as its full of dust, so i connect it all up and boot the tower and monitor up and i see on the monitor the dell startup logo then it goes off quick and i can see the faded loading bar then i dont see anything just black screen, and the tower shuts itself off and back on again a few times and then jus the tower iv just cleaned out, never seen so much dust in my life lol its sound smooth when running now as all the fans have been taken out and cleaned and even the power supply as that had quite a bit of dust in ihavent got another monitor to test with, was trying to find a way to use my laptop on the monitor i will re install windows once i can get it up and running..
I was streaming some anime then out of nowhere my computer blue screens,it restarts fine, windows runs fine but a few letters on my keyboard stopped working. The icons on my desktop keep going to the left side of the screen. I have unchecked the option to "auto arrange" several times, but it keeps moving the icons to the left side of the screen anyway.Are there any alternatives for me having quick access to the programs, folders etc that I use on a regular basis other than putting them on the desktop as shortcuts?? I may or may not be using some of these terms in the correct way?Can I move them down to the task bar? How many icons will the task bar hold? Can I have multiple task bars? Will this slow down my computer? What does it mean to create a library for shortcuts?why do some items appear under the start menu and others dont?
I've installed windows server and Virtual PC Console to setup a new Virtual Machine. I can setup the machine but not run it because I don't have an ISO File. When Im gonna start my VM I get a messages that says; Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device. I have no Idea how to create an ISO file so this will work, never done it and when I use google to try to find ISO file that I can download I don't find a website that can take a nob like me through this.Bootable ISO - Create from Installation Files;Is there any way to make an ISO file that I dont have to burn or use USB?? I just want to have it on my desktop if possible.
as it says in the topic, my browser works fine but all other programs cannot connect to the internet. also windows firewall gives me error code 0xd69 and 0x80070424.ive seen a topic on here with someone with the same issue but no solutions.ive tried AV scans and windows repairs but none of them worked. i cant get windows to update either.
