I suddenly get this BSOD on my laptop this morning . It was fine for 4 months . Then my little brother plays some games ( Torchlight 2 , some mini games from Popcap ) The laptop gets BSOD .

My issue is that my fan runs very loudly and does not turn off during idle/slow periods. I downloaded the speedfan program and this is how it looks currently. [URL]I don't think the difference between idle and running Chrome + Steam in the background would be enough to matter, so i'm not in a completely idle mode now. This is essentially my constant setup.I'm rather inept when it comes to these things so i'm really not sure if this is even a problem or not. I know that cpu fans are always running, but i can't imagine 2800-2900 rpm being an idle speed. My temperatures are stable(as far as i know) and they only get to about 45% during heavier cpu usage. I cleaned out the dust in the system, but i think i may have missed the heatsink or whatever itself.I have also heard that doing a disk cleanup and defragmentation can solve the issue of a fan running constantly, however, doing that did not seem to help.

I updated drivers and that didn't help either. I ran my antivirus and it came up empty. It's been happening probably 10 times a day for the past 3 or 4 days. this laptop is only a little over a week old and I already moved into and got comfy. I'm REALLY not trying to return it and move in all over again. Maybe you guys can help me out.

I have a lenovo u400, my processor is an i5 and it run around 50 C when doing normal browsing. runs at 60-70 C when watching movies or light gaming. My Tj. max is 100 C, never seen it pass 75 C. I just bought my laptop a month ago, so I don't know what's the deal. When I touch the bottom of my laptop is feels pretty cool.I have ran malwarebytes and MSE and have not found anything. I have also ran a memory test and everything looks fine.It usually happens when I'm watching a video from a website. My computer just reboots, no bsod or error message. I don't know what to do next. What can I do to troubleshoot this further?

When I play Games or doing normal browsing, my computer will hang and everything will freeze for about a minute or two. It's more when I play Video games than when I surf the internet. It then returns to normal and I can do whatever for the next 10-15 minutes, and then it does it again. I tryed to get past it but it starts to do it more frequently.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy PC since a week has started freezing randomly one or twice a day. All the windows stay open, the mouse does not move,. Even Ctrl+Alt+Delete does not work; CAPS Lock light does not get toggled. Sometimes it happens after just 10 mins of startup, sometimes after a few hours. It has always happened under normal usage, ie. no games/Photoshop/3ds Max running. Just Firefox running or sometimes even while no app running. Once it happened while I was scanning a picture, and the scanning head (the light-tube) of the scanner also froze midway.

I ran memtest86 for 3 passes (1 hour +) and it showed 0 errors. My installation is 1 year old. I've ran disk cleanup to clear temp files and stuff, and I've got 20 out of 90 GB free in my C: Drive (Win 7 partition) and 200 out of ~850GB on my secondary partition. The last program I had installed is LogMeIn Hamachi which I have uninstalled, but the PC froze once again after the uninstallation! I also got my PC case internals and especially the CPU heatsink fan (without detaching the fan/heatsink) cleaned.. but I'm not getting any CPU overtemp error anyways.

I just cleaned my laptop and it released a lot of dust, so my temperature is lower. The weather is currently very, very, very hot and my laptop is running 55-60C normally when i browse the internet, in a very hot room. Before i cleaned it - it was very hotter. I'm even sweating and i don't wear a shirt. But that's not the point. I i am running prime95 to test the processor, and after 1 minute of 100% usage it gets to 90C in the hot room again. But when i go to a clearly cold room, it doesn't turn off, it barely reaches 80-85C but never the maximum 90C.are the fans not spinning correctly or is the room temperature really important for a laptop?

But it crashes after 4-5 min of driving, it starts up at BIOS Screen, with 3 beeps and then it goes to windows startup restore, and it cant startup windows either. View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been getting random lockups for quite some time however here is the kicker,it ONLY happens with more than 4GB of RAM installed...anything less than 4GB I am perfectly fine but anything more my computer locks up totally randomly.Random bits of information: Tested all of my RAM sticks individually and in any combination I can think of,as long as the total is nothing more than 4GB I'm fine and dandy but soon as I hit 6,8,10(Due to what sticks I have I can only go up in multiples of 2GB) I get random lockups.Lockups can happen on desktop when I'm afk and the computer is completely idle,after 2 hours of intensive gaming killing splicers in Bioshock 2 or just while I'm transcoding a movie on the fly(This actually seems to be relatively safe,does not happen often)On the lockup whatever sound that was playing repeats(The last 0.2 seconds of it or something) so it sounds like BZZZZTTTTTT no matter whatNew motherboard,new PSU and hard drives passed a chkdisk recently(Albeit with some grumbling from them about bad sectors)SFC scan completed,no problems to report with my file integrity.PSU has plenty of power for the systemJust recently installed SP1(After the problem started) in an attempt to fix it,to no avail by the looks of the recent lockup and now I have no updates pending so windows is fully updated.
Obviously checkSUR ran with no problems before installing SP1Booting into an Ubuntu liveCD and running random stressy things for the computer does not produce the same effects,it runs perfectly fine.Computer temp is high but within an acceptable range most of the timeOnce it crashes/locks up once it sometimes does the same on boot again and again till I just leave the thing alone for an hour or two and try booting it up againEvent Viewer just shows this for each event when it locks up and I'm forced to reboot it manually:[CODE]
I don't understand why this system is crashing. Replace motherboard and it keeps doing it no rhythm or reason to it. So I thought I give it a push out to here to see if I can get any feedback from you all.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had this machine built just over a year ago, and only had occasional crashes (no particular activities seemed to generate the issue). About 2 months ago the crashes became more persistent, and upon restarting the machine would have trouble loading normal mode. At the screen that reads "welcome" the spinning wheel would simply freeze, and the computer would lock up. As this problem persisted the computer would either automatically reboot itself each time, or crash into a BSOD and run a dump. I can, however, start it in Safe Mode without issue. It had been running the same install of windows 7 ultimate x64 until a couple of weeks ago when I attempted to reinstall. This solved nothing, so I reinstalled again, this time deleting the partitions and formatting the drive. Again, the problems persist. I'm inclined to think they're hardware related at this point, but I'm in no way an expert.

I was doing nothing extraordinary either time, just browsing the web (in fact, the second time I was getting ready to post this). The blue screen flashed too quickly but I think it was stop error 116 and the file was ati something .sys. I suspect gfx card because of this. I've attached all the dump information.
OS is OEM, reinstalled 1 year ago. Mobo, CPU, RAM, secondary HDD are 2.5 years old. SSD (boot drive) is 1 year old. Gfx card, PSU are 6 months old. Other maybe useful info about the gfx card is that it has been behaving strangely before. Last week and other times, Windows Aero would suddenly turn off, and the gfx temperature would rise ~5-10C and fan would go crazy. Rebooting fixed this, at least temporarily.
I have SLI GTX 580s. Yesterday I was playing a lot of The Secret World and the computer was working fine. I shut down and today when I try to start it up I get a BSOD and the computer reboots. I can start it in safe mode and I get this message:[CODE]I tried both cards by themselves, one of them works fine but the other one gets these errors. I don't know what to do. They were both absolutely fine yesterday, no artifacts show up on screen for the card that isnt working, just when I install Nvidia drivers it all goes to hell.

View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I just got back from a 3 day vacation, and when I came back I rebooted my computer only to come back to the "Start Windows Normally/ launch startup repair" naturally I chose startup repair, it froze. Tried starting normally, took me back to the same page. So I tried booting in safe mode, took me to the BSOD that read Bad_pool_header. So then I tried to putting in my windows 7 installation disc to see if I could do a system recover from there, but as soon as I try boot up with the disc it takes me back to the same BSOD. I feel completely stuck as I've tried everything I can think of.
