HoN or Steam games like mass effect, dead space etc will crash. Everything was working fine until I tried to upgrade my nvidia drivers to play BF3 and since then I can't figure out why it won't work. ever since last friday i have been getting bsod. my occured while playing lotro (lord of the rings online, mmo) and while playing windowd i tried to play a Internet video. which has never given me any problems before. also msn and some other firefox tabs were open.then saturday and sunday more bsod came in. during browsing, during doing nothing, on the windows inlog screen. i can't really put my finger on it. putting load on the system doesn't trigger it, nor does firefox, lotro, seems a bit random.only software stuff that changed since friday is a java update, daily avira anti virus definitions update and i installed guild wars 2.i tried to look at the bluescreens logs myself, but i really have no clue what i'm looking at, so if you could check for me that would be awesome.

I've had a problem with video games. They would freeze and only way to turn of my computer is through the power cable or power switch on back of desktop. After that if i try to turn on my computer it would freeze at random moments without letting me even get the my screen (this, what im doin now) and i need to let it "cool off" for hours before it lets me go back, no this is not a heat issue my heat is no higher than 43degrees most of time blow 40.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIt can be any game from something like Minecraft to Battlefield 3 which causes problems for me. The first conclusion I could make was that there may be a problem with my Video card as playing high end games like BF3 can be very demanding on the average computer. I have updated drivers and tried to fix it to no end. These BSODs seem to happen at least 1-3 times a day. The crash dumps can happen both when starting up the game or while I am playing it. I don't know whether any of this information is useful or whether it is even related to what can be seen by analysing the files from sf-diagnostic. All the files needed should be attached.

A friends PC keeps crashing after a few hours of usage (watching movies, listening to music). I've been attempting to troubleshoot it but I'm not to sure about how to find the cause of the problem. Based on my google search, which led me here, it's caused by either RAM, HDD, Drivers or overheating. I unfortunately can't get the dump right now, but I did get the info from the event log.The computer has rebooted from bugcheck. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have done a fresh install with hopes of it possibly being a driver error but I believe it may be an hardware issue as I just had another BSOD while playing a game. On a side note this is usually when I get the BSOD either playing a game or trying to livestream, which leaves me to believe it maybe is a RAM/GPU error.

So I tried older drivers but without any result. After that I thought it was an issues with Win 7 64bit. So I installed 32bit. But still I get the bsdod.

There is no error or such, i can just click again on the game icon, but it will dropp out after 5 minutes.This happens also while i surf the internett and do other stuff. View 3 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing BSOD at random times. This is frustrating because I am pretty sure I eliminated all the possible reasons for my computer to Blue Screen. I changed my motherboard, I scanned my hard drive, got all the drivers for my video cards, etc. I also checked my ram one by one.

This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem. The crash took place in the Windows kernel. i have been getting blue screens only while playing video games after about 20-40 min. I have been able to stop them, but to do so i have to set up a huge fan next to my computer.So i assumed the problem was from overheating. View 9 Replies View RelatedSo before I begin, here are the stats of my laptop.Asus G60JX, Windows 7 - x64, Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M -OEM -1 1/2 years old. Have never reformatted or reinstalled OS. So i've had this gaming laptop for around 1 1/2 years old and it's been blue screening since as long as i can remember. I should have taken the laptop back but at that time i was not very knowledgeable about computers (still aren't), and didn't know how bad BSOD's were. As far as the BSOD's go, it actually doesn't occur too frequently, maybe like once every month or so. But, it has happened on a consistent basis, ever since as long as i can remember. 95% of the time, the BSOD's occur while playing games.

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy hdd died, so i opted for a fresh install of windows 7 professional on the new hdd. i reinstalled all my programs and drivers and such. but i've had the same problem ever since:sometimes, randomly, when i start my computer, these things happen all at once:microsoft games (solitaire, minesweeper, majong, etc.) will not open. i double-click on them, and then nothing. no error, nothing to indicate the computer is trying to open them. if i go directly to the application and try to open them there, same thing. video does not play correctly. in wmp, it just plays the audio and displays a small screenshot of the video (as if it were album art).
divx player won't play anything at all. vlc player would open a separate screen called yuv sdl output. but the latest update for vlc fixed that. if i try to play a dvd, i get this error:windows media player cannot play dvd video. you might need to adjust your windows display settings. open display settings in control panel, and then try lowering your screen resolution and color quality settings. changing the settings does nothing. in radeon catalyst control center, when i'm adjusting the video settings, i will get an error stating the sample video cannot load. if i were to play a game like portal 2 or fallout: new vegas, nothing happens. i put in the disc, and nothing happens. i double-click on the disc, and nothing happens - just as with the windows games. all of these happen at once, randomly, when i start my computer - sometimes everything works fine, sometimes it all stops working. restarting my laptop usually fixes the problem.i went through and updated all my drivers, including the graphics drivers and updated radeon catalyst control center.
-edit-when on Internet or other streaming media sites (doesn't matter which player is being used) if i try to go fullscreen, it turns the screen black and opens a new tab called adobe flash player. but this "tab" is just transparent and nothing displays. the sound still displays fine though. i also can't do anything. everywhere i click, it just stops/plays the sound (as if it was in fullscreen). i have to hit windows+tab or ctrl+alt+delete to get back to regular view.
-edit 2-found another thing affected. i went to check my windows experience index score and it said there is no information available; you haven't run the test yet. but i have multiple times. so i go to run it and nothing happened. i tried several times but had no response.
my computer did have BSOD problem since I've tried to add 2 GB of RAM on my Windows XP SP 3 on October 2011. BSOD came out after playing a game for 6-30 minutes (or game application crashed) or viewing a video (random occurence). After getting no results of all to cure BSOD, I decided to change my OS to Windows 7 and I still got this problem. I've tried to bring my CPU to service center with no luck at all.
Here, I attached my recent dump and perfmon report with it. Although a few hours before I post this thread, I cleaned earlier dumps with CCleaner. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been getting random lockups for quite some time however here is the kicker,it ONLY happens with more than 4GB of RAM installed...anything less than 4GB I am perfectly fine but anything more my computer locks up totally randomly.Random bits of information: Tested all of my RAM sticks individually and in any combination I can think of,as long as the total is nothing more than 4GB I'm fine and dandy but soon as I hit 6,8,10(Due to what sticks I have I can only go up in multiples of 2GB) I get random lockups.Lockups can happen on desktop when I'm afk and the computer is completely idle,after 2 hours of intensive gaming killing splicers in Bioshock 2 or just while I'm transcoding a movie on the fly(This actually seems to be relatively safe,does not happen often)On the lockup whatever sound that was playing repeats(The last 0.2 seconds of it or something) so it sounds like BZZZZTTTTTT no matter whatNew motherboard,new PSU and hard drives passed a chkdisk recently(Albeit with some grumbling from them about bad sectors)SFC scan completed,no problems to report with my file integrity.PSU has plenty of power for the systemJust recently installed SP1(After the problem started) in an attempt to fix it,to no avail by the looks of the recent lockup and now I have no updates pending so windows is fully updated.

I get a computer crash while im playing skyrim. Its currently the only task I'v been experiencing this crash. The computer freezes, in the last frame of the game. I get a nasty sound in my headset, like a eletric interface kinda sound. The keyboard and mouse gets disabled (no lights or response)

My desktop keeps stuttering every few minutes or so. I have all of the drivers up to date and I cannot figure out what is wrong. The problem occurs the most while watching Netflix and playing games, but happens pretty regularly in general.

Every time I try to log into WoW (Initial login, when game first loads into the server) My computer just freezes with the display frozen. I can get into the game for half a second before it freezes. I usually have to manually restart. I first started noticing this issue about a week ago when I was playing and I encountered the kernel power event 41 issue. It was fine at first because it would only happen when I would play Blacklight (Free fps). As the days went on I decided to reformat my PC because the HDD I was using before crash and had a boot sector which wouldn't let me boot up anymore. I switched out that HDD eventually but this is where things get weird..
As that HDD wasn't booting up it got to the point where my computer would have power but the motherboard wouldn't load and I couldn't even get my display to work on my monitor. I did some research and I came across a solution that had me run the golden plates on each of my memory sticks against a pencil eraser to get rid of the static I suppose.. Well that turned out to work because I was finally able to get to the windows logo screen but then it would shutdown and restart during that screen.
It's the only thing I can think of because I just reformatted a new HDD completely separate from the one that had the bad boot sector.. In any case I've uploaded my zip file. You guys may notice there's no DMP file.. Well I followed the instructions on the forum post and when my computer crash and I manually restarted it, when I got back into windows and ran the SF diagnostic tool.. It was able to find everything but any DMP files. When I tried it said "No dump files found"..
My Computer turns of randomly when i play a game called Alliance of Valiant Arms. It will just turn off at a random time. It never use to do this but now it does it alot... My computer has o viruses or spyware or anything. All clean.
