So last night I was on my comp, and got hit with a BSOD out of nowhere. System restarted, and now when windows loads, the desktop icons wont show up, and neither will the taskbar, then the whole thing just freezesI try to run in safe mode, and this will work for only about 1 minute or so until it freezes as well.

I was browsing the internet on my firefox when suddenly the links that i opened up where not loading at all. All it had was a blank white screen. I restarted the firefox and the computer but it was still not working. The internet explorer was acting the same way. I tried several solutions such as clearing my cache, changing the proxy settings but it froze the windows 7 when doing so.
My anti-virus program that i brought (Trend Mirco) had expired 2 or 3 days ago. I'm not sure if i have a anti-virus, i just downloaded avg for free but when i try to scan the computer it freezes again.

i have random freezes sometimes they are glitchy and rarely bsod all on bootup or up to about half hour in (which also turns of the mouse). also Internet doesn't autoplay playlists and all sugestions next to the video are black. this started a few weeks to a month ago, first it seemed just a minor annoyance but it started to become more often the last few days. i've tried some checks but without success.
also i remember the week before those crashes that twice the screen driver crashed for a second or 2 and then a message popped up about how a monitor driver crash was adjusted, always when i played a certain game that is still in beta so i taught it was the game.

I have a Lenovo Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium on it (32 bit). Everything worked fine until all the sudden the computer stoped working and there was this dash beeping... appears and disappears... It happend before the loading of the windows. On the BIOS stage.
So I told my girlfriend to bring the laptop over so I could take a look at the problem. It took her about a week or two to remember that she need to bring the computer over, so here we are... I turned on the computer and I noticed that everything is fine until the loading of the windows stage has come... And its just stuck. I turn it on and it gets me right to the Safe Mode and Last Known good stage... I tried starting it normally, in safe mode and every other possible way but the safe mode doesn't work, the last know good config is loading but stuck at the windows logo and then it gives me a BSOD for less than a second and restarts the computer.
I dont know what to do. I entered the Windows CD that I have from when I bought the laptop and I click on "Repair" but it doesn't show any windows. Its just stuck again.
I have no idea what to do, and I need the files on this laptop so I can't reinstall windows just yet...

I have tried chkdsk c: /f /r and no luck. Tried updating bios. I have tried a system restore but it doesnt work. i cant boot into safemode either.
I seem to get a BSOD whenever the computer is under a load ex: playing online games or d/l torrents. For some reason the last .dmp file that I have is from 2/1/2012 but I got a BSOD 2 times in the last hour. I have done memory tests in the bios and windows and it said that they are fine. My laptop is a hp pavillion dv7-1448dx I am running a amd turion x2 w/ 4gig memory I will post the last 2 .dmp files. Can someone please let me know whats going on I think that my MOBO is going bad and I hope thats not the case.

win 7 hangs on startup and freezes or BSOD 0x000000d1 within 1 minute usually. system runs fine if I boot to safe mode.no serious hardware or software changes around the time it started happening (that i recall) I didn't use my pc much for a few days and then the first time i noticed (around June 7th, 2012) I just logged in and there was a popup saying something like windows had recovered from an unexpected shutdown and the system was really slow and then it froze. Makes me think maybe a power outage corrupted something (i'm not on a UPS) or a windows update went badly. i tried to update several drivers in safe mode but none were succesfull. I have a Compaq persario CQ62 laptop i was on facebook about a week ago and signed out and my computer froze i powered it down and when i turned it on i thought it was going to start and then it went to a blue screen. I am doing this from another computer because i cant get that one to boot from anything disk or drive. Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit (retail) installed for about a week.
I am trying to troubleshoot regular BSOD's on my system. They seem to occur during HD video playback (XMBC) or under other system load like downloading large files (from newsgroups) where the speed is fairly high (apx. 2mbps).
I recently replaced my single core CPU for a dual-core thinking it may help, but it didn't. Now, I'm wondering if it could be the memory. I did the windows memory check, and it reported errors, but I don't where to find the log or what to do next.
A few weeks ago I upgraded from windows XP to windows 7 and did a clean install.Everything was working smoothly except when the Visual setting is set on Quality vs. Performance, either my computer would completely freeze after a few minutes and I have to do a hard boot OR it's going to give me the black screen flicker then "Display Driver Stopped Responding and has recovered" error. Most of the time it doesn't recover though and it just freezes completely.I wish I could provide a BSOD minidump but my comp never BSOD. Only freezes with no keyboard/mouse activity. Applications affected:Computer also freezes/show me the error when I try to play video on itunes, play minecraft, while playing Sims 2 and league of legends. Seems to me that all the application that puts stress on the GPU doesn't work anymore :But the thing is, all these said applications were FINE when I was running windows XP.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had trouble with BSODS and screen freezes on and of for a couple of weeks. Sometimes there is no dumpfile and sometimes there is nothing in event viewer. I uninstalled Avast free and the problem was gone for 4 days. I've tried almost everything. Cleaning out dust updating drivers sfc scannow/ diskcheck. I also reinstalled an image from before the problems started I had another this morning but no log I attacked what I've found relating to it. This is a Windows 7 64 bit with 8 gig ram and a NVIDIA GT 9800 video card. It's a HP dt500.

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy PC is freezing randomly. There appears to be no pattern to this. The cursor freezes and the screen does not alter - no BSOD. No response from keyboard or mouse and requires a hard reboot.
I thought it may be when it was trying to go into sleep mode, so I disabled this and only allowed to hibernate. However, it is still crashing. I have checked memory by switching memory to different sockets and also going to single channel (2 2GB sticks). I have replaced ageing video card. I have been forced through chkdsk and not found errors on disks.
When I turn on my PC, a few minutes (can be up to 30 minutes) my PC either freezes or freezes for a few seconds then BSOD comes up for around 5 seconds, then my PC restarts. This only happens once a day, and it's only the first time I start my PC every day.

My computer will 100% freeze after roughly 10 mins of use (doesnt matter what i do in the 10 mins). I'm running windows 7 home 32 bit, i5 quad core (cant rmb alot of details, will dig up more soon), asus p8p67 mobo, wd 1tb green and 4gb ram.
The only way to "unfreeze" my computer is to restart it, if i leave it as it is without restarting I'll get a BSOD that says "KERNEL INPAGE DATA ERROR"

i have a laptop 3 years now, a Sony VGN-NW21SF. My laptop gives me random BSOD's and often freezes. I dont perform any special operation when these incidents occur. The Laptop may be idle when this happens. Sometimes, i leave the computer turned on, and when i come back either the system has frozen requiring a pwr_btn shutdown, or has restarted with BSOD's. I have no indication on what is causing this, only one suspicion. That my Laptop is not compatible with SSD's. I suspect this because if i remeber correct, these BSOD's and Freezes, started when i first installed an SSD. Then i changed this SSD with another one, but still the problem remained.I have thrown away two ssd's and after i purchased a third one, different brand, different capacity the problems persist... Needless two say that now i feel like an idiot blaming and throwing away two ssd's... Because it can't be 3 ssd's with the same problem..... The other obeservation is that the BSOd may not happen for more than a month, and suddenly it may happen 4 times per day...

First it started off with my laptop crashing, I had totally forgot it needed to do a windows update and turned off my laptop in hopes that it would work properly. After that my laptop has not been working. The machine turns on and gives me two options. Start windows normally or do a repair. Upon starting windows normally, it loads so far before sending me back to the two options of start windows normally or repair. On the second time I clicked repair. My laptop then goes so far before presenting me with a blue screen that is usually the screen where my accounts are. The cursor still moves but it loads no further even after leaving it an hour. I decided to make a repair disk, hoping that the problem was because of windows. the disk loads, gives me a choice on the keyboard language then does nothing. I honestly have no idea what to do, I want to keep all the files safe on my computer as I havent backed them up and I have worked so hard on the projects.

Basically what happens is it will freeze seemingly at random times (at first I thought it was firefox, but I just got it again using google chrome... I'm not sure if its related to browsing the internet or not) and the computer will, after a short period of time, become completely unresponsive. I can't even load task manager so the only way to turn of the computer is with the power button. One of the times my computer freezed I got a BSOD and it said "driver power state failure". I took a picture of it and I can provide the other information too if you need me too. I can return this computer by monday if it sounds like a hardware issue but if its not then I would much rather fix it because I've already put so much time into transferring all my files

I got a tech guy in to look at how I built it, do mem tests and hard drive tests and he said that the motherboard must be faulty. I then sent the motherboard back and they gave me a replacement.I now have put it back together and am STILL getting BSOD's or my screen just freezes. It can run for quite a while without crashing if I am just using facebook or just cruising the web but when I start using skype or play games or have a few different programs open it is more likely to crash. However it does crash even when I am just using Chrome.

When it restarts sometimes it has to boot a couple of times, it seems as though it can' boot the BIOS, the bios splash screen is also different, this also changed 2 days ago. The first couple of times it froze, now it just restarts randomly. I suspect the motherboard.

I just did some upgrades to my pc. Here are the current specs:

RAM: 4x4GB Ballistix Tactical Tracer

OS: Windows 7 x64 Clean Install
HD: WDC-WD2500KS-00MJB0
Like it says above, this is a clean install. I have tested the RAM with Memtest86+ for 8 hours and found no errors. I have tested the HD with Seatools and found no errors. I have run Prime95 for hours without errors. I water cool my CPU and GPU and temps max at 37C.The OS constantly hangs, freezes, or whatever its called NONSTOP. Most of the time I'm able to move the mouse but can't DO anything with it. Eventually (within minutes) it comes back to life and does everything I'd been trying to do while it was frozen. I don't get much time inbetween freezes (a minute max between freezes). I've reinstalled the OS several times and no joy. At first I thought it was a bad motherboard, so I RMA'd it and it is still having the same issue. These freezes began happening well before video drivers were even installed (or any other drivers for that matter). It even does the same thing in SAFE MODE.from the EVENT VIEWER:

I was playing Civ 5 when I got a BSOD for the first time. I've been playing Civ for a few months with no problems until now. After the BSOD I've been getting random freezes. It happens when web browsing, listening to itunes, playing civ etc.. I am using a few month old lenovo with Windows 7 Home Premium(64bit)
