It just started one day and even after reinstalling windows 2 days ago, the problem is still there.Whenever I watch a movie any video format including high quality, mkv files my video lags, the picture just freezes, gets choppy, the sound continues to work, but video is freezing and eventually I have no other solution than click pause/play a few times, so the picture and sound gets correct again. Either of these starts windows then goes blank and re starts.When i go into the bios and boot from a disc it starts windows but then the windows screen shows but it has no start up and just freezes. I have tried to re install windows again and it get to the language settings page and the goes starting windows and it does not do anymore just stays on the strating windows page.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a year old Toshiba laptop that just stopped booting up this week. Worked fine Sunday, then Monday it would not start. Black screen with the option to repair or start normally. Repair goes through the motions and then states it was unsuccessful. Starting normally will eventually reach the desktop, but nothing will function at that point. The pointer is in perpetual hourglass when held over the task bar. Nothing, such as Explorer, will start.I pulled the hard drive out and connected it to another Win 7 computer via SATA/USB cable set. Initially, I could see the drive and access the files. Foolishly, I chose to run an antivirus before backing up the files. I was concerned about backing up the potential problem. MalwareBytes did not identify any malicious files, but Semantic threw up a warning about Yontoon-S.exe, so I attempted to delete it via Explorer. That action locked up Explorer. I rebooted the host computer. I should have backed up first because now I am unable to see the files. Explorer will assign the drive a letter, but when I select the drive to do anything, Explorer thinks about it for some time and then puts up a message that the drive must be formatted before it can be used. I do not want to reformat until I recover my data first. I tried to use SeaTools to diagnose drive problems. Drive fails the short generic test. I am not able to run Check Disk because Explorer thinks the drive must be formatted first. How can I get to the data before reformatting?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI brought a HP Pavilion laptop from ebay quite a while ago now, the only problem listed was that the battery didn't work. The laptop worked fine for months and then it started to crash, when it crashed I couldn't do anything, the mouse wouldn't move and none of the keys would work either so all I could do was hold the power button in to shut it down. The charge light seems to flash just before the laptop crashes. I thought the problem might of been with the battery so I brought a new battery for the laptop. It still wouldn't recognise there was a battery plugged in, sometimes it won't have a red cross on the battery but will say "plugged in but not charging". I have noticed now that when the laptop does crash if I unplug the charger for a second and plug it back in (as the charge doesn't hold on the battery) the laptop will start working again. I was thinking the problem may lie with the charger or the bit inside the laptop the charger plugs into.

I was using a Sony, it broke, I bought an ipod and it wasn't recognized by my computer at all when I plugged it in, but because my phone and camera both work in the USB ports I thought it was the ipod and returned it. View 5 Replies View RelatedI found that MC was ideal to work with my TV tuner and making immediate or scheduled recordings is a doddle. The .wtv recording is readily burned to a DVD in Video-TS format using MC and this is playable on my DVD player. There is still the problem of having to fast-forward the run-in and commercials but for a one time review on my TV this is not really a problem.
What is a problem is where you have a particular recording which you want to edit and and then produce a DVD which can be played on any player. I found the basic editing of removing start and end sections and splitting to remove commercials easy using Windows Movie Maker. This edited version can be saved as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file which can be viewed on the computer in Movie Maker but if burned to DVD, cannot be played in a DVD player. It can also be saved as a .mp4 file but this also cannot be read by any DVD players. Media Center does not recognise either of these formats so cannot be used to burn to DVD.
is there a convenient way to both edit the recorded TV and then save it on a DVD in a format which can be played on a regular DVD player? Alternatively, is there a program which can read .wmv and .mp4 and burn to DVD in Videa-TS?
I can't seem to get smooth playback with any videos and it's driving me insane. I've tried WMP, VLC, MPC-HC, and it makes little difference. It doesn't matter if it's 1080p or low res.Every video plays as if it has a a very low frame rate; basically a subtle lag/stuttering that gives me a headache if I look at it for too long. It's not really noticeable until there's quick movement in the video, I've tried many different output settings in these players, and used several different codec packs.

I am trying to repair a 1.5 year-old HP Pavilion running Windows 7 Home Premium 64. This machine is used as the main office computer in a small doctor's office. In spite of my warnings, anti-virus software was not installed until it was too lateThere was a major issue about seven months ago that required another company to repairThe problem is explorer.exe will not run. Double-clicking a shortcut on the desktop, clicking the text name of a program from the Start menu, and even in the cmd results in the same response, a dialog box pops up stating windows explorer has stopped working.
windows is checking for a solution to the problem. followed by another box stating windows explorer is restarting. But the requested application never starts. I have run the Ultimate Boot CD 4 Win, replaced the hard drive and cloned all data, run numerous registry scans, malware scans and antivirus scans. Initially removing over 1500 virus/malware hits and over 1400 registry errors. But the main problem persists, explorer.exe won't open programs.
I am running Windows 7, ver. 7000, on a LG S1 Laptop.
Everything has gone pretty well so far.
But trying to get the drivers and software installed for the direct media buttons hasn't gone so well.
I used the Vista drivers from LG, I had to run them with Vista compatibility. They seemed to run ok, but the buttons don't function any differently and I can't find the service anywhere except in the "programs and features" ie "add remove software"
Anyone have any ideas or had a similar issue?
