Whenever I am trying to play many mp3 files in WMP 11,it show media changing message and cycles through all songs very fast automatically without playing any one of them.I am unable to play more than one song.The WMP freezes sometimes.I cant even create a playlist,it is constantly moving up and down like lines of programming.I cant really explain it in words.I hope u get the picture.
View 1 RepliesI have a problem with my Windows 7 Media Center. When I try playing a DVD on it (does for only some DVDs), it plays the background music and the video, just the voices are gone. I made sure it wasn't just the movie by enabling closed captioning and using a regular DVD player. On the regular DVD player, it ran with everything voices and all. Anyone know what could be wrong? I do have Home Premium so it shouldn't be the codecs I'd guess, but I'm new to this stuff.

It just started one day and even after reinstalling windows 2 days ago, the problem is still there.Whenever I watch a movie any video format including high quality, mkv files my video lags, the picture just freezes, gets choppy, the sound continues to work, but video is freezing and eventually I have no other solution than click pause/play a few times, so the picture and sound gets correct again. View 8 Replies View RelatedMy computer has a Intel(R) HD Graphics Family card. I've been having problems viewing 720HD scenes. Windows Media Player and VLC players cannot skip parts of the videos. The videos will freeze and the programs will crash after waiting a few minutes to continue the scene.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI decided to come here because everyone here is far more helpful then over on the microsoft site. My first question is I am modding my sims 2 game. I use to be able to copy the file into my downloads folder no problem. I did an update a few days ago and now all of a sudden as I am copying them I get file destination name is to long for the folder. I have renamed them and it helps but it sucks doing it when I never had the problem before.Next question I asked on the microsoft forums over a week ago and no answer. My media player has doubles of each album. It really sucks when I am listening to my media player and have to listen to the album twice. I tried taking them out resetting it and at first it only put the first one and then sure enough it redoubled them. I don't know if it is because I have itunes. How can I fix this please? Is it because of itunes? Is it something I just have to live with and choose to use itunes or media player and not have both?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got all my music in an external drive. When i configured bakups i selected that same external drive as destination to back up to.
Now, i added the music from that drive to windows media player and now, when the computer backs up, i've got this error telling me some files were omitted (namely all the music) because they're on the same drive as the backup's destination.
I'm going to use WMP because it's already there (regardless of there being a million better choices of media players/managers) so don't bother suggesting otherwise.
My question is: is there any special folder i should avoid backing up so this error doesn't happen? (like the one that contains WMP database)

I have just installed Civilization 4 and when it loads the screen flickers blue while the movies are playing and then when its on the main menu it flickers but not a blue screen just its all weird.
I can remember last week Windows Update updated my SIS mirage 3 graphics driver and i have had windows 7 installed for about 2 weeks now.
Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I have recently installed Windows, and from the start, I have had problems ejecting the media. Here is how it goes:I plug in the disks, they are all functioning, they show up and can be used.I want to eject them so I can disconnect the cable. I go to the system tray, and must click the "show hidden icons" arrow to see the icon for "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media"; I click it and choose one of the disks to eject. Upon doing so, the disk ejects, and I remove it.At that point, the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon moves to the main system ray area (not hidden)--but from this point on, it does not work. No matter how I click or right-click, there is no pop-up menu, no reaction at all. Right-clicking on each drive in the "Computer" window does not reveal any option to eject the disk safely.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI can play most DVDs without any bother with VLC. I recently got 'The World at War - Ultimate Restored Edition', but the discs won't play!
First, VLC just wouldn't open the DVD. I kept trying, and eventually it opened the DVD, but the audio and video were massively choppy.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalled VLC. Now the audio and video are distinctly less choppy, but it's still very irritating.
It's just these DVDs, and I don't get what's different about them!
I am sure that there is an answer to this, but am lost... I have about 28,000 songs which are stored on my Windows 7 Enterprise Media Centre PC. All the ID3 tags are correct (I think), but I cant get the music library working properly on the PC or Extender.The problem I have is with my Various Artists albums... the ID3 tags show song title, artist and album artist. on a various artist album the Album Artist field is set to "Various Artists". I am using an Xbox360 media extended in my living room and whilst its slow, thats a seperate issue, there are some unexpected results when searching for songs...If you search for an artist, if they have produced albums where they are the only artist, then they are listed - the ID3 tags on their personal albums have the Album Artist field set as the Artist field and all works. However when listing by Artist, there is an artist listed called "Various Artists" and every song (12,000+) which is on a compilation album is listed as being by "Various Artists" as MC seems to get the artist name from the "Album Artist" field rather than from the "Artist" field.
I thought I'd found a workaround by changing the Album Artist field to be the same as the Artist - indeed this did work, but the unexpected side effect is that when you search by album, because each track on an album shows a different Album Artist set in the ID3 tag, it lists the album seperately for every song... so you may have "Now Thats What I Call Music xx" listed 20 times - once per song!Is there any way to get media centre to catalogue songs using the "Artist" field rather than the "Album Artist" field - but also to take into account that even though songs are by different artists, should the Album Artist all be the same - then to treat as a single album??I have only just started researching this and have read a bit about Media Centre using the catalogue created by WMP - but to be honest I have never used WMP and wouldnt know where to start.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have been trying to play/rip this CD I just got, but I have been having no luck at all. It will start playing the song, and continue playing the whole song, but the rest of the computer crashes so I am forced to restart. I don't get why one program would crash the whole computer like that.
I've also tried to rip the CD, and it would rip about 4 tracks and then the computer would crash and it would stop. Anyone having a similar problem or know how to fix this one? It is an imported Japanese CD by the way, not sure if that matters or not.
I've got full sound in everything else and the latest sound blaster drivers. I insert a DVD and play it in Windows Media Player or Center and I get no Audio (*shakes head).
I play the DVD in VLC and it plays and sounds fine, but the Quality of the DVD video in VLC blows.
What's the fix (and why does there need to be a fix) for Windows Media Player? You'd think Windows Media CENTER could at least play a DVD...
One of my .avi files got the extension twice, not able to play in vlc media player, but it plays smooth in Windows media player. I don't now how it happened, but tried to rename it, still appears the same. When I looked in to the file properties it says the file having extension,(.avi) (.avi).!!! Thought of converting the whole file to some other format, sadly video converting program not able to open as it says unknown format!!!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm running Win 7 x64 with 32bit WMP12. I have FLAC showing with metadata and can play files locally. I have a Naim NDX Media Streamer and can not get FLAC to play through it via WMP - other files will. I understand that this may be connected to x64 not being compatible, so I have the x32 version running via a short cut to my desktop.WMP shows my streamer but when I try to play a file it just constantly looks for the streamer and never finds it. Any ideas where I might be going wrong?
PS: It works perfectly well with JRiver / My River or n Stream via my ipad. That with FLAC or .wav etc. So it appears to be related directly to WMP.
I imagine I don't need to include much information as your nice new tool has everything you need.

I renamed all the songs correctly but when I play them with VLC or WMP the music plays the correct song but the names remain the same. How can I get the names to appear as per the song being played?

I was using a Sony, it broke, I bought an ipod and it wasn't recognized by my computer at all when I plugged it in, but because my phone and camera both work in the USB ports I thought it was the ipod and returned it. Now I've got a Creative Labs Zen and having the same problem. It's brand new, I plugged it in and it says the device driver software failed to install. When i try plugging it again, it doesn't even attempt to install.'ve tried all of the USB ports, updating the drivers, and clearing "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" from the USB root hubs but nothing seems to workThe USB ports work with other devices so I'm guessing it can't be a problem with that. Also, it makes a sounds when i disconnect/connect the player so the computer has got to be recognizing it to some degree somewhere

I recently realized I can play them back on my laptop but the recipients may not be able to hear it on a CD player or car stereo (including mine = 2002 Acura MDX Bose). What do I need to do to be sure 100% of recipients will be able to hear it?
