I have a new Intel DX79T0 + i7-3930K 64 bit CPU machine with 16 Gby mem and an SSD.Certain video applications -several different players and format converters - will kill the entire USB: mouse, keyboard, external drives, hub, everything (both the USB 2 and 3 ports). I am using the latest K-Lite codec package. Has anyone else seen this

It just started one day and even after reinstalling windows 2 days ago, the problem is still there.Whenever I watch a movie any video format including high quality, mkv files my video lags, the picture just freezes, gets choppy, the sound continues to work, but video is freezing and eventually I have no other solution than click pause/play a few times, so the picture and sound gets correct again. I don't know what the problem could be, but every player does it, VLC, KMplayer, RealPlayer, WMP,MPHC. [code]

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to get smooth playback with any videos and it's driving me insane. I've tried WMP, VLC, MPC-HC, and it makes little difference. It doesn't matter if it's 1080p or low res.Every video plays as if it has a a very low frame rate; basically a subtle lag/stuttering that gives me a headache if I look at it for too long. It's not really noticeable until there's quick movement in the video, I've tried many different output settings in these players, and used several different codec packs.

I have problems deleting files and folders which were created for temporary purposes. Usually folders with a temporary picture collection, which I have created just to get it zipped and mailed. Since I use Picasa (which is usually open), there are systems files which are created automatically and stay locked for quite some time, even when all the pictures were erased. Is there any quick and simple way to delete locked files in Windows 7?

I was using a Sony, it broke, I bought an ipod and it wasn't recognized by my computer at all when I plugged it in, but because my phone and camera both work in the USB ports I thought it was the ipod and returned it. Now I've got a Creative Labs Zen and having the same problem. It's brand new, I plugged it in and it says the device driver software failed to install. When i try plugging it again, it doesn't even attempt to install.'ve tried all of the USB ports, updating the drivers, and clearing "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" from the USB root hubs but nothing seems to workThe USB ports work with other devices so I'm guessing it can't be a problem with that. Also, it makes a sounds when i disconnect/connect the player so the computer has got to be recognizing it to some degree somewhere

I recently realized I can play them back on my laptop but the recipients may not be able to hear it on a CD player or car stereo (including mine = 2002 Acura MDX Bose). SSD runs on a flash based chip ... it is very stable but mean time it has huge access point of data that why it is fast. The reason i am thinking that SSD is killing my other drives is because my setup is a Media center. Software such as windows media center and media browser keep accessing my 2 TB Hitachi drive for movies, TV show and so on .. SSD in my opinion is running other drive to max point of spin and read/write in same time. which could caused these drive either over heat or over used that is just a theroy of mine

I found that MC was ideal to work with my TV tuner and making immediate or scheduled recordings is a doddle. The .wtv recording is readily burned to a DVD in Video-TS format using MC and this is playable on my DVD player. There is still the problem of having to fast-forward the run-in and commercials but for a one time review on my TV this is not really a problem.
What is a problem is where you have a particular recording which you want to edit and and then produce a DVD which can be played on any player. I found the basic editing of removing start and end sections and splitting to remove commercials easy using Windows Movie Maker. This edited version can be saved as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file which can be viewed on the computer in Movie Maker but if burned to DVD, cannot be played in a DVD player. It can also be saved as a .mp4 file but this also cannot be read by any DVD players. Media Center does not recognise either of these formats so cannot be used to burn to DVD.
is there a convenient way to both edit the recorded TV and then save it on a DVD in a format which can be played on a regular DVD player? Alternatively, is there a program which can read .wmv and .mp4 and burn to DVD in Videa-TS?
