View 8 Replies View RelatedI own a acer aspire laptop 5100 series which came with Vista pre installed on it.My ex boyfired decided to install Windows 7 Professional on my laptop earlier this year and now I can't seem to get skype working properly like it use to before Win 7. Nobody can hear me and I've configured the the microphone and speakers to how they should be set in order for skype to work but no one can hear although I can hear every one just fine. I have the latest version on skype installed. I was wondering if the issue is because I have windows 7 on here instead of what it originally came with?

View 3 Replies View RelatedToday i installed windows 7 professional 64-bit on my acer 5920g laptop. My problem is that at device manager, the monitor driver is generic pnp monitor and i can't install the right driver for my laptop.
I visited the acer website and i didn't find any monitor driver. Is there anything else i could do?

Acer desktop PC will not boot running on windows 7. This happenned about 2 days after I installed an antivirus program called Avast. However the computer already had installed the microsoft security essentials, the same problem happenned with my computer so I logged in safe mode and uninstalled the antivirus Avast. However when I try to get into safe mode in this desktop computer, the system gets frozen and the last line it shows its the disk.sys driver being loaded. Anything I can do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedDo you remember Windows 95? You could set your desktop resolution bigger than the resolution of your monitor (it could have a 1024x768 desktop with a VGA monitor - 640x480). Now we all have monitors with a resolution of almost 1280x1024 (mine is 1680 x 1050). We have twice as much space in size, but almost five times as number of opened programs. Regardless of many windows programs (like the ones I use, and I think many others), which, of course, engage, are contextual, but reduce the space available for the job.I already throw some programs that allow you to manage more virtual desktop, but they are able to separate programs, not to give you more space.
I already throw some programs (like gimespace) that they simulate the desktop oversize shifting all visible windows into a direction, but if a context switch off a window, I shift the desktop and the context reshow that window, it will appair in the same phisical location. But I like exactly that Windows 7 makes exactly what Win95 did.
I have a strange problem, I run a 9800GTX+ with a dvi to vga adapter to my monitor and a dvi to HDMI adapter to my onkyo TX-SR507 amplifier which in turn has a hdmi to my LCD TV.
I use the amp for sound from the pc down the hdmi lead.
now if my TV is not on (but the amp is) then windows decides to HIDE my desktop on my monitor with wallpaper... i mean no mouse, no taskbar, nothing... but everything is still there BEHIND wallpaper.. EG: if i press email button on keyboard when i put TV on again outlook will be sitting there on my monitor.
turning my amp off also works.
i have tried CLONING displays but still same thing??
had no problem like this on vista - and i have the newest graphics card drivers.
any ideas?
I purchased an Acer refurbished desktop from tiger direct.it keeps freezing up, I need to control, alt, delete to get off the page. Nothing moves until I do.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince yesterday i have a nice new Sony TV, which i connected to my laptop by HDMI. Every time i want to play a game (for example Fifa), the game starts on my laptop and not on my TV. I can only play it on my TV if i clone my laptop and tv. Isn't there an option "start on TV" or something in Windows 7?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Genius GPen 4500 USB graphics tablet (using the built-in Windows 7 driver), and would like to use it on my secondary monitor (which is 4:3, unlike my primary which is 16:9)However, windows seems to have decided that the tablet is integrated into my primary monitor (according to "Tablet PC Settings" in the control panel - it shows "Pen Input Avaliable" for the "1. BENQ E2220HD" item and "No Pen or Touch...." for the "2. SyncMaster" item)Running "Setup" from that window does not work, as the tablet still maps to the primary screen, and can't be used to click on the second screen.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnd to top it off and make it even more impossible I'd like to do it wirelessly. My desktop's hooked up to a TV and I sit about 8ft away from it. I'd like to keep the laptop next to me an monitor the temps while playing games. The only way I can imagine successfully doing this is using remote desktop while using the laptop as a second monitor.I'm using Windows 7 x64.It doesn't seem entirely impossible because I used to do it with my iPad but I sold it.
View 16 Replies View RelatedSo I just got a new gateway dx4860-ub32p tower. The problem I am having is that when trying to use a second monitor for extended desktop the hdmi is not recognized. When I start the computer both monitors have the boot screen and starting windows screen. Past that only my monitor plugged in by vga cable is recognized. When I go to graphics options there is only one screen option shown. I am using windows seven the second monitor is a flat screen tv.

View 6 Replies View RelatedJust updated from Vista 64 to Windows7 64 build7100 .
Using DellWFP 32" monitor and ATI v7200 video card.
My desktop will not extend all the way left to right or top to bottom on my monitor.
It has black bar around desktop extending to edges of monitor.
When I set screen resolution to max 2560x1280 or recommended 1280x800 , then desktop goes full height and width of monitor. However these settings do not work for me at all.
Any other resolution setting and desktop is centered on monitor, very small with black all around it.
Here is image I took with my camera, as a screen shot only displays the desktop. This shows how the desktop is residing within the monitor. I've tried every resolution setting there is for this video card , checked to make sure I had the latest drivers also.
I am using a Sumsung LED TV as my computer monitor but the desk top icons are partially hidden under the TV border. how to adjust to gain the icons are fully visible.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that after turning on the power for the very first time, it will not recognize my keyboard. I have several different keyboards and I tried them all- including the Acer keyboard that came with the PC.I think my mistake was that before turning on the power, I had plugged in both an HDMI connection to my TV as well as a DVI connection to an Acer 23" monitor. Then when I powered up the PC, it defaulted to the HDMI output but I didn't realize that and was expecting it to displa on the monitor. It took me a while to figure out that it defaulted to the HDMI connection. I started out by looking at my monitor and couldn't figure out why there was no activity on the monitor. But once I switched the TV input to "HDMI 1", I saw the output was displayed on my TV.Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to recognize any keyboard now although it does make a "clicking" sound when I press keys on the keyboard. I tried to press WIN+P to change the HDMI output to show the same output on both the TV and the monitor but it seems to default to "side by side" and the only thing that I can think to do now is to pull out the power cord plug and try to re-boot with just the monitor connected and without the HDMI connection. When I hit the "power off" button, it has no effect. Should I pull out the power cord from the outlet? Or is there some other way to get it to reboot?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire AX3400 desktop running Windows 7 64bit. I have been having all sorts of problems over several months. The machine, when left unattended, appears to be always "recovering from serious error" with subsequent memory dumps. The machine would not shut down without me having to switch it off. Subsequently the machine would not start up properly. iTunes would not open without a reboot etc etc etc.I decided to backup all my data and restore to factory settings. This has failed/ is incomplete. It hung for several hours at different stages of the process. I keep getting the message "Setting up PC for first use" and does not move on from there
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just accidentally changed my settings on my grapics card so that I can no longer see my desktop on the monitor connected to my HTPC. My HTPC has a monitor attached to it and it also has an HDMI out from the graphics card going to an LED TV in another room. I accidentally switched it so that the desktop can only be seen on the other TV in the other room.
All I can see on the monitor is the blank Windows 7 logo (no desktop icons) and I cannot navigate back to my AMD control page to undo this. I tried rebooting but this does not work. This is an issue as I don't have a bluetooth keyboard/mouse that I can use in the other room to control the desktop. How do I reset this? I am using a AMD HD 6750 graphics card.
Yesterday i bought new grafic card geforce GT440 after my old 9800 GT stoped functioning normaly(memory failure). So here is the problem, when I start any program or do anything the computer the computer is functioning normally, but when I turn to desktop(which has black wallpaper) the monitor goes so dark that I can't see almost nothing. I tryed to find some power saving options in windows(win 7 pro, 64 bit) and on envidia control panel but i cannot find any cause for that dark screen. Even if I load a black page on my mozilla the monitor goes dark. As it cannot represent dark colors normally.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running a dual monitor setup with my TV hooked up via HDMI to my laptop.
Everything was working fine before, I always had the laptop as my main display yet I could play a video or a game fullscreen on the TV.
Since a couple of days, as soon as I put something in fullscreen, it immediately goes on my laptop, regardless if it's open on my TV or my laptop. I don't remember changing/installing anything that could've changed that...
I checked a bit in the AMD vision software and the Windows control pannel but I can't seem to solve my problem without switching my TV as the main display. I also made a quick search on google as well as here but the problems were mainly with Flash, which isn't in cause here.
Here are my system specs:
Toshiba Satellite L75D
Windows 7 home premium 64-bit
AMD Radeon 6520G
