View 8 Replies View RelatedCtrl-Space is one of the most frequently used keys in Word 2003 as it changes back from for example bold or italic to normal character formatting. However, Vista has somehow claimed this key for other purposes and even after a lot of searching I haven't found a way to reclaim it. Is this at all possible?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried doing the same as in 'Word has stopped working' and it did not work for me. I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I have Office 2007 (licensed). For a few months Word was working fine and one not-so-fine-day it decided to work errantly. It opens up fine but
- the scroll up and down button stopped working, (also the scroll-bar)
- does not open a word file if the file icon is clicked,
- when I click the Office-button and then 'Word-Options' the options like 'Trust Center' etc do not work. These do not even get the focus when mouse moves over it
- When I close word. It consistently pops up 'Word has stopped working' I guess this has something to do with user-interface icons, buttons etc. I have installed, re-installed Word and also all HP drivers..
I have a problem finding Word 2007 files from the Search field in Windows Explorer. Example: I have a file named "test.docx" in "My Documents", and I can see that file right in the Windows Explorer window. However, if I type, say ".docx", or "test", in the Search field in the top right-hand corner of Explorer, the search comes up empty. I can, however, get the search function to find the file if I: use the Search item on the Start Menu use the "Advanced Search" options in Windows Explorer, and have it search all indexed locations use the "Advanced Search" options in Windows Explorer, and have it search in non-indexed locations, hidden and system files
This problem only seems to exist with .docx files, so this may actually be an issue of the Office 2007 indexer rather than Vista. It looks like the Word indexer does not properly store the location information of the file. Oh, and the problem I have may or may not be related to the fact that on my system I have (of course) relocated the My Documents folder to a separate partition. Are others seeing this, too? Is there a fix for this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have searched numerous threads and google/yahoo searches for my continuing issues with MS Word 2007 Spell Checker. Spell Checker no longer identifies spelling errors yet grammar correction remains. I have tried registry tweaks and carefully examining the proofing options within Word 2007. I do not have a previous version for a custom install so that is not an option. Spell Check functions fine in ppt and xls but not in Word anymore. If a Word fix is not available are there any free spell checkers that will function inside a word document?

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvidently there are many others who have the same problem since the forums have a lot of people writing to find a solution to this When opening Microsoft Word 2007 a Configuration window would pop up and it would take 40 to 90 seconds for the program to come up. It was worse then some of the Adobe programs.. I'm operating a Vista Ultimate 64x operating system and thought that might be the problem. Evidently it doesn't have anything to do with it. I have been trying for weeks to find the solution to the delay but have been unsuccessful. I checked the many sites Google brought up, checked out several forums and went through all the Microsoft Newsgroups to no avail. I finally found the solution. This is from http://uksbsguy.com/ The full URL is at the bottom of the message. I followed his instructions and IT WORKS!!!! He is evidently a Microsoft employee. I have been asked this many times following up on the blog entry Installing Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same system where once people have removed the problem with the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) appearing every time they start Office they then get the dialogs below every time they switch between Word 2007 and Word 2003. when starting Word 2003 when starting Word 2007 The fix to the problem is very simple as it turns out - simply run the following commands (by pressing the Windows Key+R or typing it into the Start/Run command box. Use the line with Office11.0 if you have Office 2003 installed and Office12.0 if you have Office 2007 installed. You can use both if you have both installed : reg add HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0WordOptions /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1.......

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been using Microsoft Outlook 2007 for about two weeks everything was working fine. I have not change the way I used this program. I have used Microsoft Outlook 2002 for a few years so I had no real problems until recently. I save many of the e-mails I receive in either text or HTML format with no problem. When I save an e-mail now in
either text or HTML now, a folder is automatically created with the same name I have created the e-mail I have created. The e-mail which I save is not saved in the folder which automatically appears. What is in the folder are three files: colorschememapping, filelist, and themedata. If after I save the file then go back and delete the folder with the same name as the file, both the folder and the e-mail which I saved are
deleted. I do not know what is going on. Now my computer is getting filled up with e-mail messages I want to keep and folders that I really do not want. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I am aboutready to pull my hair out.

Microsoft office 2003 problem. When starting microsoft word on vista ulitmate, there seems to be a problem. This will automatically shut down, saying there was a problem and is shutting down. The other programs seem fine, Excel, powerpoint, etc. I havent a clue what this could be, has anyone else had this problem.
In the top right corner of microsoft word it will say "Finalizing Installation" and then after you type a couple of sentences it will shut down on its own. This is for a friend of mine, who had microsoft office put on when she bought the laptop of a friend, though she does not have the disk. so i wondered if this is an installation problem. Would this be some sort of copy of microsoft office 2003, that was put on for her She has only found this out now as her son needs to use word for school ( vista ultimate, 64 bit, sp2)
Can you use MicroSoft Office Standard 2007 32 bit on Vista 64 bit computer? From what I've read it says yes, but I'd like to verify that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs you can see from my profile I have Vista Ultimate x64 but I can't install Virtual PC 2007. Basically I downloaded the installer (making sure it was the x64 version), ran it and it all went fine until suddenly the installation just rolled back and said that no modifications were made to the system. It doesn't give me an error message. I searched on the Internet but I can't seem to find the solution. And yes, I tried both the normal installer and the SP1 version.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just recently purchased a new laptop and it finally arrived today. I have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 (I still have enough liscenses left for this laptop) which I was trying to install. I try to run setup and it attempts to load and then automatically closes and displays the following message:"Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator."
I am the administrator on this computer. When I try to launch setup on my other laptop that runs 32bit it works just fine. Before I bought the new laptop I checked to see if my software would work on 64bit and the internet said it would. Am I doing anything wrong?
I'm in Computer Science (IT) so I have an entire course on how to use Microsoft Project 2007. They make us buy a little how-to book. I'm following that book as an homework. So here is the problem. From the Resource Sheet, I choose a resource. Then, I go to Tools -> Change Working Time. I then click on the tab "Work Week". Then, I create a new exception for the resource. Then, in the boxes next to it, in the drop boxes, there's calendar to set when it begins and where it ends, right? Each time that I want to set the end day, Microsoft Project 2007 crashes automatically. It happens sometimes on the start day too.

I suppose I could uninstall VirtualPC since I have not been using it lately.
I should mention that it does not show up in the Control Panel | Progarams and Features Installed Updates list, though.
One other thing: VirtualPC is not supposed to work on Vista, but it does. In fact my son does development using it daily.
while back I had a Windows XP PC but it got dumb and crashed. So I just got my new Tower Which is Windows Vista-x64(Home Premium.) On my old machine I had a game I new and loved called Rayman 2 that isn't compatible to Vista. So my only option was to install it under Microsoft VPC 2007. It did Install but It wouldn't play. Here is the issue: I go To play the game and an error pops up that said I need to install DirectX 6.0 so I did. It didnt matter tho cuz I still had the error. So then I realized the error as telling me to configure the Graphics so It had another error when I Opened The "GXSetup."
Which was this: error1.jpg It Didn't Really matter because it still let me open the exe. But HERE IS WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM STARTED. The program successfully opened! But This is what it contained: MajorError.jpg My only thought was what the f*ck I am going to scream. Because from what it looks like Virtual PC Wasn't Detecting Much or anything at all to do with Graphics (the dropdown arrows contain absolutely nothing).
I don’t know if I’m in the correct area or not. If not, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have Vista 32 Home Premium operating system. I have Microsoft Office 2007.
