Calibri Body as the default font in word is really boring. i prefer arial black, or bauhaus 93. when i create a text box, i have to keep changing the font to my choice, which wastes time when i am doing my homework!
When I edit Word Documents I get something that looks weird with all sorts of strange characters in the document or letter. How do I edit a previously created Word file and get it to look like a normal document like they did with Word 2003?
Evidently there are many others who have the same problem since the forums have a lot of people writing to find a solution to this When opening Microsoft Word 2007 a Configuration window would pop up and it would take 40 to 90 seconds for the program to come up. It was worse then some of the Adobe programs.. I'm operating a Vista Ultimate 64x operating system and thought that might be the problem. Evidently it doesn't have anything to do with it. I have been trying for weeks to find the solution to the delay but have been unsuccessful. I checked the many sites Google brought up, checked out several forums and went through all the Microsoft Newsgroups to no avail. I finally found the solution. This is from http://uksbsguy.com/ The full URL is at the bottom of the message. I followed his instructions and IT WORKS!!!! He is evidently a Microsoft employee. This is his solution....How to get rid of the installer / configuration dialog when running Office 2007 and Office 2003 on the same system - for Vista and other versions of Windows
I have been asked this many times following up on the blog entry Installing Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same system where once people have removed the problem with the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) appearing every time they start Office they then get the dialogs below every time they switch between Word 2007 and Word 2003. when starting Word 2003 when starting Word 2007 The fix to the problem is very simple as it turns out - simply run the following commands (by pressing the Windows Key+R or typing it into the Start/Run command box. Use the line with Office11.0 if you have Office 2003 installed and Office12.0 if you have Office 2007 installed. You can use both if you have both installed : reg add HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0WordOptions /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1.......
I use Vista and want to know how to open a file that was originally in Word 97? 2003 to open in Vista Word 2007 and how to convert that file to the Word 2007 format. When I searched Microsoft on this issue, it said to click on Start and look for the word convert. When I did that I could not find the work convert.
Originally, I had Office 2003 installed in my computer, & a trial version of 2007 that had already expired.
Today I installed a full version of Microsoft Office 2007, without removing any of the other two versions from my computer. I realized that it seemed to automatically remove the older version. I`m not bother about it not being there, as I got the new version, but I wonder if this is an automatic uninstalling that Office does, or if the version is still there but I can`t see it, as I would like to remove it properly if it`s still somewhere in my computer.
I checked in Control Panel & the only thing I can see is "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007", the full version I just installed, & everything that come with it. No 2003 anywhere.
I know you can do this document-by-document by opening each document individually and clicking "Upgrade" or whatever, but is there a way to convert all your Office documents at once?
when you write a new message in Windows Mail - by default it starts with Arial fonts. Can you change this default to your own particular liking and save it, so when you start a new message,it starts with your choice automatically?
I hope this is the right place to post this question.. Well, basically i installed almost 5000 fonts couple days back. But now, photoshop just crashes whenever i'm trying to add text. I suspect it's got to do with the massive amount of fonts i installed. So here's my Q.. Is there anywhere i could download Vista's default fonts? All of them.. I'm not going through the whole font folder to try and make out which ones are default and which ones are added by me. It's going to take forever to do that.. So if i'm able to download the default fonts, i'll just do a mass delete of all fonts and install the defaults.. So anybody could assist me with that....
Word 2007 temporarily freezes to the point that I cannot use it when I do certain things like click on text box and have to wait for the list of templates to be shown. I have to open task manager which makes the list go away, but the next time I click on text box it works normally. This happens on other things where theres similar pretty list of things.
What am I mistakenly activating in Word 2007 that causes a small superscripted zero to appear to the left of some punctuation marks - colons, question marks, quotes etc. It's extremely perplexing and irritating to have to keep getting rid of them. (And what purpose do they serve anyway??? Why would anyone WANT them?)
Ever since a recent autorecovery, my Word 2007 now hangs on startup, although it works fine on another user profile on the same computer. I've tried copying a different Normal template (from the profile of a different user) but that hasn't helped. I'm reluctant to totally remove and reinstall because of macros and add-
I tried doing the same as in 'Word has stopped working' and it did not work for me. I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I have Office 2007 (licensed). For a few months Word was working fine and one not-so-fine-day it decided to work errantly. It opens up fine but
- the scroll up and down button stopped working, (also the scroll-bar) - does not open a word file if the file icon is clicked, - when I click the Office-button and then 'Word-Options' the options like 'Trust Center' etc do not work. These do not even get the focus when mouse moves over it - When I close word. It consistently pops up 'Word has stopped working' I guess this has something to do with user-interface icons, buttons etc. I have installed, re-installed Word and also all HP drivers..
I have a problem finding Word 2007 files from the Search field in Windows Explorer. Example: I have a file named "test.docx" in "My Documents", and I can see that file right in the Windows Explorer window. However, if I type, say ".docx", or "test", in the Search field in the top right-hand corner of Explorer, the search comes up empty. I can, however, get the search function to find the file if I: use the Search item on the Start Menu use the "Advanced Search" options in Windows Explorer, and have it search all indexed locations use the "Advanced Search" options in Windows Explorer, and have it search in non-indexed locations, hidden and system files
This problem only seems to exist with .docx files, so this may actually be an issue of the Office 2007 indexer rather than Vista. It looks like the Word indexer does not properly store the location information of the file. Oh, and the problem I have may or may not be related to the fact that on my system I have (of course) relocated the My Documents folder to a separate partition. Are others seeing this, too? Is there a fix for this?
Vista 64 home premium, office 2007 home and students -have word doc open, scroll to send to -and email button is greyed out? I am using windows mail and its set as default e-mail program
I have searched numerous threads and google/yahoo searches for my continuing issues with MS Word 2007 Spell Checker. Spell Checker no longer identifies spelling errors yet grammar correction remains. I have tried registry tweaks and carefully examining the proofing options within Word 2007. I do not have a previous version for a custom install so that is not an option. Spell Check functions fine in ppt and xls but not in Word anymore. If a Word fix is not available are there any free spell checkers that will function inside a word document?
I just replaced my 10-year-old PC and am trying to install Office Home and Student 2007 on my new Vista 64 machine. Unfortunately, whether I use the autorun or manually double-click setup.exe on the disc, nothing happens. I get an hourglass briefly, the disc spins in the drive, and setup.exe appears in the task manager for about three seconds then disappears. Nothing else happens.
I've downloaded every available update from Microsoft. I'm logged in as an administrator, I've tried to right-click on setup.exe and select run as admin from there, I've tried changing compatibility mode to XP SP2, and nothing seems to work.
I've been searching online for awhile now and can't find anything with regard to this issue. Has anyone seen this before? Or, can anyone give me some suggestions? I didn't anticipate any problems because I read in many places that Office 2007 runs fine on Vista 64, so I uninstalled Works and the free 60-day Office trial from my new PC before I tried to install the full version of Office to avoid conflicts. Unfortunately, I don't have access to Word or Excel now, and it's going to be a problem.
I'm wondering if vLite can be used in the same way in this tutorial to slipstream SP1 & SP2 into Office Home and Student 2007 and create an installation disk.
Could I follow the tutorial doing the exact same steps to accomplish this?
I just bought a new PC ACER M5711 that comes with preloaded Trial version of above. I wanted to install Office 2003 Student and Home Version which I bought previously, but I am not able to uninstall Office 2007. I tried using the Uninstall from Control Panel, but nothing seems to happen.
With all the hoopla about SP2 for Vista, I guess no one noticed that Microsoft has released SP2 for Microsoft Office 2007 through Windows Update… Haven't had a chance to install yet as I'm in the niddle of working on some office apps at the moment, so..
I have a new HP laptop that came with windows vista home premium, and I cannot get it to print any office XP word documents or PDF files. What is really odd is that it registers the printer, shows the ink available in each cartridge, and the printer will print my emails from comcast. I loaded the newest drivers, updated everything. I am stumped. Microsoft Vista will not print microsoft word documents.
Every time I open Word the default printer has "disappeared". I get an error message saying the printer has not responded and asking whether I want to wait. This makes printing very, very difficult. Does anyone have a solution. I am using Vista Home edition, Office 2003 and the printer is an Epson D78. I have installed the new driver for the D78 and Vista. I have uninstalled and re-installed Word and the printer, but all to no avail
When I try to change word as the default problem my computer won't let me. It has recommended programs: adobe reader, wordpad, works etc but no word. So I browse find word, click on it and it goes back to the previous place but word still not there. Same thing happens when i go into the set associations section.
this is the first time i am using windows mail. in all earlier versions like outlook / express etc, i know this option where you can use word as default editor for composing all new mail messages. this ensures that we can format / allign / bullet etc just like in word. However, this windows mail thing is not showing me this option of using word as default editor for composing all new messages / replies.
I was able to send an email message from Word 2000 to Outlook Express 6.0 in HTML format. I cannot do that with Word 2007 and Windows Mail. Is there something I can change to get Word 2007 and Windows Mail to send HTML mail merges?
The Office 2007 icon on my start menu inexplicably became nonfunctional this week. I'm running Vista Home Premium x32. I tried uninstalling Office 2007, but I get the message: "Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator." If I try to reinstall using the original disc, I get the message: "Setup has stopped working." I've tried to follow the instructions at 'How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature' (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us) for uninstalling without using the add/remove program, but I am unable to go to any "choose details" menu on the view tab ... it doesn't exist, so I can't continue the instructions from there. I don't have a second drive to try installing the disc from there. The disc is brand-new, not dirty or damaged. I've defragged the computer.
Have to Remove Student Home Office 2007 Trial(non-commercial)first. Cannot remove through programs, Ccleaner or Revo Uninstaller. Somehow it mysteriously just went from "Trial" to "non commercial Trial"? I also had trouble when I originally installed the triall, they turned it off after a week, til I emailed them and they sent me a link. Probably Reman issue again, they probably thought I already had my trial period.
Getting same 1402 error as many others here...since I cannot uninstall through Programs...going by "Article ID: 928218"....tried 4 times. I should point out this is a reman computer and I did have Office 2000 on here before, before trying out the trial. May be some remnants left over. So there may also be possible remnants of Office 2000. Can I run the Installer Cleanup Utility(290301)after removing Office 2007, or will that mess up other programs? I'd rather not use it. What a mess....I know!................
