I was able to send an email message from Word 2000 to Outlook Express 6.0 in HTML format. I cannot do that with Word 2007 and Windows Mail. Is there something I can change to get Word 2007 and Windows Mail to send HTML mail merges?

I have checked with my ISP (Astound) and they have been unable to solve the problem. As a result, I have been using Astound Webmail which is less convenient. Subject ..., Account: 'verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. Downloading incoming mail is not a problem, and I obviously can post to newsgroups. Although this is a new problem, I turned off Norton's checking of outgoing mail - no change. Verizon had us change to Port 587 last year so that's not the issue either. WM does send e-mail from my desktop so apparently the problem is specific to the laptop.

I have to open task manager which makes the list go away, but the next time I click on text box it works normally. This happens on other things where theres similar pretty list of things.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI tried doing the same as in 'Word has stopped working' and it did not work for me. I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I have Office 2007 (licensed). For a few months Word was working fine and one not-so-fine-day it decided to work errantly. It opens up fine but
- the scroll up and down button stopped working, (also the scroll-bar)
- does not open a word file if the file icon is clicked,
- when I click the Office-button and then 'Word-Options' the options like 'Trust Center' etc do not work. These do not even get the focus when mouse moves over it
- When I close word. It consistently pops up 'Word has stopped working' I guess this has something to do with user-interface icons, buttons etc. I have installed, re-installed Word and also all HP drivers..
I have a problem finding Word 2007 files from the Search field in Windows Explorer. Example: I have a file named "test.docx" in "My Documents", and I can see that file right in the Windows Explorer window. However, if I type, say ".docx", or "test", in the Search field in the top right-hand corner of Explorer, the search comes up empty. I can,however, get the search function to find the file if I: use the Search item on the Start Menu use the "Advanced Search" options in Windows Explorer, and have it search all indexed locations use the "Advanced Search" options in Windows Explorer, and have it search in non-indexed locations, hidden and system files
This problem only seems to exist with .docx files, so this may actually be an issue of the Office 2007 indexer rather than Vista. It looks like the Word indexer does not properly store the location information of the file. Oh, and the problem I have may or may not be related to the fact that on my system I have (of course) relocated the My Documents folder to a separate partition. Are others seeing this, too? Is there a fix for this?

Spell Checker no longer identifies spelling errors yet grammar correction remains. I have tried registry tweaks and carefully examining the proofing options within Word 2007. I do not have a previous version for a custom install so that is not an option. Spell Check functions fine in ppt and xls but not in Word anymore. If a Word fix is not available are there any free spell checkers that will function inside a word document?

I have been asked this many times following up on the blog entry Installing Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same system where once people have removed the problem with the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) appearing every time they start Office they then get the dialogs below every time they switch between Word 2007 and Word 2003. when starting Word 2003 when starting Word 2007 The fix to the problem is very simple as it turns out - simply run the following commands (by pressing the Windows Key+R or typing it into the Start/Run command box. Use the line with Office11.0 if you have Office 2003 installed and Office12.0 if you have Office 2007 installed. I would prefer to not have to move to a later version of Word as with all Microsoft products MS seems intent on taking things that were simple and making them aggrivatingly complicated and annoying. My kingdom for a 'Don't Think For Me' button.
1) Is there a way to be able to email (not as an attachment) from Word 2000 in my environment (using Windows Live Mail).

I have 5 group contacts but can only send a message to three of them! The error message is "must have e-mail address to send", of course there is an e-mail address for each member of the group. size is not the issue, one group that "won't send has 5 members the other has 60.

These pertain to Windows Mail and MSOffice running with Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit. 1) When I receive an email message in Windows Mail with an Office document attached and I double-click the attachment, the appropriate program (Word, Excel, whatever) will open, and then I get an error message that Office cannot find the document I am trying to open. If I go back to the email and double-click on it a second time, it will open normally. How do I get it to open the first time?
2) When I compose a message in Windows Mail and attempt to attach an open MSOffice document that I have saved, Windows Mail will not send the attachment with the message. If I close the document, it will attach and I can send it. For example, I write a document, I save it to my documents folder, I compose a Windows Mail message and attempt to attach the document from the documents folder. It appears to have attached but when I hit "send" I get an error message that says the attachment cannot be sent with the message (and if I continue and send it, the attachment doesn't go). If I close the document in MSOffice and attempt again to attach the saved document from the documents folder it works fine.
I am running vista home and when i got my new laptop there was a trial version of office which has now expired, i have many docs saved in this format. I have today installed home and student 2007 but cannot do very much with any of my current docs - i have had an error message that says there is a conflict
