Up until today I have been able to cut and paste from Works word processor to Windows Mail. Now when I try to do this I get the message -"Windows Mail has stopped working" or "Last time you ran Windows Mail it did not exit correctly." This cut and paste function has always worked until now. How can I fix the problem?
View 9 RepliesAfter reading multiple articles on various site regarding how the processor power management works in Vista, I have yet to find a resolution to my current situation. I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit on my HP Pavilion tx 2110 with an AMD X2 Mobile Tech TL-62 2.1Ghz and 3gb of RAM. Whenever my laptop is unplugged from the wall and running on the battery, Vista seems to limit the processor frequency to 38% of the max (roughly 800mhz) no mater the power plan or processor load. While the computer is plugged in however, everything runs beautifully with the frequency at 100%.

I've just done a system restore to before I downloaded Windows Live Mail and "hey presto" I can cut and paste into emails again. Perhaps it's unwise to download Live Mail - at least till they sort the program out!

I can copy and paste from another email in the program, but if I try to from a text doc or Word doc etc. the email program shuts down and I lose everything that was in the particular email I was writing.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have upgraded to Vista Ultimate. You have to run Windows Mail (WM) on Vista - you cant run Outlook Express (OE). With OE you could "cut" an image out of MS Word and paste it into the body of the message. You cant do that in WM and its a massive drawback. Does anyone have a solution to this? I have read the threads on "upgrading" to Windows Live Mail but is that just the latest version of WM or something else? Also, it appears that there are lots of crashes when people have done that.

View 9 Replies View Relatedhow I can get a .wps file (MS Works) to open directly in Windows Mail? I have the file association configured and everything works perfectly if I first save the attachment to a folder then double-click it, but it is annoying to have to do this.
A friend had the same problem with .pps files (Power Point) which would not open directly in Windows Mail even though she had the Power Point Viewer installed and a proper file association. There was a a registry edit on the Microsoft site that fixed that nicely and I am hoping that someone knows of something similar for .wps files.
I want to know if I install Windows 7 RC then do Windows Mail works fine on that operating system? Also do I have to download and install Windows mail manually or it is included?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running Vista Ultimate, Windows Live Mail and Word 2000. I can not email a displayed document directly from Word. The email icon is greyed out. I would prefer to not have to move to a later version of Word as with all Microsoft products MS seems intent on taking things that were simple and making them aggrivatingly complicated and annoying. My kingdom for a 'Don't Think For Me' button.
1) Is there a way to be able to email (not as an attachment) from Word 2000 in my environment (using Windows Live Mail).
2) Which versions of Word can you email from using Windows Live Mail? For example, if I upgrade to Word 2007 can I then email? Or from Wird 2008?
I really need this feature as it is a backbone of our internal documentation and reporting system.... I will suffer a Word upgrade if I have to, but just want to make sure it will work before I take the plunge.
I recently installed Office Home & Student on a new machine with Vista and found that I can no longer copy an Excel chart and past it in the message space in Mail. I could do this with no problem using Office 2002 - XP and Vista. Is the problem with Vista or with Office 2007? I have already changed the registry to allow direct e-mail from Word and Excel to Mail (by-passing the requirement to have Outlook), but this doesn't seem to be related to that silly feature.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWindows Explorer had been working fine but now it won't (1) resize to full screen, (2) paste any file anywhere or allow me to drag and drop files. This latter one also won't work on my desktop. What gives? Can I uninstall Windows Explorer and reinstall? Will the 'recovery disks' that came with the computer allow this to happen?
Also, I have a file I want to inspect, a CBS.log file, and it says I need the administrator permission to do this. How do I obtain this. I'm no dummy when it comes to computers but I cannot figure this one out on Vista.

I have two symptoms of the worm - Windows Update no longer works (when I load it goes to a blank windows explorer screen, which I have force quit through Task Manager), and Windows Defender no longer works. I have used multiple Conficker removal tools (BD, F Smart, MS Removal) and none of these have found anything wrong. Any ideas if this is Conficker adapting or if its something else?

View 9 Replies View Relatedi installed new Intel E6750 processor and now i'm getting bluescreen.. sometimes at startup and sometimes after using computer for few minutes and it's never the same reason.. memorycheck says that i have some kinda hardware problem but my motherboard should support new processor. i have Vista 32-bit, Asus Commando motherboard, 4 x Kingston KHX6400D2LLK2/2GN ddr2 (total 4 GB), XFX GeForce 7800 GTX. with my previous processor Pentium D 3.00 GHz everything is fine, Vista runs bit slow sometimes but that's normal.

What does 32 bit Vista do on a 64 bit processor? Does is use both cores in 32 bit mode or does it only use half the processor? If it uses both core, at the same time? or one then the other.
