Host Process For Windows Services Stopped Working
Dec 24, 20082 weeks ago I've installed fresh new copy of Vista x64 ultimate sp1 and downloaded all critical updates. From time to time I got BSODs randomly + windows continues to spam me with message error message "Host Process for Windows Services stopped working and was closed" - in event log it appeares as
"Faulting application svchost.exe_iphlpsvc, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47919291, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791adec, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x00000000000a6e97, process id 0xde8, application start time 0x01c965d5d7c709ab."
After getting this message my window appearance changes for aero to half-aero-half-classic style and language icon diappeares from taskbar (and hotkey alt+shift stoppes wirking too - can't swich from default language ). I've tried to chnage language bar settings from Control Panel (Floating/Docked/Hidden) does nothing. Only restart brings things to normal, but after unpredictable period of time it happens again.

Jun 18, 2008Like tons of other people, I've been getting lots of those "Host services have stopped working. You will be notified if a solution is found" messages. You are forced to close the box....no other option is available. The result of this is that my internet connection slows to a crawl. I post the actual error log in the forum of the program that crashed. Apparently the problem is with "Windows Management Instrumentation"....and I have no idea where a forum for that resides. So I'm hoping a solution can be found here. Here is the log that gets generated.

Mar 19, 2008I want it to run Windows Vista 32-Bit Edition. I had Linux Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, now I erased the linux partition and format the disk with a utility called Dban. I had to make a bootable CD in order to format it. When the disk was in blank I inserted the Windows Vista DVD and the screen said "Windows is loading files" then the progress bar of Windows Vista appears however it stops. I waited there 1 hour, but nothing happened so i thought it was because I didn't format it to NTFS. Then I used GParted to format it to NTFS. I tried again, however it gave me the same results.

May 27, 2008I have been using Windows mail fine for months, but starting yesterday it is not letting any outgoing message go out. I at first thought it was just a Comcast issue, but the other account i have with a totally seperate provider is not sending either. Here are the error messages:

Cut And Paste Into IE Stoped Working
Dec 15, 2009I found an old thread from June 2009 that describes the issue I am having entitled Cut and Paste to Internet causes Error The person states the exact issue (see below) I have now and the only suggestion to this thread did not help me-- the issue is still there "trying to cut text from a MS Works Word Proccessor and paste it to a message board on the internet. When I right click to past, I get a message "Internet Explorer has Stopped Working and Must Restart" at which point my browser shuts and reopens" Does anyone know how to fix this?

The error message is: Windows could not start the Windows Event Log Service on Local Computer. Error 1079: The account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process. The Network connection the Internet does not start at boot time. Instead I have to click Diagnose & Repair and then click Restart the DHCP client service. Then it works.................

Control Panel Did Not Work, Windows Services
Jul 29, 2009Ive been running my Vista hiccup free for about a year when all of the sudden a bunch of errors started appearing. In order to get to my login screen after boot took 45 minutes for some reason and was a pain I dealt with. Now I have a bigger problem
-The control panel did not work and whenever vista loaded a ton of errors arose.
-This came from windows services not being able to start and this therefore did not allow windows to check if it was genuine.
-After a week, windows went into limited mode where I only have a blackscreen and access to the internet, nothing else. Microsoft support gave me no help and the problem cannot be fixed without re-installing Vista. No problem i thought.
-Popped in the original vista dvd and changed the bios to boot from CD. This is where the problem lies.
-When I do this, it does nothing with the dvd, I wait 45 minutes until my login screen appears and I am back into limited mode. I want to re-install vista but cannot boot from cd/ dvd.

Mar 23, 2008I have just recently bought my laptop with Vista Home Premium on it. The problem occurred after I transferred all files over and tried to play my Corrinne Baley Ray audio cd. The page came up saying I needed to download a license and to press the button. After doing this I get a message saying that "my netscape browser does not have windows media services plugins installed. And thats as far as I can go.

Cannot Connect To Windows Live Services, WLM: Error 81000306
Jun 22, 2008One day i tried logging in using windows live messenger and got an error 81000306. I've tried disabling autotuning as prescribed by some websites but it has not worked. Tried resetting winsock, forwarding ports for the .net messenger, repaired Windows live messenger, and still no go. I ran the windows live messenger tests and they all passed, so it's weird that i cannot connect.
I've also noticed that when logging on to sites that use the windows Live ID, the pages will not load. Status indicated on the browser is that it says " Connected to logon.live.com " but dOes nothing else. no webpage is loaded and it does this until the connection times out. This happens when signing in to bungie.net or xbox.com as well. I also have my xbox 360 connected to the same modem (without a router, i just take the ethernet cord and plug it to whichever i wanna use), and it can connec to Windows messenger on the dashboard ok.
Have restarted and restarted, have power cycled the modem, even reseated my D-Link ethernet pci card. I have not made any large changes, other than i am using Open DNS, and it's updater since my ISP has dynamic IP, and i have turned off UAC. I've done every troubleshooting step i can think of (I worked for tech support for a computer manufacturer, so i've pretty much used up everything that training has given me and my 2 years experience in that field). All other messenger programs work. Tried using pidgin, with the same result, i can connect with all other IMs except windows live.

Feb 6, 2009I've just installed Windows Vista (32bit) Ultimate on a second machine in my home network, and the content for on-line services is very different on them both. The regional settings for both of these machines are the same (Netherlands), but the content is very different. How can I add/change the on-line regional content for media center? I've already looked into adding .mcl files into the AppData directory, but this isn't the solution that I'm looking for.

Oct 21, 2008I bought a new HP laptop last Wednesday. My girlfriend has used it to write a paper for school and that is about it. Its been connected to the internet maybe 4 times. I turned it on at work and noticed it looks like the old Windows, before XP and my trash can is gone. When I go and try to change the Appearance settings it says "Windows host process(Rund1132) has stopped working..." Anyone know what the problem could be? I restored the PC to the first time I started it and it did not change a thing.

Mar 23, 2008i installed new Intel E6750 processor and now i'm getting bluescreen.. sometimes at startup and sometimes after using computer for few minutes and it's never the same reason.. memorycheck says that i have some kinda hardware problem but my motherboard should support new processor. i have Vista 32-bit, Asus Commando motherboard, 4 x Kingston KHX6400D2LLK2/2GN ddr2 (total 4 GB), XFX GeForce 7800 GTX. with my previous processor Pentium D 3.00 GHz everything is fine, Vista runs bit slow sometimes but that's normal.
