When I right click to past, I get a message "Internet Explorer has Stopped Working and Must Restart" at which point my browser shuts and reopens" Does anyone know how to fix this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI want it to run Windows Vista 32-Bit Edition. I had Linux Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, now I erased the linux partition and format the disk with a utility called Dban. I had to make a bootable CD in order to format it. When the disk was in blank I inserted the Windows Vista DVD and the screen said "Windows is loading files" then the progress bar of Windows Vista appears however it stops. I waited there 1 hour, but nothing happened so i thought it was because I didn't format it to NTFS. Then I used GParted to format it to NTFS. I tried again, however it gave me the same results.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am hating Vista right now...I bought a computer from Frys and I brougt it home and it connected to the internet just fine. Sometime later it decided to lose sight of the network altogether. I have vista 32bit. My video card is an nVidia nForce Networking Controller. The driver currently on there is nvm60x32.sys. After doing some google searching I have found that I am not the only idiot who decided to try vista out and is having the same problem.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI used to have a Network Icon in the RH Tray, with a blue mark to show the Internet connection was up and running. All of a sudden it showed a red cross, yet the internet connection was still OK. Yesterday the icon disappeared altogether and I can't see how to get it back! It is not one of the hidden icons.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI subscribe to a stationery group within my Vista windows mail. Often they have in their newsgroup post a "message ticker" that runs a message across the status bar like "have a great day". Windows Mail's 'status bar' only displays how many messages I have, how many messages are unread and how many messages not downloaded. How do I get my status bar to display the poster's message ticker when I open their stationery post that is using a message ticker?

View 4 Replies View RelatedAre you a user of Windows Vista Enterprise or Business edition and would like to know the status of activation of a specific computer? Want to make sure that the computer connected properly to the Key Management Server (KMS) or used your Multiple Activation Key (MAK) properly? Or are you a home user and just want to make sure your computer is fully activated?
Included in Windows Vista is very useful utility that will help you check the status of activation of your computer:
Click on the Start Button and key in CMD and hit Enter to start up Command Prompt....
Is there a way to perform an analysis of the fragmentation level of a drive in Vista Home Premium? I miss being able to see a graphic representation of a disk's fragmentation. Also, previous versions of Windows provided the user a progress bar than informed them of the status of the defrag program when it was running. It appears that Home Premium runs in the background and one never gets a "defragmentation complete" dialog box with options to see a report. I've tried running it manually and not closing the Run dialog box, but it seems to run for hours without any feedback to the user.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn my Acer lapto, vista battery status shows it is 100% charged, but only 30 minutes working time remains. The working mode has been set to 'balanced', but even changing it to 'power save' it only gains a couple of minutes.
I have my laptop for almost a year. Is it normal that the battery practically used up within a year? Or is perhaps something else wrong here? In the beginning it could almost last 3 hours. But with only 30 minutes you can't get any work done.
Before installing Vista, I tought of making a backup on a second internal hard disk which a bought and installed on the original XP professional machine, I found myself to be very smart doing this. Unfortunatly now that Vista is installed on this machine the disk is not accessible. disk manager says "dynamic disk status invalid"? What can/should I do to gain control over this disk again? I can convert it to a standard disk (only option available in disk manager) beause then I will loos the information it contains.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am building a brand new system and bit the bullet and am attempting to install Vista Ultimate 64 with SP1 (Brand Spanking New DVD with SP1 on it). Everything boots up just fine, memory is okay (4 Gb), install runs fine and after the reboot, I get the following: File: Windowssystem32toskrnl.exe
Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: Windows failed to load because the kernel is missing, or corrupt. (I purchased all parts and software from Newegg) When I go to the MS Support site and put in the Product Key, it tells me that it's in an invalid format. 5 - 5 - 5 - etc is what I have, however, Microsoft is wanting 5 - 3 - 5 -etc. format. I have pulled out EVERYTHING and disconnected EVERYTHING except the DVD, HD, and vid card, so I'm running it as barebones as I can.
I recently restarted my computer and the following error message appeared. Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Instert your windows installation disk and resart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you don not have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
File: BootBcd
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.
I have followed all the instructions to no avail. I also entered the command eature and attempted to rebulid the bcd but it gives the error message "the requested system device cannot be found." I have a lot information on the hard drive so i would really like to be able to fix it without loosing any of the information.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Asus K8V-MX/S motherboard and it is nearly impossible to find bios updates for it with an old 20 gb ide hdd and a new tb samsung sata hdd. Currently the 20 gb has my vista home premium on it and is close to being full and I can't load in additional programs like office etc.. I have been not been able to load vista directly to the sata because vista won't recognize the drive because it is attached to a sata pci controller because my mb can't find the hdd either.
I have tried several cloning programs to get the vista cloned on to the new sata but that has turned out to be unsuccessful. I remember one program, XXClone, telling me that ntldr and netdetect.com files couldn't be found to make it bootable. What options do I have at this point?
When I wake up Laptop from hibernation or sleep or screen saver, IE and START button are non-responsive. I have to activate task manager and click "look for solution" which re-activates IE but makes me lose everything I was working on prior to sleep/hibernation or screensaver. Or I shut down manually using power button, then re-start/reboot. Have I programmed my PC incorrectly to sleep/hibernate or is it intrinsic VISTA prob?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an Epson Stylus C64 printer which I am able to use as normal (with ink levels and status monitor appearing) on my old computer with Windows XP.
My new laptop is Vista and although I have installed the Epson Stylus Printer Software that came with the printer onto the laptop, the Ink Indicator Levels and the Epson Status Monitor options showing in 'Printer Prefences' seem to be grayed-out/disabled. I am unable to gauge my ink levels so have no idea how much ink I have available and/or when to replace it. The actual printing seems to be fine at the moment but I am unable to tell when the ink requires replacing.
I have tried to re-install the Epson Printer software but nothing seems to change - the ink levels and status monitor contine to be disabled/grayed out. I noticed that when installing the software I am asked to disable any anti-virus software - I have Norton installed but have no idea how to uninstall it - my computer also seems to be automatically provided with something called McAfee Security - again I am unsure how to disable this and whether in fact I need to do this - it may be that the anti-virus programs are hindering the Epson software from fully loading? Any ideas and/or suggestions would be most welcome.
