I found an old thread from June 2009 that describes the issue I am having entitled Cut and Paste to Internet causes Error The person states the exact issue (see below) I have now and the only suggestion to this thread did not help me-- the issue is still there "trying to cut text from a MS Works Word Proccessor and paste it to a message board on the internet. When I right click to past, I get a message "Internet Explorer has Stopped Working and Must Restart" at which point my browser shuts and reopens" Does anyone know how to fix this?
I am running Vista Home, and when i go to copy music file from my windows media player, to say a sd card (have checked the card, seems fine), it will copy some files, but say 6Gb of music will take around 24 hrs. yup thats what i said, 24 hrs and sometimes it will give me an error code: 0x80070570. Does anyone know why this is doing it? I have tried to go into the F8 Feature, on startup, but i do not have the restore option.
When I try to paste anything into an email, Windows Mail stops working and closes down. Not sure if I have accidentally adjusted any setting recently. It also happens if I try to do the same when pasting to emails using Hotmail.
I want it to run Windows Vista 32-Bit Edition. I had Linux Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, now I erased the linux partition and format the disk with a utility called Dban. I had to make a bootable CD in order to format it. When the disk was in blank I inserted the Windows Vista DVD and the screen said "Windows is loading files" then the progress bar of Windows Vista appears however it stops. I waited there 1 hour, but nothing happened so i thought it was because I didn't format it to NTFS. Then I used GParted to format it to NTFS. I tried again, however it gave me the same results.
I have been using Windows mail fine for months, but starting yesterday it is not letting any outgoing message go out. I at first thought it was just a Comcast issue, but the other account i have with a totally seperate provider is not sending either. Here are the error messages:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: [brentwoodcamera] Warner Park Hike...', Account: 'mail.comast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

I have been using remote desktop to have access to our company server. I work away from the office but access letters and other information from our server. I usually copy and paste letters from remote desktop into my email (been doing it for last 2 years) and send information to my clients. NOW no go! I am terribly frustrated that I can't do this anymore as it has extremely added time on to a schedule that can't afford to spend a lot of time on this. Please ...... I need a fix for this problem before I huck my computer out the window! PS this started last week. Months after I had installed Windows Live (which I don't use anyway).
I have the same problem from today 22/04 of nt being able to paste into emails. Is there some update that has triggered this for either Vista or Windows Mail? Most inconvenient.
I know this is very basic, but I seem to have forgotten how to do it. I have never been able to copy and paste and address or anything because: when I select something I want to copy, then I click edit, or copy, or I click where I want to paste it, or I click anything else; it unselects what I have selected. So, if something is not selected you can't do anything with it, but if you click what you want to do with it- it is no longer selected??
I am running SP1 64-bit. I am an experienced Windows user and Vista has been working fine for >1 year. In the last couple of weeks I suddenly lost the ability to paste. If I cut or copy a string (browser, notepad, whatever) and try to paste it (CTRL+V) all that comes out is a single blank space! This seems like a very basic problem but I searched the forum and could not find a similar issue.
All of a sudden I can't copy and paste . I have tried right click copy and then gone to Works or Incredimail new message then right click but "paste" is greyed out. I have also tried Ctrl/c and Ctrl/v and that doesn't work either.I am using Vista Home Premium 32.
Just to make the lives of Vista advocates easier, this post contains some snippets that you can easily copy and paste into a new message. Microsoft will appreciate the intelligence you exhibit and convincing arguments you develop as you advocate for the best OS available for PCs today .......
Whys is it that I can copy and paste to Notepad but cannot do the same on webpages? C.B.-- It is the responsibility and duty of everyone to help the underprivileged and less fortunate among us.
Vista Home Premium 32bit-was running slow so I checked what was running at start up. I got rid of some obvious ones but not sure what needs to be left. I tried to copy and paste the start up log but it won't allow me to do it. I did some screen grabs into Word but it doesn't seem to attach properly.
I just discovered that I am unable to copy and paste a font. The computer that has the font runs Vista 64 bit. Have tried right-clicking and the Organize function. When I try, the Copy function is present but when I attempt to paste to another location on the same computer so that I can eventually email the font as an attachment, the Paste function is grayed out. Tried it on a friend's computer and her situation is the same. Her computer is also Vista 64 bit. On my computer, I am the Administrator and sole user.
I am unable to paste information from my e-mail or the web to a word document. I receive a message stating that the amount selected is too large, but when I select only one word to copy, the message remains the same.
Using SimpleOCR I scanned text. I wanted to email it and save it to Documents. The SimpleOCR scan had no provision to send it, so I saved it to Desktop, and it saved in Open Office (I have MS Works and Open Office but I don't know why it saved to Open Office since I usually Works for word processing). The saved scan I rightclicked Copy. When I tried to Paste in Hotmail email, I clicked the dark Paste but it did not paste. When I copied and tried to paste the scan to a Works word processing page, the Paste option was grey and I couldn't paste it there either. How can I copy and paste a Simple OCR scan?
I have a very long excel spreadsheet with email address in one column. With the older outlook product I was always able to cut and paste the column into the TO field and send mass emailings. Now that I am using winmail I get an error when I try to do this: CHECK NAMES: no matches found ........I have a clunky work around-I have added semicolins to each email address in the excel sheet but this of course is not a useful permanent fix. Can someone tell me how to turn off the "check names" feature or if this is not possible, how winmail can be used with excel to send mass mailings.
I posted earlier. with the problem of not being able to cut and paste into my Windows Mail. I've just done a system restore to before I downloaded Windows Live Mail and "hey presto" I can cut and paste into emails again. Perhaps it's unwise to download Live Mail - at least till they sort the program out!
Windows Explorer had been working fine but now it won't (1) resize to full screen, (2) paste any file anywhere or allow me to drag and drop files. This latter one also won't work on my desktop. What gives? Can I uninstall Windows Explorer and reinstall? Will the 'recovery disks' that came with the computer allow this to happen?
Also, I have a file I want to inspect, a CBS.log file, and it says I need the administrator permission to do this. How do I obtain this. I'm no dummy when it comes to computers but I cannot figure this one out on Vista.
I can not move, copy and paste OR cut and past files from folder to folder anywhere (desktop -> folder on desktop, my docs -> random folder, etc).
I am the sole user of this machine and my account is in the administrators group. I have tried taking ownership of the files and folders and it still does not work.
I have searched and searched and can not find a working solution to this problem.
I an running Vista Ultimate 32 Bit SP1 and have not installed any new applications that would cause this type of issue.
I am having a lot of problems with my vista. As of a couple of days ago, I'm no longer able to copy/paste or drag and drop with ease. For example, to drag and drop a browser window I drag the window but need to left click my mouse to release it. It’s the same thing if I am scrolling a page. When I try to copy paste, it’s the same sort of thing, but a little "Accelerator" icon appears and gives me the option to search the word in google. It also doesn't "highlight" the word or phrase properly, and has become a pain to try to make it stick (if that makes any sense).
why can't I paste a picture from a word document while Icopied with the copy command on the contextual menu (right clic mouse).the image are not blocked on the tools.
whenever I paste some file in the folder, it goes randomly somewhere in the already exsisting files. I have to explicitly find that file if folder contains many files. What are the setting for this? so that whenever I paste file in some folder it should appear at the last.
I've copied and pasted into my email many times. Now when I attempt this, the whole email program shuts down. I can copy and paste from another email in the program, but if I try to from a text doc or Word doc etc. the email program shuts down and I lose everything that was in the particular email I was writing.
I have always put the "Copy" and "Paste" buttons on my toolbar for quick access. Now, in Vista, I can't even find a button for either function. How do I get these buttons/icons back into my Toolbars? Now I have to actually go to the "Edit" Menu, or use the Right-Mouse Button Menu, to do what used to be a simple one-click operation. Drag-and-Drop has never worked well. Sometimes it will work and other times it seems to just drop the files wherever it wants. Then I have to go on a manual search to recover them. What happened to the ability to "Customize" the Toolbars? The Customizing of Toolbars has been removed from Vista, except for a "Limited" selection, which someone decided to leave available.
