Save time and money as Virtual PC allows you to maintain the compatibility of legacy and custom applications during migration to new operating systems and increases the efficiency of support, development, and training staffs.
With Microsoft® Virtual PC 2007, you can create and run one or more virtual machines, each with its own operating system, on a single computer. This provides you with the flexibility to use different operating systems on one physical computer.
For more information about the ways you can use virtual machines, see Virtual PC at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=78095. This update for Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 includes support for the following additional Host and Guest Operating Systems:
As you can see from my profile I have Vista Ultimate x64 but I can't install Virtual PC 2007. Basically I downloaded the installer (making sure it was the x64 version), ran it and it all went fine until suddenly the installation just rolled back and said that no modifications were made to the system. It doesn't give me an error message. I searched on the Internet but I can't seem to find the solution. And yes, I tried both the normal installer and the SP1 version.
Am I correct in assuming that, for Windows ME to run in a Virtual PC 2007 window, the Windows ME virtual disk must be located inside a disk partition that is FAT32? On a test run, I tried to install WinME on a virtual disk in a folder that was in my normal Vista partition (NTFS), and it didn't get far. I tried placing the WinME virtual disk inside an FAT32 partition, and although I didn't finish the installation process, I got that far, with the WinME instalation screen having popped up and ready for installation. One other thing: Is it possible to place the WinME virtual disk inside a logical FAT32 partition? Or must it be a primary partition?
This security update (see below) kept reappearing on my task bar wanting to be installed and I kept installing it. I finally checked and I have it on the list of installed updates a dozen times--but it still keeps appearing on my task bar asking to be installed. It's like a spell gone wrong. How do I stop it and/or get rid of it? I don't even have works 8 on my computer. Thanks, Don.
A security vulnerability exists in Microsoft Works 8 that could allow arbitrary code to run when a maliciously modified file is opened. This update resolves that vulnerability.

I keep getting a message that this update is ready to install. I have installed it about 10 times, but after it is installed, I get the update icon and the same update is there ready to be installed. When I look at the installation history, it shows that it has been installed successfully. HOW do I keep this update from showing up time after time? Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB936181)
I just installed SP1 from technet recently, and decided to try my hand at virtualization for the first time today. Once Virtual PC 2007 is installed, my system BSoDs during every boot. The only way to gain access to windows is safe mode, or using the last known good state.
After using last known good state, VPC 2007 is installed, but won't work (as the drivers/services have been removed during install). I've uninstalled the remainder of VPC 2007 and rebooted; no problems. Tried again to installed VPC, and after reboot it once again BSoDs endlessly. So it stems the error is recreatable (at least on my machine).
MS have realesed Virtual PC2007. Quote: Use Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 to run multiple operating systems at the same time on the same physical computer. Switch between virtual machines with the click of a button. Use virtual machines to run legacy applications, provide support, train users, and enhance quality assurance.......
I have a strange little quirk I ran into that maybe one of you may know something about with Virtual PC 2007 SP1. I have Vista 64 bit Ultimate w/SP1 installed as the host computer. If I use the 32 bit Vista Ultimate as a Virtual Machine (VM), I have no problems with the network connection or anything else in the VM. If I use the 32 bit Vista Home Premium as a VM, everything works fine except the network connection in the VM. The settings are the same on both.
I wanted to use Home Premium since it is the only one that I have a spare product key number for. Does anyone know of a reason why the network connection will not work with the Home Premium edition over the Ultimate with the exact same VM settings? I hope it's not simply because I have Ultimate installed as the host.
Is there a way to backup Virtual PC 2007 images. In VMWare, its easy enough to copy the image directory and restart on a new computer. Anyone have some simple pointers?
I have started this but then Vista locks up on me about 40% into the extracting files options. I am trying this first to see how it looks and feels before I have to blow away my existing OS system. The installation process tells me that the Upgrade Option is not available for me. Is there a way to change to a more robust virtual video card in VirtualPC 2007? I would like to experiance the full functionality of Aero in Vista. I'm running Ultimate64 w/ Ultimate32 on the virtual PC. At a minimum I would like to have some control some of the settings the "card" would use and such. Or am I just dreaming? I've googled, and visited many forums but none of the posts seem to address this head on.
I am running Office Home and Student 2007 and have just run a diagnostic which suggests that my installation is not up to date and that I go to the Microsoft Update site and download any available updates. When I do, I am asked to sign on with 'Microsoft Update'. The idea is, I think, to combine this Microsoft Update with my Windows Update and let Office updates come though along with updates for Vista, IE, etc. I have posted here before with issues concerning updates including a fiasco I had last November which involved Office updates and am wondering, since Office seems to be working well at the moment (I was bored so I did a diagnostic ) should I bother with this or just leave it? Does Office have security issues like IE and Vista?
I have been using Microsoft Outlook 2007 for about two weeks everything was working fine. I have not change the way I used this program. I have used Microsoft Outlook 2002 for a few years so I had no real problems until recently. I save many of the e-mails I receive in either text or HTML format with no problem. When I save an e-mail now in either text or HTML now, a folder is automatically created with the same name I have created the e-mail I have created. The e-mail which I save is not saved in the folder which automatically appears. What is in the folder are three files: colorschememapping, filelist, and themedata. If after I save the file then go back and delete the folder with the same name as the file, both the folder and the e-mail which I saved are deleted. I do not know what is going on. Now my computer is getting filled up with e-mail messages I want to keep and folders that I really do not want. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I am aboutready to pull my hair out.
Microsoft Update was first released a few years ago for Windows XP and Server 2003 as a great way to update all of your Microsoft software installed on your PC. Not only would it update Windows, but it would also update Microsoft Office. Are you a Microsoft Outlook user? If so, Microsoft Update would even download updated junk mail signatures when they are released.
In Windows Vista the new Windows Update application is no longer web-based. Microsoft has built-in the old Microsoft Update functionality into the new interface but you need to turn it on before you can use it. Follow these steps to turn on updates for other Microsoft applications: ...
i need an norton internet security 2007 10.2.0.30 serial number and an office 2007 12.0.4518.1014. i got a new toshiba a200 but all this comes in a limited license
I just recently purchased a new laptop and it finally arrived today. I have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 (I still have enough liscenses left for this laptop) which I was trying to install. I try to run setup and it attempts to load and then automatically closes and displays the following message:"Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator."
I am the administrator on this computer. When I try to launch setup on my other laptop that runs 32bit it works just fine. Before I bought the new laptop I checked to see if my software would work on 64bit and the internet said it would. Am I doing anything wrong?
I'm in Computer Science (IT) so I have an entire course on how to use Microsoft Project 2007. They make us buy a little how-to book. I'm following that book as an homework. So here is the problem. From the Resource Sheet, I choose a resource. Then, I go to Tools -> Change Working Time. I then click on the tab "Work Week". Then, I create a new exception for the resource. Then, in the boxes next to it, in the drop boxes, there's calendar to set when it begins and where it ends, right? Each time that I want to set the end day, Microsoft Project 2007 crashes automatically. It happens sometimes on the start day too.

while back I had a Windows XP PC but it got dumb and crashed. So I just got my new Tower Which is Windows Vista-x64(Home Premium.) On my old machine I had a game I new and loved called Rayman 2 that isn't compatible to Vista. So my only option was to install it under Microsoft VPC 2007. It did Install but It wouldn't play. Here is the issue: I go To play the game and an error pops up that said I need to install DirectX 6.0 so I did. It didnt matter tho cuz I still had the error. So then I realized the error as telling me to configure the Graphics so It had another error when I Opened The "GXSetup."
Which was this: error1.jpg It Didn't Really matter because it still let me open the exe. But HERE IS WHERE THE REAL PROBLEM STARTED. The program successfully opened! But This is what it contained: MajorError.jpg My only thought was what the f*ck I am going to scream. Because from what it looks like Virtual PC Wasn't Detecting Much or anything at all to do with Graphics (the dropdown arrows contain absolutely nothing).
I don’t know if I’m in the correct area or not. If not, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I have Vista 32 Home Premium operating system. I have Microsoft Office 2007. When I tried to delete my Junk E-mail folder it tells me it’s full. I know it isn’t so I have been deleting emails individually. How can I fix this problem?
one of my user in the network using outlook express before, know he brought the new laptop & install microsoft office 2007 & he wants his previous outlook express mail in new version microsoft office 2007.
The Microsoft Security Essentials proved itself. My notebook started to run weird, lately. I was suspicious and start scan the whole system with McAfee, however it stopped on 11% of scan and showed me the error. I started it once more, but it was disabled again.
I have been using the Microsoft Security Essentials on the Windows 7 and because I was thinking about switching to this AV on the Vista at the end of this year, I got rid of the McAfee Total Security and installed the Microsoft, just to give it a try on Vista. Yes, it found and destroyed the trojan in the System32. Today, it blocked the another one during browsing the web.
Is the a newsgroup for Microsoft Security Essentials? I've searched for security and found several newsgroups names with just 'security' but nothing specific.
I have Vista Home Premium and a brand new Dell Laptop. I've just bought Office Ultimate 2007. Everytime I open outlook or try to take any action, I get "please wait while windows configures microsoft office ultimate 2007". it takes a good while before it goes away. I have cleared the registry. I have uninstalled the previous trial office. I have uninstalled ultimate and reinstalled. Turned off the User security. looked at loads of threads
I see no Microsoft Win7 groups yet. how good the built-in security is...especially with respect to root kits? After I got a root kit on my XP machine...I got a bit paranoid about using Windows
In every way that I check, I am the Administrator. Nevertheless, everytime I try to update Office 2007 with MS patches, it tells me that I must be and Administrator in order to update. What on earth do I have to do? I tried going directly to MS home page, by clicking Windows update from my Start Menu, but it just ends with the same message with no choice to respond. If I check the User Accounts, it shows me as an Administrator. Suggestions?
