View 9 RepliesI just recently purchased a new laptop and it finally arrived today. I have a copy of Microsoft Office 2007 (I still have enough liscenses left for this laptop) which I was trying to install. I try to run setup and it attempts to load and then automatically closes and displays the following message:"Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your system administrator."
I am the administrator on this computer. When I try to launch setup on my other laptop that runs 32bit it works just fine. Before I bought the new laptop I checked to see if my software would work on 64bit and the internet said it would. Am I doing anything wrong?
I have Vista Home Premium and a brand new Dell Laptop. I've just bought Office Ultimate 2007. Everytime I open outlook or try to take any action, I get "please wait while windows configures microsoft office ultimate 2007". it takes a good while before it goes away. I have cleared the registry. I have uninstalled the previous trial office. I have uninstalled ultimate and reinstalled. Turned off the User security. looked at loads of threads

View 4 Replies View RelatedEvidently there are many others who have the same problem since the forums have a lot of people writing to find a solution to this When opening Microsoft Word 2007 a Configuration window would pop up and it would take 40 to 90 seconds for the program to come up. It was worse then some of the Adobe programs.. I'm operating a Vista Ultimate 64x operating system and thought that might be the problem. Evidently it doesn't have anything to do with it. I have been trying for weeks to find the solution to the delay but have been unsuccessful. I checked the many sites Google brought up, checked out several forums and went through all the Microsoft Newsgroups to no avail. I finally found the solution. This is from http://uksbsguy.com/ The full URL is at the bottom of the message. I followed his instructions and IT WORKS!!!! He is evidently a Microsoft employee. This is his solution....How to get rid of the installer / configuration dialog when running Office 2007 and Office 2003 on the same system - for Vista and other versions of Windows
I have been asked this many times following up on the blog entry Installing Office 2003 and Office 2007 on the same system where once people have removed the problem with the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) appearing every time they start Office they then get the dialogs below every time they switch between Word 2007 and Word 2003. when starting Word 2003 when starting Word 2007 The fix to the problem is very simple as it turns out - simply run the following commands (by pressing the Windows Key+R or typing it into the Start/Run command box. Use the line with Office11.0 if you have Office 2003 installed and Office12.0 if you have Office 2007 installed. You can use both if you have both installed : reg add HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftOffice11.0WordOptions /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1.......

View 6 Replies View RelatedAs you can see from my profile I have Vista Ultimate x64 but I can't install Virtual PC 2007. Basically I downloaded the installer (making sure it was the x64 version), ran it and it all went fine until suddenly the installation just rolled back and said that no modifications were made to the system. It doesn't give me an error message. I searched on the Internet but I can't seem to find the solution. And yes, I tried both the normal installer and the SP1 version.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have vista home premium 32bit and i have been recently getting error messages like the following: "the program has stopped working". Microsoft office 2007 was working for about couple of weeks when i installed it, but later on, it started not to work. I tried the repair function, reinstalling it, manually deleting the files and reinstalling it afterwards. I have also tried installing service pack 1 RTM to see if it will fix the problem. But so far, nothing works. Will the offical service pack fix this problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung netbook with Windows 7 starter edition, 250GB HD and 1MB of RAM. I purchased it with a trial version of Office Home and Student which has expired. I am a public sector employee which entitles me to a discount on Microsoft Office Professional 2010 which I have downloaded and installed after unistalling Home and Student 2007 using the Programs and Features in Control Panel.
Now, when I open Excel 2010, if I make a new file and save it, it works fine. But when I try to open an Excel file from Office 2007 or 2003, it will open but if I try to change the file or save it as an Office 2010 file, excel stops working and shuts down. Windows has no solutions to this problem. I have checked for updates, but all that windows update offers are updates for the 2007 version of Office.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOriginally, I had Office 2003 installed in my computer, & a trial version of 2007 that had already expired.
Today I installed a full version of Microsoft Office 2007, without removing any of the other two versions from my computer. I realized that it seemed to automatically remove the older version. I`m not bother about it not being there, as I got the new version, but I wonder if this is an automatic uninstalling that Office does, or if the version is still there but I can`t see it, as I would like to remove it properly if it`s still somewhere in my computer.
I checked in Control Panel & the only thing I can see is "Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007", the full version I just installed, & everything that come with it. No 2003 anywhere.
I know you can do this document-by-document by opening each document individually and clicking "Upgrade" or whatever, but is there a way to convert all your Office documents at once?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having to rebuild my computer (long story). On the old system I have a backup image using Acronis but when I restore using the backup image and boot I get a BSOD. I was able to restore the image to an external drive and I can connect to my laptop via USB/eSATA and see everything on the drive. The new system is up and running, and I can access what used to be my old 'C' drive. Here's the situation that I need help with: I was (and will be) using Office Outlook 2007 as my email client. I've been able to recover most of my outlook stuff, what I have not been able to recover is
My email accounts - I had about 10 and with a bit of pain I can recover them. My rules - I had about 200 and only with a LOT of pain and time will I be able to recovery them. Any advice (instructions at the dummy level would be welcome) as to how I can recover my email accounts and rules (especially my rules).
If you are like me and have a NAS device on your network that is not compatible with Windows Vista, now you can tweak Windows Vista to make it work again. You do not even have to wait for your device manufacturer to release a new firmware any more! Just follow these steps below:
Click on the Start Button and key in secpol.msc in the search box and hit Enter.
When the Local Security Policy editor has loaded, expand Local Policies and select Security Options.
Scroll through the list and locate "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level." Right click on this setting and select Properties....
I just replaced my 10-year-old PC and am trying to install Office Home and Student 2007 on my new Vista 64 machine. Unfortunately, whether I use the autorun or manually double-click setup.exe on the disc, nothing happens. I get an hourglass briefly, the disc spins in the drive, and setup.exe appears in the task manager for about three seconds then disappears. Nothing else happens.
I've downloaded every available update from Microsoft. I'm logged in as an administrator, I've tried to right-click on setup.exe and select run as admin from there, I've tried changing compatibility mode to XP SP2, and nothing seems to work.
I've been searching online for awhile now and can't find anything with regard to this issue. Has anyone seen this before? Or, can anyone give me some suggestions? I didn't anticipate any problems because I read in many places that Office 2007 runs fine on Vista 64, so I uninstalled Works and the free 60-day Office trial from my new PC before I tried to install the full version of Office to avoid conflicts. Unfortunately, I don't have access to Word or Excel now, and it's going to be a problem.
