For whatever reason, my taskbar, regardless of where I have it on the desktop, regardless if it's "locked" or not is always behind. As in, windows and programs can come in front of it. How can I reverse that?

The SBar is available only for x86 version of Vista and nor for x64 version.
The rest of the methods mentioned in many forums are not that effective.
when I open Windows mail from the command bar it goes straight to the taskbar and I have to click it to open in a normal window. How can I get it to open in a normal window like it's supposed to do? This is in IE7 64bit, it opens normally in the 32bit version. When it is minimized in the taskbar any left or right click will open it so I cannot just right click it and use a command. I've tried all the obvious stuff and nothing seems to work.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had just installed Warhammer Online and everything was going well. The following day after i had finished gaming i logged off. From there i was about to click the little red shut down button but it was unclickable. After some time i just released the battery from the back. To see if everything was ok i tried turning it on again and it said Windows Error Recovery. It gave me 2 options, Startup Repair Which was recommended and normal startup. I clicked startup repair but when i did the screen went black and brought me straight back to Windows Error Recovery. No matter how many times i click repair it doesnt work. If i click normal start it just Brings me to the screen where it says Microsoft and there a little green bar flashing over and back as if loading. After some time it goes black and i have to remove battery to turn it off.

I tried to buy another file manager, but it interferred with my AOL and the one by Google won't work on Vista. Can I shift back to the old XP explorer? I am attempting to play Age of Empires on Windows Vista. I can load and play the game, but sometimes (Almost always) the entire computer will freeze. I cannot even get back to my desktop using key strokes. I have to hold down the power button to shut the computer down. WHen I re-boot the computer the screen resolution is all messed up because it is still set to the low AOE II screen resolution settings. Is there anything I can do to stop making the computer freeze?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I insert the DVD, I click on 'Install Now' and the whole installation process works fine. But, right at the very end, it says 'Completing Installation'. Then, it says 'The installation was unsuccessful so the computer is reverting back to your previous version of windows'. Then my computer restarts back as Windows XP. I have made sure I have all the system requirements and have downloaded and run the upgrade advisor. I have installed the vista home premium on my laptop first and it works fine. It just doesn't seem to want to install on my desktop computer.

i'm kinda desperate atm. My laptop has this annoying habit of reverting back to windows standard/classic theme after almost every restart. I said almost as after 2/3 and sometimes even more, my aero theme correctly appeared. After another restart right after that, the problem occurs all over again. The search function in the start menu and windows explorer also 'failed to initialize' when in the said windows standard/classic mode.
I figured that this might have something to do with my user profile as I have the 'User Profile Service service failed the login. User profile cannot be loaded' problem once very recently but I've fixed it using the tutorial in this forum. The windows standard/classic theme problem had been on for quite a while back, before the user profile problem. Before all this happened, I've had this 'C:WindowsSystem32configsystemprofileDesktop refers to a location that is unavailable...' problem. I fixed that by copying all my files and folders in my C:Users[Username] folder to the location above and replacing all the files including desktop.ini. It is only after this that I've had the windows standard/classic theme problem.
I couldn't help but wonder if somehow my user profile has got something to do with it? Windows system restore could not fix this problem. By the way, I'm using a modified aero theme at the moment, using TuneUp Utilities 2009 on a Vista Home Premium 32bit Acer 5920G laptop.
I ran the Memory Diagnostics tool and after it completed and rebooted back into Windows, I didnt see any results. Where do you see the results of the test? I'm trying to diagnose this problem where my PC is rebooting at random, but I can't determine if it's a memory problem or not. So where can I find the results of this test?
