Reverts Back To Windows Standard/Classic Theme After Restart

i'm kinda desperate atm. My laptop has this annoying habit of reverting back to windows standard/classic theme after almost every restart. I said almost as after 2/3 and sometimes even more, my aero theme correctly appeared. After another restart right after that, the problem occurs all over again. The search function in the start menu and windows explorer also 'failed to initialize' when in the said windows standard/classic mode.
I figured that this might have something to do with my user profile as I have the 'User Profile Service service failed the login. User profile cannot be loaded' problem once very recently but I've fixed it using the tutorial in this forum. The windows standard/classic theme problem had been on for quite a while back, before the user profile problem. Before all this happened, I've had this 'C:WindowsSystem32configsystemprofileDesktop refers to a location that is unavailable...' problem. I fixed that by copying all my files and folders in my C:Users[Username] folder to the location above and replacing all the files including desktop.ini. It is only after this that I've had the windows standard/classic theme problem.
I couldn't help but wonder if somehow my user profile has got something to do with it? Windows system restore could not fix this problem. By the way, I'm using a modified aero theme at the moment, using TuneUp Utilities 2009 on a Vista Home Premium 32bit Acer 5920G laptop.
I ran the patcher that came with this Vista theme SoulGlass by ~bubito on deviantART and now some windows have Aero and others have what looks like a messed up windows classic theme. I tried using vista glazz to patch it back. I tried restarting multiple times. I tried switching to classic theme and back. Nothing works. I have Vista Ultimate 64. Here's a screenshot.
I would like to run Vista in the Classic theme, but its horribly glitchy and slow since they removed GDI 2D acceleration from WDDM. Is it possible to hack GDI acceleration back in? What I really like is the Classic theme with Aero effects (zooming windows, vsynced,etc.)
I'm still using XP and I always use the classic style.
Recently, I've been thinking about switching to Vista 64 someday, but I've got a question about the classic theme:
I know that the theme is available, but does it give me complete access to all the functions available? I think I heard somewhere that some things won't work properly because Vista's GUI just differs very much from the older ones, and so there are functions that are not accessible anymore.
Is that true? Can the use of the classic theme really narrow my set of functionalities?
Using Vista Home Premium 32-Bit. I have installed Microsoft 2007 Power Point Viewer. When I select it in File Association to open .pps files and then try to open a .pps file the association reverts back to the Microsoft Office Power Point Point selection. I have uninstalled the Microsoft Office Group to get away from the on screen nagging to purchase it so now I am unable to select any Power Point program that works. The system always reverts to an association that no longer exists.
On installation of Vista on my Lenovo Laptop the homepage in IE was set to Lenovo, I have changed this to BBC/NEWS and set this to be the only homepage I want. However at least 2-3 times each day it reverts back to Lenovo homeppage, I then have to reset it back to BBC/News.
I installed Vista SP1 Ultimate. By default the aero theme is activated. I would like to switch to the Vista standard theme, but it seems this theme is not present. In control panel / Appearance and Personalization / Personalization / Theme, there are only two themes listed: Windows vista (aero) and Windows Classic. Is there a way to install the Vista standard theme? It should be present in Vista Ultimate.
I recently created a second administrative account. For sercurity reasons i hid it from the login screen. When i was making it I accidently changed my first administrative account to standard and didnt change it back before i logged off. Now I cant login in to an administrative account or change the dword value back to 1 so i can login because i dont have adminstrative permission. When i try to do this or change the account back to adminstrator it says "To continue type an administrators password and press ok. BUT their is nowhere to type and the ok is shaded so i cant press it! WHAT do i do! Is their another way i can login?
I've got an Sony VGN-BX197XP laptop that I've upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate. Since then I've encountered some strange display-related issues:
1) I could only boot into Aero about 50% of the time. The rest of the time I forced onto the Standard theme with no Aero option. Since installing Vista SP1 I can't get Aero at all.
2) When not running in Aero mode I can't get the Windows Media Player to play video files, nor get a Perfomance Index.
3) If I plug in an external monitor I can't get a picture on the laptop monitor but I *do* get a picture on the external monitor and it runs Aero 100% of the time. It will also play video files and give me a performance index.
Both apart is quite straightforwad. Go to Options and select which you desire. But I am NOT able to achieve both. Tried two approaches: First I made a BMP-file with my signature and logo and used the stationary wizard to put that on left bottom of my messages. In the wizard I can also change the font and size. Easily done. But ... when I compose a mail the bitmap doesn't go down with the text which makes this approach quite useless.
Secondly I made a HTM-document with Word and again placed my signature and logo on the bottom. In Mail itself I tell to use font Calibri 12. The HTML-text scrolls nicely down when I compose a mail but it KEEPS typing in dull times New Roman 12. The 2nd approach is closest to what I desire apart from the font. Maybe there is a 3rd approach which I haven't found. Maybe there is a simple solution.
i thought to get the aero theme to my windows vista. So i search in google how to get windows aero. I found a way to have by installing a free program called VistaGlazz 1.3 (Available in Cnet.com). So I downloaded the program, follow the instructions and installed windows aero. First it was good but then i thought how to make it look more transparent. So i tried to download a custom theme of vista aero by someone else. I dont know how i screw it but the thing is that i put the theme file in C:WINDOWSResourcesThemes. I saw the old file of vistaglazz so i tried to delete it. But when i deleted it my computer got corrupted and the all the thing got in black. saw that my desktop was all in black. I coudnt even see the letters. So luckly i change my windows into the classic version. When i go to C:WINDOWSResourcesThemes i saw that my Windows Vista theme file had dissapear. Even in customization and apperreances there was no windows vista. So now iam using a aero without windows vista original theme file. I dont know how happened but I think that in a way my windows vista theme file got mixxed with vistaglazz aero file. So it got deleted.
1) I don't see any Windows 7 newsgroups here except one in Italian. Are there any Windows 7 newsgroups in English?
2) How can we get some color difference between the active and the inactive title bar or application window border in Windows 7, while keeping the rounded corners on application windows?
When you pick a Windows 7 Aero theme such as the one called "Windows 7", you are allowed to turn off transparency (Yay!), and you are allowed to pick a "Window Color". You can select from several different pale, washed-out color schemes here. But, even if you use the Color Mixer, you can't get much difference in color between the active title bar and the inactive title bar...........

I had Vista and loved the look, and I heard VistaOSX was even better, so I got it and did the transformation pack. It was ok but I liked the look of Vista better so I tried switching the theme back, it worked. But then I shut down my computer for the night and when I turned it on the next day, I had the Windows BASIC theme.
I tried going to "Task Manager", ran it as an administrator then went to "Services" then scrolled down to themes and it was stopped. I turn it back on and it told me to restart my computer, I did and when I turned it back on, it didn't work, I kept getting: "Could not find file C:WindowsResourcesThemesaero.theme Because The Theme Service Is Not Running." Or Something Like That. Now for some reason, I am not getting that message. It changes the background of my computer to the Vista background but nothing else.
How do i change the color of the desktop behind the wallpaper in the windows aero theme? I've done it before so i know it can be done it's just that i can't remember.
I dont know what has happened but evertime i turn my computer on the appearance has changed to windows standard, I change it back to Windows Aero and click apply and ok. I turn my computer on and its back to Standard.
I recently purchased a new pc with Windows Vista installed. My old pc used XP. The appearance theme I prefer is the "Rose Large" in windows classic. This theme is not shown in the windows classic menu on my new pc. Is there anyway I can access this theme with Vista?
im having a problem on my Vista...my display adapters on DEvice manager has a (!) sign...i cant update my Microsoft Windows Standard VGA Adapter version 6.0.6000.16383 6/21/2006. please teach me were can i download the driver...i hope someone teach me to resolve this.
is it safe to install Windows Updates logged into the machine as standard user (as opposed to a Computer Administrator)? Up until now I have always logged into the machine as the Computer Admin specifically to install updates - but is this necessary?
Why, on Earth, that even my desktop computer which I've just recently re-installed windows XP is it annoying me with the yellow shield saying I need updates?! I just did it now and it said "done, now we need to restart" I click restart, it boots up and it STILL says I need to update! Could it be because, this computer ALSO has Microsoft Office 2003? If Office 2003 the problem, or is my luck just crap bad nowadays?
I did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium and the system operates faster than with my previous set-up with XP. After updating some of my drivers from Windows update, I am satified with VISTA so far except that I noticed that Windows identifies my video card as a standard VGA. When I down loaded the Nvidia driver from Toshiba (QG20disp-7882), it seemed to install and operate correctly however Internet Explorer would not start after the installation. I tried several times with the same results. To get the internet working again I had to Restore the sytem to the previous standard VGA set up. This standard VGA set-up limits the ability to see videos with Media Center. Has anyone run into this problem and how can I solve it. Incidentaly the NVIDIA card has 128 MB dedicated memory so it should be able to run AERO but it is not available.
Very often, my computer will restart during hibernation. Occasionally, after the restart it will give me an error message to the effect of "Windows had to shut down unexpectedly...". Very occasionally, it will tell me it was a hard drive error associated with hibernation.
i just install a modified form of vista call nvidia revolution, after i change the language locate in my regional setting to chinese simplified and restart window, it come out that my window cant start and some file is missing or corrupt, the file is something call nsl file......i cant even start in safe mode and do the repair with vista recovery tool.
When I click on my windows mail icon, it won't launch unless I restart my computer. Then it will launch and works fine but if I close the program, it won't launch again. I also get an error message that says the following: Outlook Express at 0x0359399d referenced memory at 0x0000006c. The memory could not be written. Click ok to terminate the program. At the top of the window this message appears in it says the following Outlook Express Foldersync Window Class: WinMail. exe-application error.
I don't know if my Threadtitle fits the exact English message (doubt it) but that's my Problem. Since the start of my PC today my Windows Explorer stopped working, everytime i click on Computer or Control Panel. It always just restarts the Explorer and i got the same again. By searching the Error via Google i found 1000s of Topics about this Issue
i had a vista home premium, without any problem, for a while. yesterday my anti-virus detected a suspicious file located in c:UsersuserappdataLocalTemp and i allow it to delete mentioned file. after a restart windows start up couldn't be completely done and instead of log in screen, i faced with a black screen just with mouse enabled on it!! however windows boots in safe mode correctly. i have already tried start up repair but it didn't solve the problem!
I am doing a clean install of Vista 64 Ultimate SP1. At the partition screen I select load drivers (I obtained drivers directly from Gigabyte Support). Windows installs the ACHI10 drivers with no problem. I select ?Next? to begin the install. After ?Completing Installation? the PC restarts and proceeds to the black Windows screen with the green scroll bar. It scrolls two or three times and then hangs. I then go into Safe Mode where the computer hangs at crcdisk.sys. An error message then returns that says ?Windows cannot finish the installation?. My only remaining option is to try and repair from the CD. But when I select ?The repair option? the blue repair bar scrolls indefinitely. I actually let it scroll for over 24 hours?and it never stopped. Gigabyte tech support told me to remove all ram except 1 cartridge. I?ve tried that and did a clean install (deleted the partition and loaded the correct chipset drivers and the beginning of the install) yet the scroll bar still hangs.
