Is it possible to load a 32 bit version of AutoCAD 2009 so my third party software will work? If not, what are some other options? Because I need the third party software to do my job. I must have the 32 bit version of AutCAD.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just purchased Halo 2 for Microsoft Windows Vista. It runs but there is one problem......It runs choppy when in a room with multiple people or a lot of "action". I have the graphics turned as low as possible and the screen resolution all the way down too. One thing i did notice is that when running the game it only runs off one of my Intel Pentium Core 2 processors. My questions is: Does anyone know how to fix the problem? Is there a way to split the work load between both processors?

When I run the installer i get the following error message: "messenger couldnt be installed because we had trouble installing these requirements: * Microsoft Application Error Reporting Try installing Windows Live programs again. I tried quite a bit:
- I am admininistrator and have all rights.
- Downloaded the installer and ran it as administrator
- Downloaded the whole file (wlsetup-all.exe, 134MB) and tried to run it (as administrator), instead of the installer itself (wlsetup-custom.exe, 1mb).....

I have a direct ethernet connection from my modem to my laptop, so no hardware firewall AFAIK, and as for anti-virus, I've been using Avast home free edition with no problems so far. I've never considered installing a 3rd party firewall - I just leave Windows' default firewall settings enabled. My questions is, do any of you believe that it's neccesary to have a firewall, and if so, which do you use? How would you rate it's performance? (I'm looking for free firewalls that perform well) I've read about Comodo and Zone alarm (I believe that's what it's called) but I've also read how they are essentially useless. I'm looking for one that won't be too much of a nuisance, ex: one that’s incompatible with other programs.

If I get the OEM version, I know that a restriction in the license means it cannot be transferred to another computer. I need to get clarification on the following:
1) What happens if my computer crashes and I am told I have to reformat the hard drive and re-install Windows? Am I forced to buy a new license?
2) What if I want to have a backup hard drive, or upgrade my existing hard drive to a bigger one? If it's the same computer and only the hard drive is upgraded or a second one added, does that mandate a new license?
I read in one of the posts that 3d party defrager could mess up start speed and comp performance, whereas vista's built-in defrager keeps certain files in ceratin places to increase efficiency and speed.

I took ultimate because it was the only version i could find (in my area anyway) that had a 64bit version in the box. But i don't want the media center, the high definition, and all the multimedia stuff. All of these ultimate "extras" are of no use whatsover to me. So my question is basically can i install the Business version with my ultimate key ? (is it "downwards" compatible in a way ?). I don't understand why ultimate is the only one with 64bit in the box. It doesn't make sense to me. It would have been much more logical for the Business version to be the one with 64bit in the box.

I intend to buy Windows 7 when it becomes available and wish to minimize my system upgrade problems as much as possible. Based on my understanding I would have to do a complete harddrive erase to install Win 7 and then reinstall all my applications. If possible and practical I'd like to upgrade XP to Vista and then Vista to Windows 7. My question am I likely to have problems going from a current up to date version of XP to a 2+ year old version of Vista which would require many updates to bring up to the current level?.

But everty time I try to launch FM 2009 with Steam my PC crashes and turns into a blue screen with some text. it says delete the software which you just used. so I tryed to delete FM 2009 but I got the same message. some more info:

About 2 months ago i upgraded my WLM suite. To my horror, they changed windows live mail from an application, back to a website email. So quickly system restored back and luckily was able to retrieve the old version which is an actual client installed on my PC as opposed to hotmail.com. Anyway, I've noticed with my old version of messenger, i am plagued with that annoying cant sign in troubleshoot thing and thought i might want to upgrade to the WLM 2009 messenger. THing is, with this new WLM suite range, i cannot upgrade messenger without upgrading my email client. Is there a trick to upgrade messenger without upgrading mail?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a bandwidth meter, after getting excess data usage on my cable bill. We only surf, upload pics, forums, occasional DL, etc. Nothing heavy. Yesterday I used 750 mb just surfing!! the only DL I did was a 22mb Adware, to check for spyware. no viruses, well protected here. I uninstalled yahoo, bitching that it must be that. I saw a drop, but not enough to use as much as i was, just surfing. I got to thinking about how years ago, Norton (or McAffee I forget) used to DL mail to their server, scan it and then redownload it to your computer. I thought Norton must have a similar bug. I was 31 days into my 90 day trial, and that has been the only major change on here. I uninstalled Norton and viola usage is down about 90%. I always thought it was strange that Norton never notified me of anything, but obviously it was busy doing something in the background. Just the occasional notification (rarely) that it found a problem and fixed it. Although they were idiotic notifications, like we found a cookie and fixed it.
