Aug 6, 2009How do I get my computer to stop asking me if I want Windows to compact my messages in mail? I do not use windows mail and do not have enough mail to constitute compression.

Mar 9, 2009Windows mail keeps trying to compact the the files when I close the program.It keeps trying and I get errors. How is this fixed? It's the most annoying thing as it doesn't quit, if I click OK - I get another error. How do I get it to compact the news/mail files? Never had this problem with OE I used this to compact and repair the database - it said it compressed it, but did not. WMail is still trying to compess the data base every time I close the program. How is this fixed once and for all? I'm also getting a little window pop up from the bottom bar saying "Data Execution Prevention closed Windows?" What the hell is "Data Execution Prevention?"

Compact, Vista Mail Crash
Feb 10, 2009Running Vista Mail, then close it, a pop ask to compact, said yes, its get about half way, then tell me that Vista Mail crash, and restarts Vista Mail. I have tried, reboot, shutting off Virus Apps, and still, several time, it will ask me to compact when closing vist mail, and I say yes... but still crashes, and restarts vista mail.

Jun 11, 2008I've been getting a lot of blue screen stop messages that halt mycomputer. About 2 weeks ago this was happening once a day. It became more frequent until yesterday it was happening every time I tried to boot up during the boot process. Last night, I finally copied off all of my files, formatted the hard drive, and installed a new copy of Vista Premium. Believe it or not, I still have the same problem - although now I can boot up and get some work done before a crash happens.
This is a Sony Vaio laptop with 1.25 gigs of ram and a 70 gig hard drive. The error messages are always different. I didn't write any of them down, but they are like "Subset not less than zero" and "Page fault in non-paging area" and "IQL server not found" (I'm sure these aren't right, but you get the idea). So, how could this be happening on a clean and formatted hard drive with a brand new operating system? Is the problem in the BIOS or the motherboard or somewhere else?

Jul 29, 2009Let it be known that if you purchase the above OS, you will not be able to transfer any of your e-mail messages or contacts from your old 32 bit system to the new 64 bit system. Even if you attempt to download Outlook Express, it is 32 bit and will not download and instal, therefore, you can't imnport your Outlook files into Outlook Express to convert their file extension to something compatible with Windows Mail, which is the new e-mail program.
OH, before I forget, I want to thank Microsoft for the laser/wireless mouse and keyboard configuration. My Device Manager does not recognize the keyboard as a wireless keyboard, instead it ;ists it as a "HID", (Human Input Device", or dome crap like that, and my mouse and keyboard continually freeze.
