Windows Mail; Sent Messages Gone
Jun 20, 2008I just went into my Windows mail to verify that something was sent and ALL my sent messages are gone. Does anyone know what would have caused this or how to get them back?

Windows Mail Compress The Messages But Cannot
Sep 5, 2009WindowsMail keeps trying to compress the messages but cannot. I keep getting the "other ap using the application" or something similar. How do I compact the messages? Nothing else was using the mail program.

Jun 16, 2008I configured the e-mail correctly and it recieves and sends messages, therefore, it doesn't work all the time. Only some times. As this e-mail I use is the enterprise e-mail, I need it to work all the time I click in "send/recieve messages" and don't need it to work "when it decides to" and so, most of the times, I can't use the Windows Mail, but the site where I registered my e-mail in, which doesn't have all the resources the Windows Mail does. It works in random times... Last Friday, I started working at 8:30 am and
the messages only were recieved at 5:00 pm. So, I'd like to know... What's going on?

Mar 23, 2008I recently moved and after setting up my computer, I am suddenly no longer able to send messages through windows mail. i haven't had problems with it before and find it odd that all of a sudden it is sending me an error message. I'm not sure if I accidentally changed a setting or something. the error message I am receiving when trying to send e-mails is:

Jun 6, 2008using this Windows Mail program to read messages in the MS bases. Where in the world is the internet files/cache/cookies stored now anyway? I've used the same method in viewing them for quite some time now, but using the same method after getting this new laptop with vista installed isn't showing me the files. I suppose that the files could be being handled differently now, but I'm not sure. So are these files STILL stored/accessed the same way?

Feb 11, 2010Recently when logging on to my e-mail account I lost all my saved messages, the only one left were in the inbox. Now every time I log on Windows Mail generates a "Recovered Messages" folder filled with lots of empty folders and no messages.

Aug 13, 2008Am sending messages that are not being received - it is not every message, and not to the same person (and no message that it could not be delivered!). I normally find out when I have not received an cknowledgement, or a reply, and I ring to find out why.
Second problem is that not all messages appear in the "sent" folder. Seems to be a random problem - not address related (ie messages sent to the same organisation - some appear in the sent folder, some do not).
Am using Vista Home Premium, with Avast.
Mail: Cannot Delete The First 27 Messages
Feb 8, 2010I keep getting 42 messages trying to come through and they get stuck on message 28. I then get a message saying 'client connected' and I can never retrieve the other messages. I then cannot delete the first 27 messages. Do I have a virus or something or what is happening?

This is approx the 3rd or 4th time that it happened and I am getting concerned about the security of my account. Jul 29, 2009Let it be known that if you purchase the above OS, you will not be able to transfer any of your e-mail messages or contacts from your old 32 bit system to the new 64 bit system. Even if you attempt to download Outlook Express, it is 32 bit and will not download and instal, therefore, you can't imnport your Outlook files into Outlook Express to convert their file extension to something compatible with Windows Mail, which is the new e-mail program.
OH, before I forget, I want to thank Microsoft for the laser/wireless mouse and keyboard configuration. My Device Manager does not recognize the keyboard as a wireless keyboard, instead it ;ists it as a "HID", (Human Input Device", or dome crap like that, and my mouse and keyboard continually freeze.

Mar 23, 2008I have recently encountered a situation where sent messages randomly are not put into the Sent Items folder of Windows Mail even though that option is checked in my Options settings. This problem never occurred until about two days ago. I have unchecked and rechecked this option and rebooted the PC, but no resolution.
As I said it occurs randomly, but more often than not. For example, I can send several test messages to the same receipient that correctly get put into the Sent Items folder, and then without changing any settings whatsoever one to the same receipient does not get placed there.
