I'm using Windows Mail for my emails. When I exit the program, all the messages in the Delete Folder are permanently deleted. Under earlier versions you had the option of keeping messages in the delete folder when existing. I can't find that option in the current version of Windows Mail.

It is a shame that micro?? doesn't make this an automatic feature. I found all my outlook express files from when I imported those into vista mail but can't locate the vista mail folder.

View 7 Replies View RelatedAm sending messages that are not being received - it is not every message, and not to the same person (and no message that it could not be delivered!). I normally find out when I have not received an cknowledgement, or a reply, and I ring to find out why.
Second problem is that not all messages appear in the "sent" folder. Seems to be a random problem - not address related (ie messages sent to the same organisation - some appear in the sent folder, some do not).
Am using Vista Home Premium, with Avast.
I have Vista. Approximately 5 days ago, I tried to Delete my Deleted Mail Folder and it won't delete. I have to delete every message separately. I downloaded the 32-Bit Version 941090 package yesterday, it still does not work. I did have an automatice update a few days ago, and I am beginning to think that is when it stopped working properly.

I recently moved and after setting up my computer, I am suddenly no longer able to send messages through windows mail. i haven't had problems with it before and find it odd that all of a sudden it is sending me an error message. I've used the same method in viewing them for quite some time now, but using the same method after getting this new laptop with vista installed isn't showing me the files. 1. Auto complete only works when it feels like it.
2. Cant delete contacts.
3. Cant send messages to newgroups, I am sure the list goes on and on...
When trying to open or delete some messages in WM, I am receiving an error message telling me "an unexpected error has been encountered." The error message states that there is a problem with memory or the disk being full. My computer is fairly new so I can't imagine that I have even come close to filling my memory.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a new computer and transferred all my email accounts (3 accounts in total) and all the e-mail messages in each 3 over to my new computer. I should mention that one of the accounts is an Imap account. What I am trying to do is delete all the e-mail messages in each account on my old computer so that it is completely clean so I can then give it to my daughter without any of my messages on there.
The first time I deleted all of the emails on my old computer, it also deleted all of them on my new computer as well. How can I keep all of my emails that were transferred to my new computer and delete all of them on my old one without affecting my new computer? Is it a question of deleting each actual account in my old one completely? Or by doing this, will I subsequently delete all of the accounts on the new one as well?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've recently done a clean install of VISTA Ultimate on a new hard disk. This is an upgrade copy, so I used the "old" disk and ran it from there. Vista runs on the C drive now, but I can't free up space on the "old" D drive because I can't delete the Windows folder or any of the files or folders in it. I'm denied access. Tried the Administrator account trick. Tried everything. Disk clean up tool. This is my biggest complaint with running VISTA for the past year: I can't access my own computer because I'm told I don't have permission! I built them, I run a home network of 3 machines and I'm continually told I don't have permission to do what I want or need to do. UAC is off.

I could simply click on the message and block that sender. Now, I cannot even locate the command to block senders for newsgroups. I can block senders for email by manually entering the address, but that is not the same thing as what I am trying to describe. Some newsgroups are being hit with incredible numbers of junk messages, and I would like to be able to clear the messages (as I could when I used Win XP and earlier versions of IE). I realize this may not be the best way to move to the new OS but I can't bear the thought of having to reinstall all the programs if I do a clean install. I looked in the deleted items folder. It wasn't there. I looked in the Recycle Bin and it wasn't there so I lost all the legit messages I had in that folder.

The possible causes are not the problem. I have 2 gig memory and it was working fine when I only had 1 gig of memory. Disk space, I have over 90 gig of free space.

Sometime it recovers but otherwise I need to kill it. I can open the attachment by clicking on the paper clip etc and everything seems fine so I don't think it's a security thing.

What are these messages and how can I get rid of them? There are several thousand of them on my wife's computer and I don't want to get that kind of clutter on mine.
