When trying to open or delete some messages in WM, I am receiving an error message telling me "an unexpected error has been encountered." The error message states that there is a problem with memory or the disk being full. My computer is fairly new so I can't imagine that I have even come close to filling my memory.

Under earlier versions you had the option of keeping messages in the delete folder when existing. I can't find that option in the current version of Windows Mail.

I could simply click on the message and block that sender. Now, I cannot even locate the command to block senders for newsgroups. I can block senders for email by manually entering the address, but that is not the same thing as what I am trying to describe. Some newsgroups are being hit with incredible numbers of junk messages, and I would like to be able to clear the messages (as I could when I used Win XP and earlier versions of IE). I am using Vista Home Premium and IE7.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI restored my vista OS using a system image utility provided by Alienware. It created a backup folder on the c drive with all the old files in it, including user profiles. I changed the owner of all files and folders back to my account and tried to delete it, but got the UAC messages that I need to allow administrator rights to do so. After clicking yes, I got a message that permission was denied with the only options of "Try Again" or "Cancel". After making visible all hidden files and folders, I was able to drill down to the one file I could not delete. I've used the "take ownership" steps in Vista explorer properties, and also the "takeown" dos commands, which report success that the Administrators group or my account which belongs to the administrators group, is the owner of the file, and that I have full control of it. Even so, I cannot delete this file. In DOS, I get access denied. In Explorer, I get the "you need permission to perform this action" message, with "try again" or "cancel", and it shows that my account (or administrators group, doing it that way) is the owner. It's just this one file. I was able to delete all other files and folders around this file, but just not this one.
I wonder if the folder path is so long or so nested that UAC fails to figure it out? It was in users\appdata
oamingetc. Or is the file corrupt? The file is a tempory file created by one of those biometric devices when logged on with your fingerprint, and is supposed to disappear when you log off, but it seems to have remained there because of a hard boot. Is there a utility I can use that can nuke this one lone file?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have recently encountered a situation where sent messages randomly are not put into the Sent Items folder of Windows Mail even though that option is checked in my Options settings. This problem never occurred until about two days ago. I have unchecked and rechecked this option and rebooted the PC, but no resolution.
As I said it occurs randomly, but more often than not. For example, I can send several test messages to the same receipient that correctly get put into the Sent Items folder, and then without changing any settings whatsoever one to the same receipient does not get placed there.
I can receive messages but I can not send. I've tryed everything but no result.

No more than 4 days ago,I was able to run Grand Theft Auto San Andreas perfectly fine without a problem. But a while back, I started getting error messages out of no where and I have no idea how to fix it.After installing the game...I get the following message....
After going to the event view,I saw this regarding San Andreas. I know many have the cracked version of the game but I can assure you that my copy is 100% legit,I will post a pic just in case you want proof. I have deleted the gta.set file numerous times,uninstalled and reinstalled,I've tried it to run it under XP Service pack 2 and nothing has worked.Is there any way I can fix this?I really want to play it again. View 5 Replies View RelatedI use Windows mail. When I send messages using scripts, my graphics sometimes do not embed. This happens randomly.I have changed my Interent Explorer settings. I turned off my antivurs program Avast to see if this helps. I also turned off "Defender" and any thing that looks like a firewall.But The problem persists. It works about 70% of the time. It is very unpredictable.
