Cannot Send Or Receive Messages: 0x800cccf3
Mar 1, 2009
it says that i cannot send or receive messages from my hotmail account. I am using Windows Live Mail in Windows XP. The error says to send or receive messages from my Hotmail,or try again later. It is impossible to get an email address to directly speak with a support representative. I have tried searching for over an hour! whenever i try and send a picture it wont send an email anymore. just two days ago no problem. i tried deleting some of my emails that i have stored on my account to free up space but it didn't help either.

I recently bought a computer which I built by myself with some friends, and I have had some problems. Upon installation of Windows Home Premium 64 bit, I receive blue screen error messages. Usually they happen when I am trying to open a file, or if I am installing updates for anything. It either goes to a blue screen, or it will completely freeze, and I'll have to reboot. Sometimes upon rebooting, my computer will get stuck in between the loading screens for Vista, it will get past the Microsoft Corporation loading bar, but get stuck on a black screen before the vista symbol shows up. I have some friends that think its my RAM, because I have had 2 sticks of ram in, totaling 4gb, and others think its the Video card. below is a list of all my components.

I use Windows mail. When I send messages using scripts, my graphics sometimes do not embed. This happens randomly.I have changed my Interent Explorer settings. I turned off my antivurs program Avast to see if this helps. I also turned off "Defender" and any thing that looks like a firewall. But The problem persists. It works about 70% of the time. It is very unpredictable.

I configured the e-mail correctly and it recieves and sends messages, therefore, it doesn't work all the time. Only some times. As this e-mail I use is the enterprise e-mail, I need it to work all the time I click in "send/recieve messages" and don't need it to work "when it decides to" and so, most of the times, I can't use the Windows Mail, but the site where I registered my e-mail in, which doesn't have all the resources the Windows Mail does. It works in random times... Last Friday, I started working at 8:30 am and
the messages only were recieved at 5:00 pm. So, I'd like to know... What's going on?

I recently moved and after setting up my computer, I am suddenly no longer able to send messages through windows mail. i haven't had problems with it before and find it odd that all of a sudden it is sending me an error message. I'm not sure if I accidentally changed a setting or something. the error message I am receiving when trying to send e-mails is:

All of a sudden my windows mail quit working. I can send but not receive. I get no error messages and it seems to be cycling thru from connecting to disconnect. All it says is "no new mail". Been using the att web mail to get my messages that has been taken over by Yahoo and is a major pain in the butt to share with 3 family members. I have uninstalled Norton 360, unchecked the secure box and run all kinds of registry error fixes. Still won't work.

Here is the message I'm receiving and we've checked the passwords, and clicked off the authentication button. etc.
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. setting up windows mail on new hard drive and can't seem to figure out how to get it right. I am using a live.com email adress. I have already tried getting rid of antivirus stuff and fiddling around with security things. When i click send/receive mail it goes through and tells me i have no new emails which i know isn't true, i have 10 sitting online. I emailed myself and got a new email online so i know i can send them. When i click pop3.live.com under the send/recieve all button it gives me this error: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop3.live.com', Server: 'pop3.live.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Not a huge problem as I can at least send and receive emails manually but can anyone suggest why my Windows Mail account no longer checks for new mail automatically, even though it's still set up to do so every minute? If I click on send/receive it comes up with an error message but no error code. And if I just click on receive email any messages come through straight away. I have no problem sending email or receiving it
by clicking on "receive mail" every so often, but I've spent ages trying to get back to how it used to be and can't. I hate giving in! The problem occurred after downloading a trial version of Norton and even though I uninstalled that (later trying AVG and now McAfee) the problem has persisted for months now.

My computer crashed and had IT person set it up for me again. He is not too familiar with Vista. I now have AVG anti-virus program and some responses I have read said it could be problem with anti-virus - so does Windows mail have a problem with AVG? My error response I receive is: Subject 'help', Account: 'Windows Mail', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '250 8BITMIME', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 250, Error Number: 0x800CCC7D
Under PROPERTIES: Servers neither box is checked Incoming or Outgoing for authentication. Under ADVANCED: Outgoing mail port number is 25 and Incoming Mail at 995 both boxes are checked for requiring a secure connection.
