Block Senders In Newsgroups (and, If Possible, Also Delete Previous Messages From The Sender I Enter)?

how I can block senders in newsgroups (and, if possible, also delete previous messages from the sender I enter)? I was easily able to to this in the past. I could simply click on the message and block that sender. Now, I cannot even locate the command to block senders for newsgroups. I can block senders for email by manually entering the address, but that is not the same thing as what I am trying to describe. Some newsgroups are being hit with incredible numbers of junk messages, and I would like to be able to clear the messages (as I could when I used Win XP and earlier versions of IE). I am using Vista Home Premium and IE7.
I know there is probably an easy answer to this question, but I can't find it. I have found answers on how to block senders in e-mail, but I would like to know how to block messages from specific senders in *newsgroups.* I am using Windows Mail 6 (with IE 7 and Vista Home Premium.
When trying to open or delete some messages in WM, I am receiving an error message telling me "an unexpected error has been encountered." The error message states that there is a problem with memory or the disk being full. My computer is fairly new so I can't imagine that I have even come close to filling my memory.
I keep getting 42 messages trying to come through and they get stuck on message 28. I then get a message saying 'client connected' and I can never retrieve the other messages. I then cannot delete the first 27 messages. Do I have a virus or something or what is happening?
Is there any way to delete messages automatically after a certian number of days? I want to remove anything over a week old in my deleted item folder and have this done automatically.
I'm using Windows Mail for my emails. When I exit the program, all the messages in the Delete Folder are permanently deleted. Under earlier versions you had the option of keeping messages in the delete folder when existing. I can't find that option in the current version of Windows Mail.
I restored my vista OS using a system image utility provided by Alienware. It created a backup folder on the c drive with all the old files in it, including user profiles. I changed the owner of all files and folders back to my account and tried to delete it, but got the UAC messages that I need to allow administrator rights to do so. After clicking yes, I got a message that permission was denied with the only options of "Try Again" or "Cancel". After making visible all hidden files and folders, I was able to drill down to the one file I could not delete. I've used the "take ownership" steps in Vista explorer properties, and also the "takeown" dos commands, which report success that the Administrators group or my account which belongs to the administrators group, is the owner of the file, and that I have full control of it. Even so, I cannot delete this file. In DOS, I get access denied. In Explorer, I get the "you need permission to perform this action" message, with "try again" or "cancel", and it shows that my account (or administrators group, doing it that way) is the owner. It's just this one file. I was able to delete all other files and folders around this file, but just not this one.
I wonder if the folder path is so long or so nested that UAC fails to figure it out? It was in users\appdata oamingetc. Or is the file corrupt? The file is a tempory file created by one of those biometric devices when logged on with your fingerprint, and is supposed to disappear when you log off, but it seems to have remained there because of a hard boot. Is there a utility I can use that can nuke this one lone file?
With my Windows Mail, attachments are missing from only certain senders. My co-worker, Sue, sends out email blast with attachments to multiple recipients including myself. I've verified that other recipients did received the email with attachments w/o a problem, however, when I open my email, the attachments are not there. This only happens with this particular sender only. I've also verified that other recipients do use Windows Mail.
I was under the impression that signing in was the only requirement for posting a message through Windows Mail. But even when I fill up my message in the New Post tableau of Windows Mail after signing in, WinMail reuses to send the Mail with the error message saying "no sender has been specified. But here is no provision to insert the Sender's Name in the New Post Tableau. So how and where do I give the Sender's name? Because of this problem, whenever I want to post a message, I have to go back to the Vista Group's webpage and post the message. Is it possible to use Windows Mail for posting after signing in?
I have deleted almost all my mails but the following message appears everytime: A message was sent to you that was returned to the sender(bounced) because it would have caused your mailbox quota to be exceeded. The following is the reason that the message was over quota: Quota Type: total bytes store Quota Available: 0 Total Quota: 30965760
I receive a lot of emails throughout the day, I've set up a message rule for mails so they get auto forwarded to my secretary so she can respond to them. This is where the problem starts. The emails that get forwarded to my secretary only shows that they were sent from me, the original senders emails are nowhere on the email. So all of the emails that get auto-forwarded all end up saying they are from me and not from any of the original senders. So there is no point of her replying since it will end up back in my inbox. Is there a way to fix this? I need an option or a solution for WINDOWS MAIL to place the original sender in my forwarded emails. Is there a checkbox I neglected to click or is the problem not fixable?
I added a huge amount of senders to the Blocked Senders list, but still get them appearing in the Junk Mail folder. I get hundreds of junk mail each day and was hoping that this would stop them from showing. Is there something else I need to activate to make this work?
Windows mail running on Vista and the darn program keeps removing attachments from one sender only.It must have something to do with the settings in the account section because I can forward from the internet (before downloading into WM) to my gmail account and WM will download attachments.
I've been receiving hundreds of spam messages per day. Many of these take advantage of a diabolical trick: they spoof my own email address as the sender. Thus, if i try to block them, i block all messages that are returned to me from certain email lists that i participate on. How do i deal with spam that spoofs?
I posted a question regarding a problem I am having with one of my friends sending me emails and her emails going into phishing. I have listed her address in my safe senders and she is not listed in my block senders but somehow only her emails go into phishing. Someone answered my question but when I click on the link to get my answer, a blank page comes up (it should take me straight to my question and the answer). And I cannot find my question anywhere when I sign in to the discussion group.
MB Asus P5N-T Deluxe, Just upgraded from Core 2 Duo to Core 2 Quad. Cannot enter BIOS. At boot the message "new CPU fitted to get best results update your BIOS". When pressing DEL it says entering BIOS but doesn't. Tried using the Installation disc but get a blue screen saying windows shut 'cos new H/w or S/W fitted. How can I update the BIOS if it can't be got? Will it mean replacing the CPU - downloading and installing the updated BIOS then refitting the Core 2 Quad?
I want to use the note pad but it won't let me enter text. It only allows skript writting with the mouse. how can I make entries on a note by typing in the info?
I've been using a BT Home Hub for some time. I want to enable UPNP on my router so I can host a server for a game called Blockland. I type bthomehub.home in my address bar and hit enter. Then I click Advanced Options. Then there is a button saying "Continue to Advanced Options..." so I click that button, and then And I don't know my username or password. Some say that both username and password are "admin" but it isn't. So how on earth do I fix this problem?
one day last week, my vista x64 machine stopped going into sleep mode. Whenever I select sleep, the screen goes black, but the system never powers off - it just sits there, still running. If i move the mouse, the screen comes back on, almost like it never went into sleep mode at all.
I've got all updated drivers & BIOS for the motherboard (Asus Crosshair II formula) It's really wierd - I can't think of anything I did to cause this. I'm actually kind of getting fed up with vista (this isn't the only "random" problem I've had with vista, and I'll tell you XP, for all its faults, ran perfectly fine)

I am using Windows Photo Gallery in Vista Home Premium. I am having difficulty in getting the caption I enter for a particular photo to appear in the image as burned to a DVD using Windows DVD Maker. Using still photo images, is there a way to enter captions which then visibly appear when the photos are burned to a DVD?
I'm using Vista Premium Home 64-bit and I've noticed that I have no Previous Versions Tab available on any of my files. I also changed the services (Micrososft Software Shadow Copy and VSS)to automatic.
On the start page only windows mail shows there is no email sign as appears on the other users start page and I have no way to enter new contacts. Windows mail is set as my default. Sending and receiving mail works ok
When you install Vista, you get to a point where you enter and user name, a pc name and set the background etc.. Immediately after it performs a performance profile and it asks you to wait. While you wait some messages display about the new features of Vista... The first line of the first message displayed reads.. "Time is precious" .... yet its asking you to wait while it checks your pc's performance
I'm looking for some help here. I'm running Vista Ultimate x64. It no longer enters sleep mode on its own. It used to. I can force it into sleep mode by clicking on the Vista Orb and selecting "Sleep". It won't do it on its own - which is what I want it to.
I've run through the Control Panel/Power Mgt troubleshooter on these forums. All my settings seemed to be correct. Using the CMD prompt and powercfg -devicequery wake_armed yields one device: my logitech g15 keyboard. (Using powercfg -a shows that the only sleep state available is S3. That is correct for my motherboard, an Abit IP 35 pro.)
If forced into sleep, the keyboard will wake it up.
The problem, again, centers on the automatic sleep entrance. Currently set for 1 hour of idle.
It seems to me that the machine never thinks it's idle. Is that where I should start? Finding processes which are running in the background?
I am using vista home premium on a laptop with a touchpad. I am trying to find a way to use the touchpad to enter chinese characters. how to set this up. I have essentially zero knowledge in all this - how to use the keyboard to enter chinese
I type about 40 words per minute, but when typing on my home computer it does not enter all the keys that I hit. It is no particular key but more like there is a micro-second stall in the computer somehow that prevent the keyboard stroke from being recognized. I notice it most while using internet explorer probably because that is what I use most, but have had it happen while using other programs. After typing a page or so, I look to the screen to find a dozen or so misspelled words due to this problem. I have Windows Vista as the operating system.
I should have an option to choose a previous restore point on the System Restore screen but I don't. I also have only one choice of a restore point: today, which is useless. I've read so many of the threads but can't find the solution. I'm running Vista Home Ediition, I have 220g hard drive with lots of room to spare. I don't dual boot with XP, I have not changed the defaults for space allocated to System Restore. I'm baffled and I'm grateful.
I've bought Dell XPS M 1530 recently. Earlier with bios version A_05 my notebook didnot detect wireless network if it became available while the computer was already On. The computer had to be waking up or restarting in the presence of network and then only it registered it. The Dell technician downloaded the latest bios (version A_07) and the wireless network problem got corrected. But the new problem thats comeup now is that closing the lid doesnt put the computer to sleep. I checked in the power options, thats correctly configured. Even changed it to hibernate when i close lid. That doesnt work either. One more thing i must add - that it's not like my computer doesnt get to know at all that the lid is closed. When i open the lid, everything is ON but the mouse arrow behaves 'drunk' for a while before becoming normal.
