I've been receiving hundreds of spam messages per day. Many of these take advantage of a diabolical trick: they spoof my own email address as the sender. Thus, if i try to block them, i block all messages that are returned to me from certain email lists that i participate on. How do i deal with spam that spoofs?
View 9 RepliesI keep getting these spam emails from random valid email addresses telling me I have X amount of dollars waiting for me in a online casino. Every time i delete and block the emails address i get another from another email address generated. Its obviously spyware, I have run AVG and spybot and it hasnt fixed the problem. I cant adjust my spam filters cause sometimes theres important emails which get IDd as SPAM by accident. Is there anyway to fix this?
View 8 Replies View RelatedVista Home Prem/SP1 fully updated/WM. Emails from my bro-in-law have suddenly (since 16/06/08) been marked **SPAM** in the subject line. Since his domain is "freeserve.co.uk" perhaps this is triggering the subject renaming. Unlikely since other emaiIs from the same domain get through unblemished. Is this action likely to be through WM? Vista? or my email server? Bro-in-law is in my safe senders list. Any ideas how to stop this? A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

View 4 Replies View Related1- I put my charter.net email into Vista mail works great but now I can only get my email by going through vista mail. If I go to charter.net It says NO MESSAGES, but there are because I can get them when I go into vista mail.
Also I got an email from a trusted sender and Vista mail pt it throug to spam and said it could have been phishing, I am 100% it was not. I right clicked on the email and put it in trusted sender. Whenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.

Whilst that works well there is on occasion a message which actually isn't SPAM after all. I can copy the email to the desktop and edit it with notepad to remove the word SPAM from the subject line and then save and drag it back into Windows mail but the situation I have is that I have a (mail) folder which has a large number of needed emails incorrectly marked. View 9 Replies View Relatedi have imported my contacts into windows mail ok. windows mail will not autofill email address's. on outlook express, yahoo, aol, when you start typing the email address you get a drop down menu with a selection of address's. i have ticked the automatically fill email address's in the options. all my contacts are in windows mail, i can see them if i open contacts. someone please help. more info:- it appears that if I have sent an email, by typing in the full address, it remembers that address and the autofill works ok for the contacts that i have "manually" sent an email. i have over 200 contacts.

My wife changed her email address. I dutifully went into contacts and made the change. The old address was completely deleted and "Contacts" now show ONLY her new address. However, when I open "Send Mail" and type her name, the old address continually pops up. Mail seems to have an odd set of rules as to which email address it will use, unfortunately, I have no idea what these rules are.
