View 5 Replies View RelatedI keep getting this error message when I boot. The entire message says, "windows explorer has encountered an error and needs to close." When I close the box, i lose my desktop, and can't run a bunch of programs, including the "run" option. I am able to run my browsers and get on the web. I did do a system restore, and it worked at first, but then on the next reboot, i got the error message again. Did another system restore, same thing.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI am running Win XP-SP2. I wiped my hard drive due to irresolvable software conflicts. I reinstalled XP-SP2, Office, Norton, the printer and scanner and my digital camera software package. All were updated and working perfectly until Sunday. I booted up the machine only to get a warning that says One of your disks may have errors let the computer reboot itself (which it will do repeatedly, stuck in a reboot loop) or you can hit any key to ignore this warning. You have only ten seconds to read all this and make a decision.
Once the computer boots up, everything seems to work as normal except for system restore. I tried to restore to the day after I reformatted and installed everything and all I get is an error saying Cannot restore to that point, please choose another point to restore tooor something to that effect.
An error window keeps popping up "Windows Service Pack Setup has encountered an error and needs to close." How do I get rid of it?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi had XP 2008 virus/spyware, which I think I managed to get rid of with Malwarebytes' Anti Malware and System Mechanic 7. Now I have a new problem. After receiving a recent download from microsoft, upon restarting, I get the blue screen of death with this message; STOP: C000021a (Fatal System Error) The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000)
I can't get anywhere into Windows, I've done F2, F8, F12, everything I could think of without risking more damage. I've booted from the system mechanic CD with the Hard Drive recovery, and while it said it found and fixed a problem, it didn't fix this one.
I have been getting the dreaded blue screen of death with STOP: c000021a (Fatal System Error)" Error Occurs when i log into my windows 2000 service pack 3 and my linksys wireless usb network adapter connects me to the internet. View 9 Replies View RelatedMy system is slow, Malwarebytes came back with error 714 (0,9), so uninstalled using add/remove programs - but even that continually showed error code thru process. Have now reinstalled Malwarebytes and running scan - nothing detected on scan yet. Tried to print on Dell 924 Photo printer (which has worked fine for 5 years) and came back printing error. Tried to add/remove MS SQL 2005 program, wouldn't allow me to uninstall. this program had error messages at startup, wasn't even sure what it was or how it got on the system, so decided to uninstal after inquiring on techguy software forum. but it wouldn't let me uninstal it. I think the program was probably related to high school technology class with the boys.

My computer is currently running Windows XP Home. When i turn it on i get the error message that reads: Sorry for the inconvenience but windows did't start successfully. It then asks me whether i want to start windows in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known good configuration, or start windows normally. If i i choose to use the last known good configuration, windows begins to load but then a blue error screen appears and the computer restarts quickly again to the same screen. If i choose any of the other options the computer restarts and eventually ends up at the windows loaded unsuccessfully screen. I would just use my Windows XP disk to either repair or reinstall windows but i use an external cd drive and it does not appear in the boot sequence.

In IE7 (Windows XP-sp2 Dell 3000 Intel Celeron D-330)Kept getting Windows Error message when surfing, saying Windows has caused an error and has to close then given choice of sending report. Also had problems with hyperlinks in IE, only showing blank page, or sometimes nothing at all happens when I click on a link.
So I did a uninstall/reinstall of IE6-sp2. Then downloaded IE7 from Microsoft, downloaded C-Cleaner, and AVG anti-virus. No viruses or malicious targets have been detected. Attempted to download AdAware but Windows said it was not a valid WIN32 application. Now, I get continual "Runtime Error" messages, asking "do I want to debug?" Have run a few registry keys per Bob Cerelli's notes, and "regsvr32 msjava.dll" failed. Also "regsvr32 mshtml.dll" loaded, but entry point could not be found. I have tried to set the ActiveX compatibility in the registry, but ActiveX is not listed in the registry keys. The only quick fix I found for IE does not support IE7.

But then it goes right back to the erroe screen.Cannot get into windows to remove norton, so is there a way to get to dos or something to remove it ?Also my son says if i need to wipe HD and start over that maybe he can put my HD in his computer as a slave and copy the files i do not want to lose.
