Windows No Disk Error
Jun 15, 2006I'm getting the Windows No Disk error everytime I load up. I have downloaded and run Highjack this as advised in other threads and this is the log.

Dec 31, 2006my wife was trying to download pics from her memory card of her camera (sd card) to my computer so that she could burn the pics to a cd. My computer (Gateway GT5016H) has a slot to insert the memory card into the tower of the computer. She inserted the card, retrieved the pics and proceeded to burn them to a cd. When she was done, she shut down the computer.Now evertime i start the compuer i get an error message pop up "windows-no disk" "there is no disk in drive. Please insert disk into drive." I also must click cancel multiple time to get rid of the error message.

Aug 19, 2008My son gets the message "invalid system disk, replace the disk, then press play" , when booting up, he started getting it after inputting a picture from a "smart card" using his built in card reader. There is NO disk in the reader. If you hit any key the computer continues to boot "normal" It isn't a big problem, but a sign of something not being right.

Apr 25, 2006I am running Win XP-SP2. I wiped my hard drive due to irresolvable software conflicts. I reinstalled XP-SP2, Office, Norton, the printer and scanner and my digital camera software package. All were updated and working perfectly until Sunday. I booted up the machine only to get a warning that says One of your disks may have errors let the computer reboot itself (which it will do repeatedly, stuck in a reboot loop) or you can hit any key to ignore this warning. You have only ten seconds to read all this and make a decision.
Once the computer boots up, everything seems to work as normal except for system restore. I tried to restore to the day after I reformatted and installed everything and all I get is an error saying Cannot restore to that point, please choose another point to restore tooor something to that effect.

Aug 15, 2008Last week i installed windows XP Pro on my desktop. It has a 250GB hard drive which has 1 partition (C drive only), NTFS offcourse. I did not format it while installing windows as it has lots of stuff in it. There's over 50GB free and i�ve been removing a lot of stuff from the hard drive to make up some space but in windows i get an error message that i don't have enough disk space, the disk cleanup utility runs cant free up space and i can not install or copy anything in the hard drive. I've noticed that when i deleted some file holding (or not) the shift key the free size goes lower although the files are being deleted from the hard disk.

Most everything I own is in a storage unit, boxes to the back, furniture to the front and guess where my disks are? Right! I put printer, shredder, disks, everything I didn't just HAVE to have in the storage unit.

When I close the box, i lose my desktop, and can't run a bunch of programs, including the "run" option. I am able to run my browsers and get on the web. I did do a system restore, and it worked at first, but then on the next reboot, i got the error message again. Did another system restore, same thing.

Apr 30, 2010I'm running Windows XP Pro SP 3, Intel [R] Core[TM]2 Quad CPU, Q6600 @ 2.40GHz with 3.00 GB of RAM.When I booted up just now a Windows light blue screen came on suggesting I should let Windows run a 3 stage Check Disk. I clicked Okay and it started . It was running down the screen too fast for me to write any of it down but it found a whole lot of files that were unreadable. I think in the second stage it said it was (perhaps) correcting problems, and doing something with orphan files but I don't know what any of this means. Some of the code language would often refer to things that looked like $350 or $128 (approximately) along with other code I couldn't read. It took about maybe twelve minutes, or so, and when it was done everything seemed to be working. It didn't tell me anything is wrong with my computer but could it mean my C Drive is faulty? That's my main concern. It's a fairly new 300 Gig hard drive and I haven't backed it up yet, and I guess if it's already faulty there wouldn't be much point in backing it up now, or would there?
